      @@SpaGuy Hi, Billy. I just watched the 10th anniversary documentary from ‘87 where they played a lot of clips of interviews with Elvis. Didn’t he say in his Graceland return interview that he only left Germany once to go to Paris and he never ate out, he always ate at home or at the mess hall? That would seem to fit with your conclusion also.

    Thank you for sharing Billy. I don`t think either that Elvis was to Breda in a Army Jeep. I`m sure we in Norway had hear about it if Elvis was in Breda. But that was a touching story thoo.

      He sent presents via elvis to his family. Colonel was in the USA. So I think it’s nice. He sent gifts to his family through Elvis to deliver them personally. I think that’s sweet.

    It was very interesting good job 👍👏, I still ask myself this question, so how could Elvis not be able to tour outside the United States, what was the real reason?🤔

    • @sandralybrand9407
      @sandralybrand9407 3 роки тому

      The real reason came out years after Elvis death. Colonel Parker wasn't who he said he was, he was an illegal alien that snuck into the USA. He deserted the Dutch service, and the story goes a young lady was found dead and that's what he was running from. He never once went to Germany when Elvis was there because he was afraid of being deported. That's why he wouldn't let Elvis tour overseas. He convinced Elvis that security wouldn't be good enough. But Elvis always wanted to tour overseas!

    • @rosehoary8906
      @rosehoary8906 3 роки тому

      @@sandralybrand9407 I also heard this
      It's hard to believe Elvis has been unaware of such an important issue for so many years! Assuming that was the case, why didn't Elvis travel to other countries, I don't think this issue is related to the manager!

    Billy, thanks for your compliments about Holland and it´s people. You must know, we Dutchy´s are pretty shy on camera ( many people that is) On the other hand I must admit that I met many American tourists here. They all were very kind and generous to Holland and our culture. They love Dutch souvenirs like lil wooden shoes and mills etc. And you Billy, it's an honor to me that you visited Holland as well. I am a Cash fan from the first hour and love Elvis too. Not sure if Elvis ever toured here?? John and Tom were here a few times and both are friendly common people to deal with. Long comment but I really do like the USA. Always. With love from Holland Rick*

    Another great travelogue Spa Guy, even if as you say it seems unlikely to be true. Did you ever hear the story that Elvis visited London during his time in Germany and was taken around in a taxi by English singer Tommy Steele? It was a story that came out in the UK about 15 years ago. Best wishes Mike. 🇬🇧

    So the rumor is, that Col Parker asked Elvis to go to Breda to deliver a letter to Colonel's mother. It's not out of the realm of possibility that Elvis would have gone there, as Breda is not far from Bad Nauheim. But as much as every detail of his life has been scrutinized, I think we would have heard about it if it happened. At least one of his friends would have known and talked about it.

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  3 роки тому +1

      Breda back then would have been 6-7 hours one way and he would have had to cross the German border.. Not possible.. I have found many myths in Europe about Elvis in my travels.. They say he went to England and toured around with Tommy Steele and that he was in Helsinki Finland at the train station I did a story about the album cover showing Elvis there.. None are true.. If they were we would not even be debating them they would be well known stories worldwide.. ua-cam.com/video/CQvFfh5XRtM/v-deo.html

    Colonel Parker was an American until 1961, always claiming that he was born in Huntington, West Virginia, to traveling circus performers. My opinion is that Elvis heard the story that Col. Parker was born in Holland at the earliest back in 1961. In summary: Elvis unfortunately never visited Breda Holland.

    Just a little piece of information. 11:11 - André Hazes is a very famous singer in Holland who sadly passes away in 2004. He was a very big fan of B.B. King and also had the honour of meeting him (footage here: ua-cam.com/video/m6UDvJEPsP4/v-deo.html). As you can tell he was very nervous to meet his big Idol. He usually sang Dutch tearjerkers but also recorded a Blues album of which he was very proud.

    Just looking at it that town reminds me alot of midwestern tourist cities. Same type of vibe and buildings. Just language is different. The Dutch seem a little reserved. Just their nature I guess. Alot like older parts of cities in U.S. That is the first impression I get. Same look to the buildings.

    When my dad was in the army in Germany 56 to 1960 he was all over Europe even the Russian zones so there is no reason why Elvis could not of been to Holland London Paris and Belgium and Spain he was not in the news men’s view 24/7 all the time and he only had to tell the boys to zip it and we know the colonel could zip it he did it everyday in the states....you should phone Tommy Steele in the London area and he will tell you were he took Elvis....
