MOYVANE: John Moriarty Festival, June 21-23. A 3-day festival celebrating the life and works of Moyvane-born writer and thinker, John Moriarty. We extend an open invitation to all to join ‘A Way to Wonder’, a free community event taking place in the Church of the Assumption Moyvane on June 21 at 7.30pm, to mark the opening of the festival and launch a new collection of John’s writings, John Moriarty Grounded in Story. Special guests and speakers include Fr. Pat Aherne, Tommy Tiernan, and editors of the collection Amanda Carmody & Mary McGillicuddy. JOHN MORIARTY: In the year before John Moriarty's death in 2007, Maurice O'Keeffe from Irish Life and Lore recorded 3 interviews with him. Given that they were recorded so close to his death, so much of John's wisdom was distilled into these interviews. I reached out to Maurice to release the recordings freely available and he agreed to make a podcast with highlights from the 3 interviews.
