  • The Pokudinding is a traditional dance of the Dusun Tindal ethnic group from Kampung Piasau, Kota Belud (in Sabah, Malaysia), which has been practiced since the 1980s. The essence of this dance revolves around the myth of welcoming the rice harvest. The bountiful rice harvest is placed in a "tangkob". Due to its excessive weight, it causes the walls of the house to tilt and requires support from columns.
Farmers, who appreciate such a plentiful harvest, dance with gratitude. It is through this dance movement that the Pokudinding dance was created. Usually, the Pokudinding dance consists of four pairs (8 participants) or five pairs (10 participants) during performance.
During the presentation of the Pokudinding dance, traditional musical instruments such as tawag-tawag (2), janang (2), gandang drums (2), and a set of kulintangan (12 pieces) are played by seven musicians along with a langgangan (1) for arranging the kulintangan.
