Sample Box Wars- Glossybox (May/June '12)

Hey Freaky People! Here are my thoughts (and hopes for the future) after the first two Glossyboxes. I hope they get over their growing pains fast, because I honestly don't want to pay $21/month while they get their shit together. But the potential here is enormous. So while cheaper sample boxes have equal sample values to this, I'm waiting, hoping for better days. I didn't get my June Glossybox until I'd already started receiving July sample boxes for other companies. So right now I'm just hoping I get my July Glossybox before it's well into August.

I got the ahava and thank goodness it didn't spill everywhere! I loved the sample...and I'm definitely going tombuy full size!

If you hang a ziplock bag full of water with some pennies in it on your door frame above your doors (on the side that the door doesn't open toward), it should keep the flies from flying in to your house. I have no idea why this works, but it often does the trick!

I was underwhelmed with my first Glossybox. I got the cream eyeshadow which was nice but it made the box worth less. I find 21 dollars a bit steep especially when I'm getting full-sized items from less expensive boxes. I'll give them one more month.

I believe all burberry products are scented like one of their perfumes. Every video I've seen people talk about how good their eyeshadows smell. I'm surprised that glossybox has been problems when everyone else from around the world loves them. They may have issues getting products from other countries for the US because the FDA is so much stricter than in say Europe. Like we can't get the Sleek makeup palette in the neon colors because it doesn't meet FDA standards.

that kinerase smells like play-doh! I was happy to get the mascara because that type of brush works for me, but everything else was disappointing. I've been subscribing to the various boxes for about 6 mo and I've counted the samples I've tried to give away or pitched. Myglam has the most, fthen birch - which was nearly 1/2 their products. I want to try new things but which are suited for me.Time for me to bow out of all except SampleSoc. I could go on and on ;) You always get me going LOL

Glossy box charges at the beginning of the month & ships at the end of the month so more then likely every box will arrive into the next month unless they change the shipping but as of right now they ship between the 23-27 of the month. I just signed up for the July box last week & then read their fb page & found out basically every box will be shipped out late in the month & received early the next month. I hope they change that eventually but as long as the box doesn't disappoint I'll stay su

Loved my May box... but not my June box. I was especially upset because they charged me for July before I even got my June one. I ended up cancelling.

I'm in Canada and my Glossy box always comes the week of the next month rather than in the actually month...so annoying!

I had to cancel my subscription. I was one of the ones that had my credit card compromised along with a lot of other people. Glossy box claims they were not compromised but there are a lot of people that had charges from the uk on their cards at the same time in June. I found out about it through a Glosybox blog and checked my card and there were the charges. I agree they have potential but have a lot o kinks to work out..honesty is one of them.

I think you give GlossyBox too much leeway, they are not a new company by any stretch, they been around a long time. I'm not very happy about the TRIPLE billing they did to my debit card, or the same as you, I received my June box July 5th. Oh well, they are beautiful boxes. Glossybox has huge complaints in the UK, there customer service is AWFUL!!! Needless to say I cancelled my subscription.
