Angeli Pangilinan, Gary's wife shared in an interview that back in 1986, Gary was 22 that time wanted to compose a song. He has this habit of putting down the music first before making the lyrics. Gary doesn't have lyrics to it so he asked his wife for advise. His wife asked him what kind of song he wanted to compose this time. Then Gary said a prayer song. Angeli simply asked Gary if he already prayed for it and he answered no. She said to him how he can write a prayer/Christian song and not pray for it? So Gary did pray for it while in the studio. And just like that, an hour later the song was born.
