I want to like this Sequoia, but the rear cargo silliness with the shelf and ridiculously high folding seats/load-floor are total deal breakers. That 3rd row needs to be lower like every other SUV to ensure maximum cargo volume. Sorry Toyota.

Prayer request - that I find a new passion which invigorates my soul in my retirement (and spouse would be extra nice) thanks for offering a prayer request. Enjoyed the review, planning my next vehicle purchase in 1-3 years from now! VERY helpful. I AM a "prepper" and do want both luxury and excellent OFF ROAD capability "just in case" ever needed. Which toyota would you recomment for that? Roll over safety is paramount for me. My Ford Explorer and Sequoia have = ratings in collision & roll over - I do want more cab luxury features/stereo system/cameras...also you didn't mention glove compartment was there not one?
For starters, I will pray! I think the Sequoia TRD Off Road is an excellent choice for luxury/off road tech! It’s frankly an excellent SUV, but the Explorer also offers a Timberland trim (I think it’s called that) that gives you some more off-roady goodness. It all depends on how often you’re looking to go Off road. Also yes there is a glovebox, sometimes I forget to show that!

Land Cruiser was more expensive when available in US, and still is more expensive outside the US.
