"ECI Has Grossly Failed": Calcutta HC Slams Poll Body, Bars BJP From Making Derogatory Ads On TMC

The Calcutta High Court has restrained the Bharatiya Janata Party from publishing any derogatory advertisements against the Trinamool Congress until further notice. Single-judge Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya criticized the Election Commission of India for ""grossly failing"" to address the TMC's complaints regarding BJP ads targeting the ruling party in West Bengal.
Justice Bhattacharya in the order said ""The ECI has grossly failed to address the complaints of the TMC in due time. This Court is surprised that resolution of the complaints after the conclusion of elections is nothing to the court and as such in due failure on the part of the ECI in due time this court is constrained to pass an injunction order,"" as reported by Bar and Bench.
