    Also it is a good idea to 40 40 20 rule use 40 present of you air for diving 40 for getting up and 20 for emergencies

    Great videos for all beginners! Must make an episode about frenzel technique for equalizing this. I have gained permanent tinnitus during my free diving training pushing the limit. I wanted to commit suicide at some point coz I am a musician, now I got used to it and keep spearfishing ever since. The valsava method in this video is really over simplified, can be dangerous since Tinnitus is permanent disability.

      Really sorry to hear this John, this sounds awful. We are so glad you have been able to work past this and continue engaging with the sport (and hopefully music!). Not pushing the limits is definitely the most important thing to note. If at any time you feel the limits being reached, stop and go back up.

    Thanks for such a fantastic intro! I'm an XS woman, living in the US. Do you have any recommendations as to where I can find a properly sized weight vest - and gear, in general? Most of what I'm finding is geared toward larger men. :( Thank you!

      Midgets r us or you could try the children's section

      Excellent, thanks for your insights, Greg. Unfortunately, it looks as though Midgets R Us is no longer in business in my area. What children’s stores do you frequent most? From one small person to another, thank you!

    Do you need to equalize on the way up?

    • @HuntmasterSpearfishing
      @HuntmasterSpearfishing  3 роки тому +2

      Great question, and nope you only need to equalise going down, your ears will automatically re-equalise on the way up!

    Should you also equalize while getting back to the surface?

    • @10eLSe11
      @10eLSe11 Рік тому

      Not needed. Your ears adjust naturally whilst ascending

    Will the fact that I smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day be an issue?

      No apparently smoking helps

    • @drdrew3
      @drdrew3 Рік тому +4

      Pro Tip: If you cut the filters off the cigarettes in increases the airflow and smoke delivery

    Why would you need to remove weight belt tho? Shouldn’t you know your limits?

    • @HuntmasterSpearfishing
      @HuntmasterSpearfishing  3 роки тому +2

      You absolutely should know your limits. Removing the weight belt though is important to know as a last resort safety measure. It will never happen to most of us. It's also to help your buddy release your weight belt, if everyone's belt operates the same way, your buddy should they ever need to can quickly and easily remove your belt if you do need help underwater.
