Great interview, Nora, and excellent questions which highlight the personal growth that Mikaela displays, having bounced back from the enormous psychological setback of her father's passing. Having watched her for more than a decade, initially a young skiing prodigy on autopilot, through the embarrassing medal-less Beijing, to the intelligent poised positive young woman that she is, now apparently embarking on a new part of life with Aleks, it's so heartwarming to watch her journey.
More skiing interests world wide friends, sports competitions raise our lives a better place, all sports are gorgeous and young generations deserve to give it a try, pulling out the best champs gifts they hold within, if we can not reach certain levels, sports champions are gifted special and super humans like most genius artists, they are the best inspiration of life and...our own best reason to improve ourselves, beyond age, trying to break the narrow human limits is ...the most exciting adventure of life, you can bet on it
Yes she an remarkable open and warm woman. And her privatelife is that. Private. If I passed her at some slope in Norway I might give her thumbs up or something. But I would never talk to her. Or other Celebs for that matter. It is a really good interview. Because she did NOT! ask about Alex or other private things.
excuse me even college students have the NIL. If Schif needs a Mgr you know you can't sit in the same room for this detail. Lou or tex or goobeelay were all the same girl friend manager. That's another long story Pamela
The Olympic disaster is truly an indescribable event, the girl could have done better with her boots unbuckled. If this is repeated there is nothing left of this champion.
If Mikaela Shiffrin never wins another Olympic medal, her two alpine skiing Olympic gold medals tie Ted Ligety and Andrea Mead Lawrence. (The great Bode Miller won one gold, three silvers, and two bronze medals.) At the 2022 Winter Olympics she finished ninth in super-G, 18th in downhill, and was on the fourth-place U.S. team in the mixed team event. Ryan Cochran-Siegle won silver in the men's super-G, but I'm not sure whether any other USA alpine skier woman did better. It was a massive let-down relative to expectations, but ninth best in the world at the Olympics is _not_ disaster for most mere world-class skiers! Fortunately champions are internally motivated to excel, so disparaging comments from zero-talent jerks on the internet don't factor into their motivation. Be better. “I don’t know if anybody’s failed that hard with so many opportunities, maybe in the history of the Olympics,” she said after the combined event. “But I will take it. I mean, it is a joke. That’s fine.” -- Mikaela Shiffrin after the combined event. She will never not be in the conversation about the G.O.A.T. in alpine sking, and her 2023 ESPY award for Best Athlete, Women's Sports shows recognition of her achievements extends far beyond skiing.
@@skierpage Mickie is a girl, she choked. I am happy she is an American girl. Lindsey Vonn, same category, a nice girl and accomplished athlete, but a choke.

She is the best athlete of this century and an even better person. Aleks making her whole again after the tragic loss of her beloved Dad.
I love my Mikaela Shiffrin. She's my queen. I like Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn both USA slalom skiers
Great person, Mikaela.
She’s quite humble. A refreshing change from a certain tennis player.
Congratulazioni vere Astrid 😊❤
