- Martin Gore of Depeche Mode performing But Not Tonight at Crypto.com arena, preceded by the audience response to Home. Filmed in Los Angeles on December 17, 2023.
❤ Believe it or not... when Martin first finished singing "But Not Tonight" last night at Crypto.. there was a lot of cheering and then it got quiet and the stage lights went Dark and very spontaneously as if overcome with emotion... i was the one in the audience who was loudly singing the final melody after the song was long over... and as Dave came back on stage he said out loud... "is someone still singing!??? "... and quite franky i almost died at that moment !!!! Many other fans in the audience started joining in with me and we all continued singing the final melody... And then Dave motioned his hands and said "and i guess we are not done yet " and decided to let us all continue singing the song melody a bit and the whole arena continued singing the melody together. With keyboards being played !
And Martin and Dave both smiled.
Truly magical moment last night. And I could tell the whole band appreciated that moment as well 😊
I was truly overwhelmed and over joyed... does anyone else remember that moment last night and what happened after Martin finished singing "But not tonight" ?

Oh me too! I was at the San Diego show just a couple days before this. They were fantastic!
I saw them in Vancouver and when Martin stepped up to do his songs he got a HUGE standing ovation from the crowd...we LOVED him! He did a fabulous set. And he was so pleased and maybe a little touched with the response, it was lovely to see. You are very much appreciated sir!

100% how good it is to live tonight or tomorrow and every other day life can get you down sometime with all the bullshit that we all have to deal with. I love Depeche Mode since I was 11 years old I’ve seen him 11 times throughout my life, I was looking enough to be able to do that, I feel blessed and grateful for that me and my wife of 10 years went to see Depeche Mode for the first time in nine years. I went to see them at Chase Arena in San Francisco on December 3. I had a reservations because I’m broke and I was depressed and I was watching them on UA-cam thinking to myself I don’t want to spend the money , I can’t afford it I slept on it I made a promise to my wife we would go see Depeche Mode December 3 months and months ago but I was just about to change my mind because of stress and depression and financial problems but I kept my word, and it was the best thing I ever did it made me remember who I was when I was standing there listening to Martin Gore, and Dave Gahan. It made me remember I was a human being. I felt tears running down my eyes when I watch that just now because I relate a lot to that song as we all do , I realize after that one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen that Depeche Mode no matter how much money it cost I was gonna do it one way or another because they’re in my soul and now they’re in my wife soul and she loves them just as much as I do I am honored to know there is a band that is worth every penny of what you spent and would you hear is love it’s a rocky road for all of us and we try to stay on that road but as narrow as it gets through our life, we need something to speak for us. I believe Depeche Mode is not just the band , but they are spiritual. They have something very very special. I could not even put it into words I don’t think I know any band that can do what they can do. They are truly the best music and everything that goes with it I’ve ever experienced. I hadn’t put a Depeche Mode pitcher up on the wall since I was young, but I have a new one. It’s hanging out the wall , so I can see it every day to remind me of what I did that day was the best thing I ever did was go see them with my wife. I hope everybody out there that hears this. This world can be really hard to live in, but we have to stick together and believe in what is right and being human, and taking care of our earth and taking care of each other have a good night . Wrote every word to a T!!! You are not alone fellow Devotee!! I too thought I was not going to see them in concert ever again ! I was currently unemployed! Thanks to a dear & generous friend, invited 12/15 and thanks to my siblings I saw them on 12/17 !! I was on cloud nine!! I couldn’t even get emotional which is easy to do when I am at home listening to them!!

Chills... this is such a special song to long-time fans. It was only ever a B-side in the UK/Europe, and sort of tacked on at the end of the US release of Black Celebration. The band dismissed it as a throwaway. It was abused as song on a forgettable soundtrack and forgotten. Except by the fans for whom this song means so very, very much. I am so happy that at some point the band got wind of the fact that BNT was a true fan favorite and that Martin started integrating it occasionally into his acoustic section.

00:30 finally the crowd singing is useful and not annoying. 06:00 Wow. Never heard that live before from them. Still probably my favorite of theirs. 06:30 Never seen anything like that before from a crowd.

Yes I know this song was the theme song for a crappy movie...This song is soooo underrated that it's not even featured on their YT channel.
He didn't Do Anything but flap his arms on stage to the audience's response loving the Attention, 'bow down to me'. There were others in this group yet you only brag about the two up front. I like their classics from back in the day but today I am not fond of their personal selves* (Ego is like a sickness man can't find the cure for yet).

Yep. I stopped seeing DM years ago and hearing songs like this sung by Martin instead is one of those reasons. I'd much prefer to hear the album version and sung by Dave but they do these acapellas by Martin instead which I find annoying. They could blow people away doing the album versions of many songs they havent performed live in years.
I'd much rather see The Cure for what they perform for their fans as DM does the same old same old every tour now for years.

it seems like the people yelling for the chorus are always Spanish. When the dm is in Mexico, you will hear 100 annoying ass people doing the same thing.
