You're right about speed, it should be torque over speed. A lot of people seem to buy an ebike for the wrong reason.
👍👍
I used engwe's bmx bar as I like the adjustment it has. Too low down and my wrists ache too much I still like the upright riding position. I put an adjustable riser on my kona mtb as it was way too down. It brings it backwards and up by about 2 inches and makes it more comfortable on the arms. I think the torque sensor is better for battery life than the cadence on my engine x. Haven't been out on mine for a while but I still enjoy it when I do. Engwe are getting better in terms of quality control and customer service. They are finally listening.
👍👍
Hi, great video. I put bmx on mine & she handles very well. I put a 2000wt motor & 60 volt battery on her too, upgraded hydraulic breaks & slime in the inner tube. She goes 45mph & she's under the radar, stelf looking bike, ride safe brother ❤
You have done some nice upgrades 👍
Hi there I live near to were you rode in this video its a great place to ride,I've got the 1st engwe engine and I love it,had it two years now unfortunately my battery now cuts out when it's down to 30 percent gutted its so expensive to buy a new battery and to get a 16 v engwe battery is almost impossible there never in stock such a pity because I love this bike, take care
@@stevehegarty5394 👍👍
I have the Mk1 version and bought the BMX style bars from engwe which still allows them to folded as I do put mine in the car alot. Mine is very powerful and shows upto 1400w on display with loads of torque so bet the Mk2 is great.
It is a great ebike 👍
@@baconbuttties Funny I was in the same forest track a while back came up from Machen side.
@@GAZOD 👍👍
Great comment if you drive of a cliff it will be quicker, made my day that😂😂😂😂
😁👍👍
The main point of contention was UK version was unlockable above 15.5 MPH & deactivated throttle. You didn't clear that point up. £1500 is a lot to pay to be disappointed. The Z20 PVY + has 100Nm torque & unlockable to 30 MPH @ a cool £1150.
Anything can be unlocked, you just need to know how to do it.
The bike looks fantastic with those new bars.
I suppose you could still fold the bike by taking the bars off the stem and using a bungee to hold them to the frame. Is that a good idea, in your view, Mr Bacon?
You can buy a folding stem from engwe
Top video bought two E26’s mainly off roading been trying to find out how to unlock speed without success then found this cheers pal very helpful. Can you advise how to turn it back also thanks
I'm sure it's the same procedure to reverse it on the E26
A definite mod, looks lot better than the one pole stick. I told Engwe to put bmx bars on and they will send up the chain. With Bmx bar you could also adjust the angle. Do you have to cut the bar if you want to lower it from stock height?
@@rossishima Which bar?
@@baconbuttties The one that you used. Checked the Engwe site and like you said they do have kit for the eng pro . Your video helpful as aesthetically I do not like the looks of the single pole stem.
@@rossishima yes they do a folding version. You can also mount the stem clamp I had directly to the fork stem if you don't want to use the riser
Yet another super video thank you have you ever made a video on Ebike batteries?such a topical subject at present, making me feel nervous at present as l have bought a battery from eBay the one l bought from Screwfix a Bosch 36 volt l feel much happier with if you have time l would appreciate your take on ebike batteries and chargers thank you
I tend not to go for the cheapest of cheap batteries as they are cheap for a reason. I think a lot of problems come from DIY modifications
@@baconbuttties thank you for your prompt reply l will take on board what you have said best regards Andrew
Im thinking of getting the l20 i enjoyed your review. . Im just a bit worried about range with the battery. How many miles do you average?
I didn't do a range test on the L20. Range depends on how you use it. Weight of rider, hills, throttle only etc.
Good vid 👍 what crash helmet are you wearing in this one?
It's a SixSixOne but you can't get the model I have anymore as its a few years old
Sorry found it now 😎👍

Hi ya , can you get road tyres for it not nobblys , and horses you do sound horn or ring bell before you get to them let the riders know your there other wise you can spook the horses more so on a normal bike
I have seen other ebikes with these wheels have road tyres. The best thing to do regarding horses is to ride as far on the opposite side and go slow.
@@baconbuttties with horses yep your right but let them know your there my mates daughter rides horses she said that bikes flying by is far worse than cars or motorbikes horses cant here them , as for tyres nobbles really drag the bike down
but that looks a good bit of kit how heavy is it
@@baconbuttties
If you're approaching from behind, horse riders definitely prefer you to ting your bell (or beep your horn) well before you get too close. I've had some sharp exchanges with nervous novices who often seem far more anxious than the horse they're sitting on.
Always better to play it safe and give plenty of warning!😅
Question, why did you only test the throttle on PaS 3 but used PaS 5 when peddling?
Throttle seems to be the same speed on any level, I will check though and get back to you.
Bonjour avez-vous la référence du disque de frein.
merci de France
It's in the video 👍👍 near the beginning of the video I show the reference number.
Shame this isn't street legal or I'd have one in a minute.
Can I ask how do these bikes hold up with regards to cycling in the rain ?
Are they completely waterproof or will the electrics malfunction and die if I'm out riding one and I get caught in a torrential downpour ?
From Engwe.
To sum it up, if you’re wondering “can you ride an electric bike in the rain?”, the answer is yes, as long as you take the necessary precautions and maintain your e-bike after every wet ride.
@@baconbutttiesI use liquid tape it's awesome stuff I've done a lot of wiring to accommodate a second battery and power analyser on my x and I also use dielectric grease on the juliet connector as it stops the pins from corroding and because it's non conductive it won't arc between the the connections. I also use self fusing tape to as it doesn't unravel like conventional electric tape. A lot you can do to keep water away from the components.
It looks like this kind of bars doesn't give you the proper position you are supposed to have on a mtb.
Can you explain what you mean by proper position.

well, not an honest review - or just not enough experience with the bike. I have a same model for almost 1 year . So you'll be experiencing famous Chinese quality: screws get rusty after 4 rains, misaligned brake callipers, noise from the motor starts to appear when you're going up to the hill in 2-3 months . And speed of the bike is different depends on the battery charge. And Chinese manufacture dose not provide real numbers for power ...Zero support. But cheap and not bad as a first e-bike. But no way to buy it again ))
It's an honest review, so your first sentence implies I'm a liar. Also screws get rusty on all bikes if used in the rain unless they are A4 marine grade stainless.
@@baconbuttties Look, nothing personal - just sick of not comprehensive reviewers - if you got paid for this. Pls. make a disclaimer. People can make a purchase decision based on your review - and they will regret. Pls bear it in mind. And pls do not try to please the brand - they need to produce decent goods and not saving money on each component and customer service. About screws - not true - I have an experience with non electrical bikes - no way that after 4 rains you will have rust - same about motorbikes. Famous Chinese quality - everyone knows going from unreliable materials. Sorry again - but pls provide also real info in your video - Be Real ! This is not a WOW e-bike as it seems from your review
@@Drone360pilot I don't get paid for it, I do get to keep the bike.
Watch the start of the video and it will clearly say paid promotion which I always click. My reviews are always honest and please keep in mind that I am reviewing new ebikes not 12 month old ebikes that have been used in all weathers.
