Jim's voice and lyrics, Ray on the organ, Robby on the guitar and John on the drums is just pure magic! These guys played their hearts out! Just pure talent.
@@sfeigh Yes, I know Robby wrote Light My Fire but Jim did add the part about funeral pyre. My comment was more about this performance and everything they did in their sadly short time together.

What a time to be alive ! The rock god Jim Morrison was with us but now he is gone but his mystique and voice live on when the world was our oyster. Rock on Jim you were unforgettable and the Doors were unique and exquisite

You've been in my life so long and so many many memories. I'll never forget the time we were on window pane laying on our backs in the Nevada desert near Wadsworth and listen to This is the End. Amazing and religious. Thank you for the Synesthesia. Heres to the greatest band to me, God bless.
But they reversed the instrumentation..its Coltrane and McCoy, with a bit of Elvin thrown in.... And the thing is, Coltranes group and the Doors just missed each other by not more than a year. Lots of Coltrane in the sixties, lots..
Coltrane's 'Afro Blue' is referenced likewise in The live performance of 'Universal Mind', here: ua-cam.com/video/l-3Re0bDQH0/v-deo.html (time-stamped so you can hear the segment of the song where it occurs!) :)

What music the Doors wrote and played. Jim Morrison was a poet and his band was awesome. His music is timeless.🎶
You don't want the music to end it washes over you
Most original American rock band of all time.. Mick Jagger watched Jim Morrison like a hawk.
and couldn’t compete or keep up with him. Morrison was way above him
Jim watched Mick like a hawk too, in the beginning at least

hippest cats on the planet- I was so lucky to grow up with these guys-and Ray; keeping your cool while Jim looks over your shoulder- amazing
I can never get enough of The Doors!
the doors debut album marked the end of innocence of the 60's.
I think it was a slow process and albums like that confirmed it was over
Then the second stage of the 60s started
1966 - 1975

Though I walk through the valley of darkness I shall fear no evil for Jim has walked before me.
