Hey Reggie, great content. JRL had this feature in another clipper that was released years ago. It’s just a slow a way of charging the battery. So the battery life lasts longer. It really is a good feature.
The slow charge is same like a lot of devices to preserved battery longevity. It removes all of the battery then recharge from 0 battery. I would say throughout the day use rapid. When you dock it at the end of your shift, place it on slow charge.
The IQ reset charging is a feature that when you press the button on the charging dock it completely drains the battery then recharge it to a full charge so the theory is that it will make the clipper battery last longer they recommend that you only do it once a week
I had to sell my JRL 2020C recently. It just started to bog down and not go through my hair. Even though, I cut my own hair every 2-3 weeks. Picked up the Stylecraft Rogue and so far it feels much better in the hands.
@@matufamenulis8527 Yes sir. When I first get a new clipper, I charge it fully then apply oil. After that it's ready to go. I then cut my hair and after I disinfect then oil it after. That is my experience with this clipper. Jury is still out on the Rogue but it feels better in the hand than the JRL. Minus the bogging down the JRL is a beast though.
probably doesnt use oil. Ive had my 2020c for 2 years and i have two of them and they work the same as day 1. Only the battery dies a little quicker but nothing crazy thats just what happens over time
The click lever is different, fast charging the battery all the time will degrade the battery faster. Also, the Onyx is a little bit shorter that the originals. It's really just a revamped 2020c. If you don't have a 2020 this might be the one to get... or the originals might drop in price and that's still a solid clipper. Reggie, if you give this one away I'll definitely take it
The instincts battery is the same if the motor has to kick up the battery drains faster. If you use the high speed setting the entire time the jrl will last less time
my guess is some barbers will leave it on the regular 5 hour slow charge to preserve the battery when they leave the shop.. and the ones who use it to rapid charge might be back earlier.. idk
Yeah the battery iq drains your battery and then re charges it like your suppose to with lithium ion batteries. It makes the battery last longer then normal
Hey Reggie great review but jrl is just china junk same as stylecraft and babyliss wast of money jrl cheap front cover broke on the 2020c just cleaning it with a brush.if u want clippers that last and are reliable purchase wahl instead and usa made.
not a fan of this release. expected a better product on an already great clipper but the “new” features imo aren’t worth the cash. disappointing to see this while babyliss drops the fxone line soon.
its 30 dollars more than the old ones. Id say its worth the price as long as you dont already have a 2020c its just an upgraded version for 30 dollars more
@noegalvan6493 Nah its just an upgrade. The original was already really good not much more they could do with it without creating a totally new clipper from the ground up
Cmon Reggie you gotta read the fine print, the IQ charge is for battery longevity so that it doesn’t degenerate over time, compared to fast charge if you want quick juice.
And stylecraft copied Panasonic with there motor in evo and instinct no innovation with there clippers as they like people to believe evo shape is also copied from Panasonic er gp 80 to 86 models they came out in 2013 10 000 spm.the Chinese company’s just copy 😂as it’s cheaper to copy than innovate themselves which costs more that’s why there clippers break but I understand certain people get paid for these reviews and won’t tell people the truth.jrl also copied the onyx name from another clipper currently on Amazon but it’s another china brand so copyright obviously doasnt apply to certain country’s.and babyliss lie about there battery run times they don’t last even half the runtime what they say the interchangeable batteries are trash cheap junk wahl came out with those for moser in Germany since 2014 and they are better quality babyliss telling people there innovative with those is a lie.if you want a quiet clipper stick with corded oster fast feed or wahl senior corded
I agree, most barbers just follow the hype from yt barbers and are in denial about the fact they spend $300 on a supermarket clipper with “interchangeable lids” the only person/company who is honest about this is tpob

Hi Reggie,
That black plastic that you inserted in between the blades to clean them up, I’m pretty sure that’s their zero gabbing tool.
it is i like it to clean the inside the blade also

how is that possible if i cut 8 people a day with no problem. do you use clipper oil?

My 9V rouges just got delivered today. So stoked to try them out.

I need these tbh basically a more quiet and better designed instinct.
How does the new blade compare to the original

Nice set to me, look solid, looks like it will last for awhile. Good review, mama loves her baby 😘

I definitely believe that. I don’t think many barbers will even think about switching it at all
Is it true the Wahl premium guards rattle on them? I heard they did. Also do you know what the throw is one them? A 1? A .5?
I’m good with these clippers. They’re made cheap inside. They kept breaking on me and they’re not strong.
i like the new look! im a long time fan of the old jrl 2020c ...thank u sir
I’m excited to see you use the clippers.
Does the onyx have a stretch bracket?
The 3 or 5 hour battery life depends on which speed you are using i think
It extends the battery health and life of the clipper.
Hello, is it a replacement model or additional to the range?
Come back after You use these things and rate them on a scale of 1-10 use them 1st its Me from California
Ok so the patent charger when charging slow in helps prolong the batterie life so I wonder if it will work with all there other 2020 c clippers
We gonna find out for sure
Does it work on the least good

mines is being deliveried this week!
Quero comprar essa jrl
