I listened to Eminem since he came on scene in the 90’s, it’s incredible how much he has transformed as a person. Not just lyrically through his music, but overcoming his addiction, letting go of the resentment he had towards his mom. He has truly become a better person, and it shows how much he loves his family now. Addiction is a bitch, and when deep into addiction, nobody else matters, even family. He’s truly overcome all of that. I will always love his “old school” music, filled with anger, but truly love the person he’s become and is today. It goes to show, the past doesn’t define who who we are.. there’s always today to change and become the person we want to be. We can’t change the past, but we can control our future. Eminem took control and it shows.
There are so many people battling with addiction. This is the realest thing I've seen coming from an artist. Accountability in a rap song. I love you Em. Keep choosing sobriety and thank you for sharing awareness on this subject.

Yes but what about him getting his awards on stage or even backstage? There is litteraly nothing showing it, not even a pic. That's not nice for fans how Mtv did this
@ticia4328 that's literally Eminems fault for not wanting publicity. If Eminem would allow they would show all his awards publicy to boost their ratings but they can't because Eminem wants to leave ASAP
@virgilijusbernikas1666 Even if he wanted to leave after his performance or didn't want to speech in front of the crowd then they could have at least asked him to prerecord a message or something to thank the fans who voted for him. He is not that kind of being ungrateful and have always thanked everyone, his fans and his team. I don't get why now there was literally nothing, not even on his social medias. What was the point of coming then? as if he was a random guest who didn't win anything. Don't get it really
He's always been grateful for MTV playing 'My Name Is' (Which aided his explosive overnight success) and still playing his music videos despite all of the protest, bad press, and drama that was going on back then. Though, I feel he deserved 'Most Iconic Performance' and ESPECIALLY the 'Video Vanguard Award' (LONG OVERDUE!!!), and I feel he should have gotten the awards he did win live (Especially Best Hip-Hop), I understand most of the airtime was taken up by performances. Eminem probably left soon after his performance anyways. MTV/VMAs (They're not perfect) still aren't as scummy as the Grammy's and have contributed, in my opinion, to music culture in a much more in positive way, to give credit where credit is due.
That flying to close to the sun, when he sang that part omg that's exactly what I love about his voice, that range, I WANT THIS VERSION ON HIS ALBUM!!!

his verses on "somebody save me" were just so pure... no extravagant wordplay metaphors etc. just raw love for hailey ❤
GOAT🐐
He should’ve won video & cinematography award
Slim you have always been an inspiration for me like a big brother I never had. I've listened to your music from the beginning and grown with you. Your music has saved my life during some of the worst times in my life including my recent divorce. I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Reading this all I heard was "My teas gone cold , I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all"
@@krazykittymattSAME
me too man, always seen him as a father figure in a way. i'm not sure i would be here today if it wasn't for his music. Im glad you found the same healing in his music
STAN 😂
Literally this was the only part of the award show i watched
at the end was he was in the back sitting there looking up at the videos and pictures... man that was touching... its like he wishes he can go back and do it over but better, but im just glad he turned his life around now...
I like how he shares his life and mindset with us on this one. It’s raw and real
@@FallonFinnley I'll second this motion... even more so, Em has always been raw and real... even through his doped up days and "less-than-stellar" albums, he displayed who and what he was... he may not be able to turn back the clock to un-do the impact Shady had on his family personally, but he's still that young man who believed his words and craft can bring something better for his kids... and hot damn, they did...mos def...
@@NovemIota
I totally agree 👍🏼
3:18 someone already brought it up but the fact that you can hear his voice crack is incredibly touching
It's a voice technique, he knows exactly where to deliver what
@@EndreyMusic considering the look he had on the couch, I think he genuinely got emotional
@@burbusburbus8782 Yeah Could be but also delivering the same verses/lyrics over and over again does desensitize you to them and it becomes something you automatically do, it's kinda like voice acting
Eminem got very emotional, you could see and feel it. I am not surprised as the song is extremely emotional. I also cry in rivers every time I listen to this beautiful song. Eminem is the best rapper and the most relatable artist to me. The goat.💛🐐
Full circle nostalgia mode. Em is the ish. Reminds me of the time when MTV was the best thing on cable TV. I miss the 90s.

I love this man to my core 💕
Em will always be my favourite 🫶
All you can hear is the crowd screaming...LEGENDARY
They must like Bon Jovi, 024 hit of the above title.
2:02 posty chilling
Who is next to him??
Who are they?
I’ve been a fan of Slim Shady since day one! I still remember buying *The Marshall Mathers LP* as a third grader back in 1999, and now, in 2024, I had the incredible honor of playing a small part in his show. Eminem will always be the GOAT!
How cool for you!
The Real Slim Shady to The Way I Am
Ass like that to Mockingbird
Houdini to Somebody Save Me
Full circle performances
I love that Eminem brought back the Slim Shady clones for this performance. It's like I'm back in 2000 already! 😸
GOAT. LEGEND
Eminem looked so sad at 5:00
Songs emotional. Plus he's just found out his mum has terminal cancer.
@@BodieC92where’d you hear that? Not saying your lying but if that’s true then damn I hope they really are in a good place if that’s true because I know his dad died and they never even met. I hope him and Debbie have a good relationship now

All the Eminem’s from Multiple Universes
Yes indeed
After a long time people have raised their hands instead of smartphone
MTV and Eminem has such a good relationship from beginning to now.
Eminem turning most of invites down but once it comes to MTV he shows up.
That's integrity people. Don't turn back on who helped you
Yes but what about him getting his awards on stage or even backstage?
EMINƎM switched my emotions real quick i was so happy on the first song and crying like a baby on second
Same thing happened to me. That 2nd song hit different when been the same road as a father+addiction.. His music change my life. ❤
That flying to close to the sun, when he sang that part omg that's exactly what I love about his voice, that range, I WANT THIS VERSION ON HIS ALBUM!!!
@MTV: Eminem still got the charms. Houdini is really lit, he deserves the award. More grace bro!
Should have won video of the year. 🐐

Beard and Botox work wonders
Black don't crack
@@Jon_Caves I’m sorry, but I HIGHLY disagree with one of the things you said. The other is correct (the beard) but botox? Eminem of all people DOES NOT strike me as the type of guy that would attempt to do botox! But the beard does work wonders. 👌Someone could ask him in an interview if he uses botox.. I’d bet good money that he says “NO”
@glockoma19mm Yeah sounds about right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Jon_CavesOf you look at the behind the scenes of the houdini video where he had his beard shaved he actually looks about 25😂

I was a clone on stage and even though u only see me for a second I was able to wave at my Family and friends! It was the coolest thing I've ever done in my life and got to feel like a celebrity for a few mins 😊. Thanks for choosing me as 1 of ur clones and yes Eminem is really cool in person!

Such an amazing artist. Great performance and the newer generation artist can only watch and learn.
