Yes! Thanks so much for going into detail about this set! My spring got streched out right on that bend. It was somehow stretched straight. 😂 it funny that we had the same problem but in opposite sides.
Also check if your shifting paddle is slightly bent too. I think if the spring part is available, you should get the spring with the exterior piece because it is pinned in. I don't see replacements parts available for this plier on interweb except for the pins.
Make shure when you put it together that washer is in the right place! You will know if you have it in the right spot when it's a pain in the ass to put back together

Yes, the spacer goes in between the red selector piece and through the bolt. Must be flush.
