    Man.. I’ll tell you why I subscribed to your channel. I am an Advanced engineer but always looking to learn. You simplify some very detailed techniques in a way that’s not that easy to explain. You’re very good at what you do and you teach incredibly well. Good job bro.

      WTF's an "Advanced engineer?" 🤔 Yes he dumbs it down well to where even an infant can understand

    I have always does subtractive EQ before compressing inside my vocal chain. I don't know if I was just lazy or ignorant -- de messing is literally subtractive EQ. Just spent the entire day working on some vocals, with the de esser as my FIRST plug in. Total game changer!!!

    • @tylerdengler6960
      @tylerdengler6960 2 роки тому

      De-easing acts like a subtractive EQ, but all it’s doing is compressing the constants of the vocal instead of attenuating the problematic frequencies.

    Hey, good job, man. As someone who has struggled with sibilance, I appreciate this. I have done everything you mention, and I still have issues, to the point where I have gone in and manually turned down the esses. I do think many of today's condenser mic's are pretty sibilant for alot of vocalists. I am starting to use a ribbon mic for my voice, and my general impression, so far, is it seems to record a smoother version of my voice, with a noticeably better sibilant characteristic. Will know lot more soon.
