I literally blast your music out my windows, driving down the streets of Seattle, WA at night. At stoplights, people dance. Normally the drunk ones, but the sober ones at least smile. Everyone loves our culture, keep giving me reasons to share it!
Here are the lyrics: Free and Easy What can you see from the masthead? Spanish ships a - fishing What can you see from the masthead? A Portugee from Newfoundland Rising up on the breaking wave Let it carry you over all the sea in the morning Weigh, hey, and up she rises, Sun is up, the bird's a-wing And we're sailing free and easy What can you see from the masthead ? A trading ship for Galway What does he pay for the passage? A just reward for the pilot Rising up on the breaking wave etc. We'll stay at sea when the wind is keen and waves begin to billow We'll keep to the sea when the wind it fails And homeward bound we'll row Where shall we go for a cargo? We'll run right down to Vigo And if the Bay shall make a storm We'll take a look in at Bordeaux What spy you now form the masthead? An Algerine on the quarter What shall we do to greet him? Acquaint him with our ordnance Rising up on the breaking wave etc.
I could stay and listen to this group to the end of time, get drunk without drinking drop and be as happy as a clam. GOD Bless you all ! Keep singing ......
I love this performance - probably have watched it twenty times in the past three days and sent it to every music lover I know. (Yes, I'm a shut-in from the Corona virus, but still..). The whole ensemble works beautifully together, and all the players seem to be enjoying themselves. I know I'm about seven or eight years late in coming to this group. Had I known they were around back in '11, '12, '13, I would have "sailed the seas and come to the holy city of Dublin" to hear them. Yes, I bought the CDs, but the live performances would have been another thing entirely.

I love this music. It's miles higher on the cultural ladder than the screamers, grinding guitars and over amplified off-beat snare drum whaps imposed on us here in the U.S. This music is healthy and should be here forever.
Its so hard to describe. My name is Kelly, my eyes are blue and my hair was red and that should explain it all. When i hear this music and Gaelge and look on these angelic faces sometimes i burst into tears and cry out from my very soul i want to go home, though ive never been to Eire.
Dublin College of Choral Studies makes some really nice songs. I don't understand all the words, which is a shame, but I still enjoy listening to these songs. Greetings from Germany and all of you stay healthy.
Magniicent,,,the interfusion of traditional and classical,,,just as music was before the C17,,,,the past is the future, As the Yanks like to say,,,Jimmie Joyce would be proud,,,he was a lover of the traditional and the classical, Proud also would be G,M, Hopkins,,no mean composer himself,,,and music lovers Thomas MacDonagh and Cardinal Newman,,,all four teachers/students at UCD, Choral Scholars,,you have a great tradition
Such a good job! My favorite music! I love Irish music! This group of young people (and the Director) and the instruments do such an outstanding job of keeping their cultural heritage alive! Wish I was Irish! Keep up the good work!
2100 v 43 is rather good for YT. There's always people online suffering from hemorrhoids, fecal impaction, other maladies so they take it out on uploads!
Wow, your songs never fail to amaze me... I'm really hoping to get into UCD this year... And hopefully I can join the choral scholars too #crossesfingers
Had me great grandparents not emigrated after the famine and stuck around in Co Kildare, who knows, my son might have gone to UCD instead of Melbourne University, indeed so might I have too, and he might even have had a far better voice than he has. That UCD Choral Scholars has to be the best Uni Choral Club in the World.
Just beautiful singing and music playing love to hear this kind of music and makes you want to get up and dance or fall in love again I give them all five star excellent ⭐❤️🍀🇨🇮💯

These kids should represent Ireland in the European song contest! If they did the rest of Europe could stay at home. They are incredible.
I fully agree ! 12 points from France !!!
That competition wouldn't do them justice, they're so much better than that... 😁👍
F*ck yeah... if quality like this would be delivered at the ESC I would actually watch it again...
They are too normal for that contest....
"These kids should represent Ireland in the European song contest" Good god no, why should they degrade themselves like that

Your a daisy if you do.
Forcing others to listen to your favorite music is immature and antisocial.
@@peternolan4107 The sun shines on us all.....cheer up!
"Our"
I hope very much that you can keep hold of your culture better than we’re doing here in England! Good luck!
My ears are happy, from Salt Lake City, Utah
Hey! A fellow Utahn!
I'd give a lot to be back in college and singing with them.
How can anyone not love Irish music?

I love everything they have done so far, their singing simply speaks volumes to my soul. All I do is smile whenever I put them on.

Could this be one of the greatest of all the Choral Scholars of UCD choirs? I think so. A song full of life and joy. Wonderful.
Would love to have this on CD. I can hardly go a week without listening to this uplifting song. A great way to start the day!!
Please continue uploading videos of this particular group of coral. All these traditional songs sound great. Congratulations from Spain.

The Irish sure know how to sing and make music! Love from Savannah Georgia, USA.
I love this music. These talented young people make me feel like I'm going home to place I've never visited.
3 seconds in, and I start smiling. I love music of the Irish!
This is just the encouragement I needed today. "Up she rises free and clear, sailing easy".

Such an eloquent compliment, and I echo them, completely.

Hi from Down Under. Wonderful music. Great singing!
I can not stop listening to this for weeks.
Bless them! ...everyday
I can't express how much I enjoy this song!
I sail as a hobby, both sea and inland waters. This song puts me in touch with what it is like.
I'm hooked on to it... there should be a disclaimer before the song, it is extremely addictive... out of the world performance guys!!!! incredible!!!!

Love the maritime subject of the song, perfect to set sail out of an Irish port with.....great melody and ensemble playing/signing from all involved.
