An interesting experiment to try might be teaching your bird, "go on". I taught my Quaker that many decades ago and he managed to figure out that I meant, "OK I want you to do this activity". Whether it was eating the snack I put there for him, or perch on my finger, or go on play with the new toy I just gave him, or go on go out of the cage, I just opened the door. Very interesting because he really figured out the more complex meaning.
At first I thought maybe they were trying to teach him their phone number incase he ever got lost. But I know they're trying to teach him sequential numbers right now, and trying to teach both at the same time would be very confusing. Plus even if they do teach him their phone number, I don't think they'd broadcast even a portion of it to the world. Since he's trying to learn sequential numbers, maybe it would be better to teach him his address incase he ever got lost. 💡

So her dog Stella started it, but then a sheepadoodle named Bunny became internet famous, followed by many more dogs, including her little brother Otter (standard poodle) who learned almost exclusively through observation. The first cat to learn buttons was an 11 year old named Billi who was amazing... she recently died, but there are several years of videos documenting her journey. She inspired a lot of people to teach their own cats buttons, and many can be found on UA-cam, like Russell, Todd, and Foggy.
