I hate the swap mercy stuff. My friend is a mercy main and always backs me up for support in diamond 1 and always gets yelled at. Yet I always get screwed when they dive me and they never help but mercy keeps them alive.
sadly mercy is not very good rn. Her healing isnt the best and you will have to be a good dps for mercy to get value out it. Its a very sad seasons for mercy mains 😢
It's so weird to me to hear that people are telling Mercy players to swap. In OW1, I was a Brig main and the amount of times I would hear "BRIG NO HEAL, GO MERCY" was twice almost every game. Now I feel like Brig's in a bad spot most of the time but I never get told to swap.
ehh tbh as a mercy main it is sometimes necessary to switch cus there’s just not enough heals.
zhau made it work in the end but she 100% could’ve costed her team this game for not switching when it was obvious mid game they needed more heals.

I think a lot of people really don't understand the impact of Mercy's movement and survivability. Yeah other supports have more utility but nobody, save maybe kiriko, can SURVIVE the way mercy can. Also I'm torn in terms of swapping heroes. On one hand I think everyone has a right to play who they're confident and comfortable playing but also if you get into a team fight and u see the enemy has roadhog, reaper, bastion.... Maybe don't be Winston 😅
I have to disagree, as a mercy main too 🥲 bap has lamp and aoe heal, Ana has nade and sleep for survivability as long as you have good positioning too, Moira has orb and a fade to get out, kiri is good like you said, and LW has great survivability too.. this season mercy really does not offer much.

Did u just forget about moira? She can heal herself back, fade to safety once every ten seconds and use the orb to herself. Mercy is fantastic but u have to know her movement well, meanwhile Moira is easier ti play and master

Is the Mercy hate just a high elo thing? Whenever I get a Mercy on my team it's very rare for them to perform badly, and they tend to be some of the nicest players I've ever met lol.
I imagine she performs better in lower elo since she doesn't require much aim or cooldown management. The lower in ELO, the less it matters what hero or comp you're running too. That said, according to overbuff she has a similar winrate across all ranks.
I think it’s more rare to see mercys in high ranks and even when I do see one they usually swap soon after
primarily yeah, she really isn’t usually worth running this season. she’s become niche and unfortunately can become a huge liability in a lot of situations. the things mercys get away with in low elo is just not going to be the same at a higher level. the dps passive also makes it a lot easier to punish her and especially her team - so even if she is doing her job perfectly it won’t matter. it’s so bad to the point where a lot of mercy mains like zhau have acknowledged if you want to win games/climb, to not play her :/ ive played so much kiri this and last season its become boring
fully depends on the people you play with. i’ve had a few rude people about me playing mercy, but i’ve adapted to how new mercy plays that i do very well most games and have been getting way more compliments than i was at the beginning of season 10 when i was experiencing those rude people.
I don’t think it’s mercy hate it is fair for teamates to ask you to switch based on their own judgement as it’s not like they’ll get a second opinion in their own head also a lot of players value healing and utility both of which are lacking for mercy ressurect although sometimes strong can be inconsistent which is fair it does invalidate all the enemies efforts
People asking to switch a hero are incapable of understanding the basic concept that the person behind that hero will always be worse playing something they're unfamiliar with; even if said pick is super strong at the moment. Better play something weaker you know like the back of your hand than something you never touched before.

As a Mercy main, while I do agree with your statement of playing your strongest character, the caveat is, you need to learn at least one other hero. What happens if you get into a match, and the other support picks Mercy? You have to pick someone else. And even if you ask them to give you Mercy, what if they refuse because she's their strongest hero too? I love playing Mercy as much as the next person, but you need at least one extra hero to fallback on when you can't play Mercy or if she's really struggling.

If you've played the game long enough to get into comp you know other heroes. Even playing kiriko or moira are super simple for anyone to pick up
This applies to rigid one-tricks only. I play almost all supports, and I have my comfort picks. With Mercy being one of them. By atleast trying to understand the basics of other support heroes, you’ll deepen your game sense and thus be able to swap if necessary, or when she’s taken by the other support.
And if you KNOW you will perform worse with an unfamiliar hero, that says it all. Familiarize! And if you still reject the idea of playing other heroes, you also lose credibility by complaining about others asking for a swap.
It’s a two-way street.

If theyd revert the backwards ga speed nerf and maybe slightly increase the move speed or the charge rate than her movement would be in a good spot for me then just make her healing 60 regularly and maybe 70 during Valkyrie or just let her ignore the damage passive or even let her heal for the damage she boosts or let her self healing generate ult charge. I really would love to gain ult charge a teensy but faster it feel like it takes too long since most of her healing is done to keep someone above a threshold anyway.

I’ve only experienced the whole “no mercy please” situation once my entire time playing OW and it was from my other support who was playing bap. I asked them how I was the problem and their response was “I can’t heal you when your in the air and you dying is costing us the game” 💀 then next round they insta locked mercy and basically made it so I couldn’t pick her again. We were already losing the game because we basically had no tank. Our soldier was the one creating the space needed. I won’t lie I just ended up just leaving the game because it was already bad enough with no tank but then to force me to play another hero like that and getting blamed for a loss is entirely of itself.
mid game insta lockers are the WORST. esp when they're trying to tell u to get off mercy just so they can play her instead of just asking to play her.

Hello, I'm new to this channel, but I'm still learning mercy when playing switch so this channel actually help me to do so.
I started on Switch too, I'd recommend remapping crouch & jump to the thumbsticks as it makes super jump & slingshot a lot easier
Im a switch lite player with over 2.5k hours on overwatch lol, if you're able too, I'd suggest getting a controller for ur switch, its much better then joycons or the console buttons itself if ur on a lite like me. I'd also suggest playing mercy parkour! Just go to customs in the play tab and look for an easy parkour map; then from there, it'll teach you all the different types if techniques you can learn/use as mercy, and you can also fiddle with ur setttings to figure what you feel comfortable with in game!

i main and love mercy…but when i swap with another character, it helps my team a lot..i hate to admit it, but other support can do better of what we can do..its like, it become 4v5 when i pick mercy…the resu skill is the main support skill of mercy..but without that skill, we become a liability…so fow now, i will not pick mercy…😢
I feel forced to swap at times cause if i dont I just get yelled at.. So now I have all my chats and voice turned off and focus solely on myself.. I've been climbing again cause of it.
5:08 As a Mercy main that almost reached Master, the best dps for Mercy will always be Genji, even now on this Season where Mercy feels so UNDERPOWERED pocketing genji makes her feel so powerful. Valk blade will alwasy be the superior combo
as much as u gotta pay attention to ur teams health when u rez, they also have to pay attention to ur rez. maybe if ana goes down and mercy goes to rez, dont dash in at 50 hp genji...... lol
season 11 buffs better give

I'm Rankin a ton with mercy and my teammates love her, idk you just have to position the right way, it's a lil slow now but u gonna get it through every rank you going.
I sometimes switch off her in comp if someone asks or wants to play her but other wise I like playing her the only time I'm not on her and neither of the previous reasons were asked its bc I really wanna play moria or ana

It seems OW players can do nothing but complain about Mercy. "She's too strong, nerf her!" "She's weak, swap!" Like I think at the current state of the game she should be buffed and stay there

I hope Blizzard makes Mercy better. All of their heroes are iconic but Mercy is my absolute favorite support to play as/with.

I love her but is really sad how she is a troll pick now. She needs a rework indeed. She is just a heal bot now, you heal tons but the other supports do almost the same as her but pressuring the enemy team with 100% more damage than Mercy. I wish they add damage potential to her, or let her be the best healer by far.
have watched a lot of your videos rn and have to say wow i know mercy players can do this but most videos i watch aside montage never show mercy in the hand of a master mercy player i returned to OW 2 and look up the nerf on healing have to stay first of all great gameplay and next i would still stay mercy is "good" reses and damag boosts in the hand of a good mercy player can still get a lot of value out the healing nerfs hitted beam/healing over time effects like mercys beam or anas shots i mostly see burst healing rn i would still say play what you wanna play and dont blame your team wins come and go

Mercy is unplayable in metal ranks. I don't even bother with her anymore. She's not fun when your pumping heals or damage boosting when your team can't aim or take cover when necessary.
The 'swap Mercy' hate has happened in every season and patch where Mercy is weak or even just not broken OP or meta must-pick since the beginning of OW, this season is not that different, sure she probably does need some buffs or GA adjustment (it feels so buggy lately?) but even when she is weak she is never 'unplayable troll pick' deserving of harassment and being yelled at to swap like people are doing and have done before, its always a massive exaggeration, the fact that there are still Mercy mains and OTPs in Masters+ is a testament to that, but people ignore the facts and just regurgitate what the popular toxic streamer/tiktoker of the day is saying. And people picking Mercy is certainly not what is making people stuck in Gold/Plat lose their games, Mercy hate is just a scapegoat and always has been!
The Lucio at 6.25 should not be in this elo. It’s basic kit understanding to know Lucio ult to beat both sides of a sym ult. I thought knowing u have a second to give both sides a beat upon cast was basic tier kit understanding at the level of climbing from plat to diamond maybe. That player must be boosted.

I think the level of game knowledge and hero skill for each rank has gone down severely as OW2 has gone on, Plat players make mistakes I'd expect of Silver players these days, I don't understand. I don't think they're boosted I think the playerbase has somehow gotten worse as a whole, which is weird because usually the opposite happens the older a game is.
