Homayoun Shajarian (Persian: همايون شجريان) (born 21 May 1975) is a Persian classical music and Persian classical crossover vocalist, and a Tombak player. "Hava-ye Geryeh" is one of his most famous songs. He has one daughter, Yasmine Shajarian.
He was born in Tehran in a music-dedicated family. He is the son of Mohammad Reza Shajarian, the grand master vocalist of Persian traditional music.
همایون شجریان (۳۱ اردیبهشت ۱۳۵۴ تهران) خوانندهٔ موسیقی سنتی ایرانی و نوازندهٔ تنبک و کمانچه است. وی پسر محمدرضا شجریان و برادر مژگان شجریان و برادر زن پرویز مشکاتیان است
همایون شجریان در ۳۱ اردیبهشت ۱۳۵۴ در تهران در خانواده‌ای سرشار از موسیقی متولد شد. وی فرزند محمدرضا شجریان است و از کودکی علاقه به موسیقی و ریتم در او نمایان بود تا آن که با تشخیص پدر نزد ناصر فرهنگ‌فر به فراگیری تکنیک و شناخت ریتم که اساس موسیقی است پرداخت و چند سالی هم آموختن را نزد جمشید محبی ادامه داد. از ده‌سالگی به همراه خواهرانش نزد پدر آواز را شروع کرد و در دوران بلوغ روزانه تکنیک آواز و صداسازی را به‌صورت فشرده فراگرفت. در همان زمان به هنرستان موسیقی رفت و کمانچه را به عنوان ساز تخصصی خود انتخاب کرد و در خارج از هنرستان به ادامهٔ فراگیری آن نزد اردشیر کامکار و آشنایی با تار و سنتور به صورت گوشی پرداخت.
او از سال ۱۳۷۰ به‌همراه محمدرضا شجریان در کنسرت‌های آمریکا، اروپا و ایران (با تنبک) همراهی کرد و از ۱۳۷۸ به بعد در صحنهٔ کنسرت‌ها به همخوانی با پدرش پرداخت. اولین اثر با حضور او یاد ایام نام دارد که در آن اثر همایون شجریان تنبک نوازی را بر عهده داشته‌است. همایون شجریان کنسرت‌های بسیاری را با بزرگان موسیقی اجرا کرده و آثار زیادی را به همراه آنان در ایران و جهان منتشر کرده‌است که می‌توان به آلبوم کنسرت‌های «بی تو بسر نمی‌شود» و «فریاد» اشاره کرد که هردو اثر در سال‌های ۲۰۰۳ و ۲۰۰۵ نامزد دریافت جایزه گرمی شدند

آلبوم ایران من بعنوان جدیدترین اثر همایون شجریان و سهراب پورناظری یکی از بهترین آلبومهای موسیقی سنتی در سال ۹۷ بوده و باعث تحسین بسیاری از منتقدین موسیقی سنتی شده است
حرکت اخیر و تحسین برانگیز همایون شجریان و همخوانی با تکتم، خواننده گروه سرود آوای همدم در موسسه خیریه توانبخشی همدم که ۴۰۰ دختر کم‌توان ذهنی را تحت پوشش دارد بار دیگر نشان داد که همایون شجریان در ایران یک خواننده و هنرمند واقعا مردمی محسوب میشود

در غربت مشغول تحصیل در مقطع دکترا هستم. هر روز صبح با گوش دادن به این آلبوم و کارهای دیگر همایون و پدر بزرگوارشون، روی تزم کار میکنم. من توی پانسیون دانشجویی هستم و جالبه که یکی از همسایه ها که یه دختر اهل چک هست در زد گفت این موسیقی که گوش میدی چیه چقدر قشنگه تو رو خدا بگو اسمش چیه خیلی دوست دارم! نگفتنی ست که چقدر احساس خوبی بهم دست داد. دست مریزاد و خدا قوت میگم به تمامی دست اندرکاران این آلبوم بسیار زیبا. پاینده باشید

A window to the soul
...On the day of his concert in Vancouver my heart increased, trembling with the expectation of the miracle to come. And with the first sounds of the traditional instruments, resonant with my heart, it happened.
Every fibre of my being naturally began to absorb all the uniqueness of these middle eastern paternal melodies and as the voice of the Maestro began, tears came, tears that could not stop.
As his soulful voice continued, his unique gift took me to a time, many hundreds years ago, back to an era of the great Persian poets, Nizami, Ferdowsi. Fizuli and Rumi, to the era of the noble Iranian shahs and their people, their musicians, dervishes and especially to the music in that time.
Listening to the Maestro"s musical interpretation of those poems about the eternal love of "Layla and Majnon, Khosrow and Shirin" evoked sadness and pain, pain for their fate, history and the stories of those heroes from those great poems and at the same time brought with it a priceless sense of beauty for their undying love...
Love that uplifts and inspires. Love that is cosmic and immeasurable. It is mysterious and mystical and penetrates the soul in such a way that is impossible to comprehend in our earthy sphere...
At the end of the concert, during his final song " My Iran' his voice was so solemn and intense, while inspiringly remaining and passing on to everyone all his passionate love for his centuries old homeland. Every person present perceived the love that radiated from him, his pride for their country and at the same time, all felt a sense of longing in the distance from their motherland..
The Master soloist Homayoun Shajarian with his profound performance left an indelible mark in my heart, my soul and my memory, enriching and inspiring me to such an extent that Im unable to describe the level of gratitude in me. Thanks to the whole Universe for this gift that came true in my life! Gratitude for meeting with Siavash who guided me to this music and of course, the Maestro himself for what he is in this world.
He is a talented and noble man, a worthy son of his father and his people.
This master who, with his devotion and modesty, continues to keep the music of the past connected with the present and future. As they say in the Iranian world, he s a bridge for the new generation, a generation who values their traditions, roots and musical legacy.
He is also deeply valuable for me, for my heart and soul as a guiding star in my Universe...

I see many comments about Humayoun, which is true. This is his best performance I think. However, please don't forget the composer , mainly Sohrab Pour-Nazeri, the wonderful players, the recording team and of course Melodifa for sharing this with us. That female soprano's voice and all other women voices are forbidden in Iran. Showing any musical instrument in Iran's national TV (all the channels ) are forbidden since 1978. Homayoun's father (Maestro Muhammad reza Shajarian ) who was also his mentor is banned to perform any concert just because of a one comment against the rulers. Any concert in any style of music should get approval from several religious and regulatory authorities. So shut your mouth and find another way to pay for your bills rather than false propaganda!
