- Join me as I head to Watermouth Castle Family Theme Park located in Devon! In this action packed vlog I experience everything this unique attraction has to offer for the first time. I start off inside the castle itself by taking a walk through all of the different rooms and displays. I then head out into the main part of the park and discover all of the quirky theming and details! I also share on ride POV's from the Toboggan Run, Snail Ride and a beautifully landscaped boat ride. Along with that, I share highlights from the fantastic fountain show and much more as I enjoy Watermouth Castle for the first time!

7:48 it's taken years of my life to find video evidence of this hunchback in the dungeon because I can remember being scared of it as a little lad so vividly. thank you theme park worldwide!
It is supposed to resemble the hunchback of Notre Dame because he is ringing a bell. It also had a sound effect of a bell ringing but very creepy and a whirring sound to represent his bones creaking I think. Also there was a headstone down there too with a skeleton reflected on it playing bagpipes. It feels like you are in a cave down there and trapped in with a light somewhere.
In the dungeon you basically walk down the stairs towards a door that you open and then there is a window. You push the button in and a secne from Gulliver's Travels lights up. Then you Walk round the corner where there is a Hansel and gretel secne. Then down the next hallway is Snow White. Next to that is a Mineshaft with miners digging for gold. In the next tunnel is a headstone that lights up with a skeleton playing bagpipes and at the other end is the hunchback of notre damn. The next hallway is themed to look like an old street full of shops behind doors and windows with Greensleeves. There is a carpenter, chandler, taxidermist, potter, saddler and weaver. You walk through a door then into a room with lots of penny machines before you enter the haunted vault. It is like a hallway with a cell where there is a crack in the wall and if you watch, a ghost appears and then dissapears. There is also a door with a window that you peer into and there is a man looking down into a crystal ball. The best part though is a little shed that you open and there is a witch inside but when you close the door, the doorknob vibrates. On the entry to the Smugglers Dungeon, there is an infinity mirror and sailor man. When you get in, there is a loud noise as a man in the cell rattles the door saying " open the door!". Lots of noises happen as it shoots air at you when you walk through the tunnel and through the low walkway into the section where the pirates are drinking rum. There is a person hanging from the ceiling as you go out. The last but is a Dungeon maze where you walk through rubber bars, hallway of funny mirrors and a cycle muesum.
@@youngamericanferret422thank you for this in depth summary! it was the hunchback of Notre dame I couldn't find any footage or images of- proper scared me as a child and now I can see it again without making the trek down south to get there

Whenever we went on holiday to Devon, my family would always take me here. It was always fun!
Captain Andy’s Revue was at Thorpe Park for years. Part of my childhood.
wild to think it was originally all the way from Baltimore, US!
I remember it being at Thorpe Park too, it then moved to Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft

As a Dutchie, I have to admit:
I'm a sucker for seemingly incoherent, weird stuff.
Absolutely loved this place!
Always loved this place as a kid-especially the Mortier Water show. Was also scarred by that dungeon for a good few years as a youngun, don’t make many places like Watermouth!
The first I went, I was going down the stairs to the dungeon and I pressed the button on the Gulliver secne whilst I was really scared about the creepy bit at the end but when the light went out, I screamed because I felt like I had to keep on going through but luckily I found the door to take me outside. Also when I saw the sign that said All Things Spooky pointing towards the Hansel and Gretel secne, I almost was in tears. I love it down there now though 😂😂
Who remembers when Alton Towers had a fountain show just like this one?! Used to love it!
I haven't been to watermouth castle since my kids were younger, thank you for bringing back so many wonderful memories
My mum and dad took me here when I was a kid thanks for some great memories Shawn

Watermouth Castle was always a favourite day out when I was a kid. I took my niece and nephew there a couple of years ago and they loved it too!
Nice to see watermouth castle open again. I enjoy watching the mortier organ with the water show and decap organ with the robots.
The memories this brings back for me is incredible. Came here all the time as a kid with my grandparents and now I live literally a 5 min walk away
My friend, living in EXETER [SOUTH DEVON] I'd always Believed I knew Everything about North Devon, it's a place that's SPIRITUAL Place to me. I feel In-love back in late 80's & early 90's when my friends & i did Surfing. Now you've shown me this Beautiful place. It's THANKS to guys like you who show us like. Even people who live near people.
It’s amazing to see how the boat ride jungle has grown and developed since it first opened in the early 2000s, where the plants were barely the size they are!
Nice to see this place hasn’t changed from when I went as a kid. Equal parts innocent and absolutely terrifying.
2:02 I've Know This Audio Animatronics. It's The One From The Series 2 Episode Of Rosie And Jim The Original Series In 1990. Now That's Awesome. Thanks Mate. X
What a cool place so much to see the vacuum museum definitely doesn't suck!
😁👍
The first family holiday I remember included visiting this place in 1999 when I was 4 years old and we revisited again 10 years later in 2009 when I was 14. Watching this made me quite emotional as I felt like I was there all over again. Thank you for a great video. Even though I am now 27 (going on 28) I would love to go back with my family just to experience this once last time.
I found this by accident on one holiday and I've got to say, I absolutely love this place so much, its so absolutely janky and bonkers and hilarious and terrifying. Its unique and Im so happy that you gave it a bigger platform cus this place is number 1 for weird attractions.
It's been top weather for visiting place like this! Love it
This is and was my favourite holiday Childhood park! Used to love it as a child 😊
Oh wow this looks amazing I love the views and everything there is amazing
Absolutely love such honest and fulfilling content like this. Seeing a park for the first time and giving it the publicity that it clearly deserves!
Really enjoy passing a Sunday afternoon watching this
Thank you for all Shaun! Great to see
Thank you very much!
Cool! Watermouth Castle Family Theme Park is a great Park! Especially it has a great castle!
Looked like a really cool unique place. The Dragon in the cave had me cracking up.
I have been visiting this park since the late 80s early 90s and it is absolutely brilliant. Quirky and fun. The grounds are immaculate. You can easily spend all day here, especially if you take your time to look at everything on offer.
What a beautiful and unique park. Hadn't heard of it before, looks fascinating 🤩
Shawn this was so lovely, what a beautiful theme park. Of course my favourite bit was “he doesn’t look very operational ……… arrgghhhh!”
This video has unlocked a memory for me! I clicked on it having no idea where it was and as soon as you went into the dungeon I remember going there as a child on my family trip to Devon years and years ago! I always wondered where it was I went on a toboggan ride as a child and now I know!
That’s great to hear!
Fountain show absolutely stunning incredible
Another great Vlog as always Shawn, this little family park looks amazing. It’s a great day out for the families
Been their twice, one of the best places in Devon to visit , its got something for old and young alike, and for a great day out its perfect for all the family.😎👍
I visited here when I was about 7...I really enjoyed it and jt is so nice to watch this video gives me quite a big throwback... loving the content
27:21 Oh my God, it's Cap'n Andy!!! They had him at Thorpe Park in the 80s and 90s and he was such a huge part of my childhood. This place just gets better and better!
It’s such a hidden gem of a park!
I love places that flip between twee and creepy - sort of nightmarish! Looks amazing, good vid 👍
Cool! So happy that the sun has started coming out
Hello Shawn, this was a great Vlog and it's great to see the very different and decent heritage of the Watermouth Castle Family Theme Park throughout. Thank you for giving us a great commentary, it's much appreciated. Cheers Peter :) p.s. thank you for sharing us your experience, I am glad you had a good time.
Another magical place that I went to on holiday as a child, then with my children, lots has changed but still looks magical. Great to see you at these wonderful places, If your passing Bude on your travels I would love to show the not even a tenth finished little atraction I'm building in Bude Town.
This place looks great and I especially love that they have the attraction that used to be known as Cap’n Andys revue from Thorpe.
It’s great to see!
Went here at least 30 years ago, bits of it are coming back to me, what i do remember is that it was a very rainy day - you looked out on the weather though, lovely place, very well kept
Ah how nice its actually sunny out this time! Bright and hot
I have extremely fond memories of visiting watermouth castle as a child. Oddly brilliant and bizarre.
Brilliant place to go! We thought it will be a good couple of hour we ended up spending the whole day! Got to go back to check out the new additions.
Great little park, rather quirky but beautiful grounds. We’ve had many happy days out here when the kids were younger. Toboggan is great fun!
Weather's been beautiful lately! Perfect for Theme parks 👌
25:25 honestly made me laugh so much, it took you by surprise! This place looks absolutely amazing.
Wow what an amazing place. I have never heard of it. Great video as well.
Really want to go now with my family! Love what you are doing with the smaller places and showing them off to people who didn't know about these places!!
Thank you! This is a gem of a park!
Such a beautiful and unique theme park that so many people haven’t heard about purely because it doesn’t have any thrill rides or coasters !!! Reminds me of Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight
The list of places I want to go grows longer every time I watch a video of yours
thank you for always showing the kids rides great a mum to see good places etc too take my kids x

You’re the best, thanks for taking us along!
Thank you!
I went here 5 years ago! I remember the robot band! There was only Merry-Go-Land, the troll cave and the snail ride!!
Never heard of this park before. I do love quirky places like this. Looks so fun
It certainly is!
This is the kind of place that needs to be declared a national treasure to remain protected from too many updates or destruction ... thanks Shawn!
Definitely!
it's a grade II listed building iirc
Without a doubt. It has a new company running it now though called Escapade and they are planning to put some new rides in the park area but hopefully, they won't change much of the inside bit.
Wow looks so pretty and a different park!
Wow looks great! My list of places I want to visit due to Shaun is increasing! Great video!
That brought back some memories, we were there about 20 + years ago, hasn’t changed much at all, what a crazy place ! Nice one Shauny… ✌🏻❤️💥
Loved it here! Thanks for watching!
Nice one Shawn, great video. We went yesterday after seeing it and had an amazing time. What a lovely place, so much to see. The kids can’t wait to go back and are seemingly watching your vlog on loop now 😄
I love how often you post quality content, amazing !
Thank you!
I’m from Devon and this was a childhood staple for me. Always recommend people to visit this place at least once. I loved it. And going through that dungeon beats any ghost train lol
It’s incredible!
What an awesome park. You do make us laugh Shawn hey big spender. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 brilliant 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for watching!
I live in Devon and never knew this existed! Definitely going now at some point. :)
Wow this place rules..awesome for little ones
We are going to visit there now after watching this, it looks one of the best parks of the kind I've ever seen. We are in Devon in August so it will be 100% on our things to do list. Thank you for introducing us to what looks a great day out.
Have a great time!
The dark ride scene on the snail ride used to be based at Watermouth Castle’s (now defunct) sister park, Once Upon A Time, but instead of teddy bears, it was The Smurfs! Exactly the same set up, but they’ve just replaced the figures with teddy bears!
The smurf dark ride was on a similar train layout but as you rode on the outside section you would be greeted by characters from The Wind in the Willows!
yes! i'm so glad someone else remembers this too! very weird that they've retrofitted all the smurfs animatronics but the gargamel remains the same.
Had my 4th visit here only yesterday brilliant place thanks for uploading this brings back memories
It's so nice to see the walkthrough attractions havent changed a bit since I was little. Love this place. i don't believe the boat ride was there when I was a kid though. It looks great.
Such a great place!
What a weird place, and i love it :D Really enjoy non-linear museum or "experience" places like this. rest of the 'park' looks really good too :)
This seems like such a lovely relaxed park. I love history so I think that I would really enjoy this.
It certainly is!
The museum is very interesting inside. Especially the old displays of Victorian life.
Love this! I live in North Devon and used to spend every single weekend here with my Gran as a boy, it’s great to see somebody experiencing it for the first time! Glad you enjoyed it, and you’ve got yourself a new subscriber! Can’t wait to see the rest of your videos!
Thanks for watching!
Loved the toboggan
Fantastic 👍👍👍
With that voice you could be a transfer rep in majorca,
So pulling away from Palma Airport, you'll notice that it's very hot today on majorca it's 1 million degrees so please keep hydrated, just sit back relax and we'll be down in Alcudia in around 40 minutes thankyouuuu
Loving it wow I would love to go 😍😍😍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We've got some really amazing hidden quirky parks near us lurking around Essex, this park looks so awesomely adventurous well themed with Alice in wonderland and Edward scissor hands combined this extraordinary unique park looks like it's got huge potential which is designated for families, the theme park itself seems totally underrated,
this place looks amazing , creepy as well.
That big troll music was the one hahahaha brilliant I have to do go just for that. Reminds me of used to be the place called pets corner now known as sundown ( I think ) vibes
Looks cool!!
Wasn’t a troll Shaun ! That’s further round , that was a digging mole
I went there back in may. It was a really different experience and I really enjoyed it! There was so much to look at and the water show was so fun and patriotic 😂
Absolutely love it!
Going to watermouth castle tomorrow. Can't wait!!
Visited here in late 1989, remember the vintage amusements and water show very well.
went here a few years ago its a great place to go if youre on holiday in Devon, me and the kids loved the taboggans!
You just can’t beat vintage coin op . G O T A K O R ! 😘🇦🇺
Beautiful place.
i was terrified of this place as a kid. it’s not hard to see why 😂😂😳
Fun fact about that scary crocodile animatronic at 16:58! It has an infamous reputation online for triggering ‘submechanophobia’ - the fear of submerged man-made objects and machinery. Another classic example is a similar, though much larger animatronic of a mythical creature called a Bunyip in Australia.
Thanks for sharing!
I love your channel and your different Thame parks you go to I love it I have been to 2 Thame parks in la Disneyland and universal studios they are so amazing
Thank you!
great video I have enjoyed watching this
