I love the idea to act "as if" my various fears and faults had already been wiped out by the ongoing work oh the Holy Spirit 🙏 Thank you so much for that insight!
I think fear is one of the biggest problems of men. It is good sometimes but harm us most of the time. It causes anxiety, depression and sometimes death. It reduces or prevents the chance of us being successful. The angel of God telling holy mother of God to not be afraid when he appeared to her, tells how weak the human body can be. I know people say it's because of the nature of angels. Fear is generally part of humans but overcoming our fears makes us great.
God doesn't want you to be afraid but that does not mean you will not experience fear in life. I think of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and I don't feel alone in my fear. It is ok to be afraid. It does not mean God loves you any less.
Thank you Mother Natalia. I really, really needed this. I am not Catholic but so resonated with everything that you said. I will strive to pursue Godly fear and live as if I didn’t have any other fear. Thank you.
It's awesome that you're doing this video because this is something the Lord has been working on with me. I realized my anxiety is because of my fears. That was the first step He wanted to make clear. So I started to just pray all my fears to Him, giving Him my fears. Which helped so much. So then I had a dream. In the middle of another dream, a little girl who I knew was an angel was standing in the middle of this large bathroom which was apart of the dream I was having at the time. She said something like, nothing is more important in comparison to your relationship with God. Then she showed me VERY rocky water and the water turned totally calm. So! The night before that dream, I told God that maybe it would be better to pray to Him in the morning because I don't think all of my thoughts are that important and I'll just wait until I'm not just a jumbled mess talking to Him in prayer. Clearly that dream was like, no! Your relationship with me is the most important. Pray your messy prayer! 😂😂 So, this video is a great reminder that our relationship is what God does actually WANT. Messy from us, giving our fears up to Him. Depending on Him.
Great approach on the topic. Inspiring and motivating. And I disagree the approach from 12 steps was anyhow oversimplifying. "As if" is the solid way to handle anxiety, troubled self-esteem and fear. I tend to say "If I fear doing this, I will do this feeling fear", this really disarms the power of pride.
Im afraid of losing his favor and dying in disgrace, irrational I know, since he is all loving and merciful and me making it this far in life proves it
I've been struggling with scrupulosity for many years so I'd say I'm very, very much afraid of the Lord and of hell which is why I try so hard to make a good confession but all the stress involved often backfires.. Confession is an anxiety filled situation and I wish it wasn't. Being so scared is not bringing me closer to the Lord and that terrifies me even more because I don't see a way out sometimes. I have goodwill. I won't give up.. That's all that gives me hope sometimes. I also hope to help those that are struggling with this one day, when I get better. Thank you for this video! It has definitely given me food for thought.
I think you might be psychic mother natalia. I have been feeling afraid of my future to the point of being mentally paralyzed. Thank you glory to Jesus Christ!
Hello Mother, Thank you for the "What if" strategy. I have tried that for a couple of days now at key moments, and it seems to give me a different outlook on how I am thinking of or responding to a situation. Also, you asked to add in comments about how we try to stay in constant prayer or as you say," turn back to God" throughout the day. I like to say the Jesus prayer, or just say Jesus I love you. And also (I got this one from you) I will say Glory to Jesus Christ. I also intend to pray the Angelus at 6am during work days. I have a reminder set on my phone, some days I get to pray it, some days due to the nature of my work, I do not. Thank you for your videos, I find them helpful in my growth as a disciple... Please keep up the good work... Glory to Jesus Christ!

Two great lessons to remember everyday: Always assume a misunderstanding (from Fr. Ripperger) and what Mother is basically saying here. Fake it till you make it.
GOD works in different people in our lives, he is working in Mother Natalia to make the world a better place. God is love, his perfect Love cast out fear. He loves us more than we can ever imagine.
For me the fear of the Lord is the fear of offending Him not because of the punishment but because when you love Him, you'd be afraid to offend Him, to make him angry, upset. It's different when we fall because of our weaknesses but to offend Him (sin) on purpose then we need to grow in our love for Him
Now Sir Saint Thomas More was in a similar situation concerning Henry VIII, the break with Rome, and the marriage with Queen Anne. He did a 180 from Pilot's position, and enbraced the truth, knowing that the Fear of the Lord would get him to Heaven.
Fear of the Lord really *does* become the single biggest cause of true hatred of God- not pride as sacred scripture falsely claims, but fear of the lord, even awe for God does actually bring man to hate God- and it in no way is man trying to replace God, but rather to eliminate the place of God and to have no supreme good, nor any kind of a god at all as the rightful results of that end up in.
Interestingly, Pilate was no battlefield coward; and he had a darn-near-ideal inroad into Caesar's mindset: his wife was Caesar's blood kinswoman; he was his inlaw- that's actually a *huge* direct means to deal with this situation. When I read that, and this's not absolutely accurate, the passion narrative does seem to indicate that Pilate seemed to suspect that Christ had a death-wish; the whipping he ordered to be done to Him does seem to indicate that he's trying to wake a man up whom he fears wants to die- not a good solution, but the aim appears to be to wake a man up who appears to be going suicidal; as in "This's HORRIBLE; I've seen men die, it is NEVER pleasant to observe, why would you want that?" kind of argument; and his appeal to a claim of being able to release Him could come into the perspective of releasing Him of any legal troubles with Caesar right then and there- as his agent in the district; and he does say that he has found no felony in Him that comes anywhere near meriting death.
Actually, as you're suggesting *lying*, that's not going to be done, regardless of the fruits- for we are not permitted to lie, even by our deeds to gain virtues; infinitely more moral it is to wind up in Hell for not having had the necessary virtues than to become delusional about our assets to gain Heaven by effect! Honesty is that important in and of itself. As for how fear works: it forcibly separates us from God- and rightly so; as does humility due to how He is described as the "most high" and thus forever cut off from us.
Thich Nhat Han. You let "particles" go through you. Lower your breathing, straighten your posture. It doesn't matter that *usually* you don't breathe low, or your posture isn't straight. The very moment you remind yourself of these, you're back home.
Bad title. "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." And yes, we certainly should fear punishment in hell. "I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell." To deny this is heresy, not to mention inhuman and stupid. Even our Lord, God incarnate, in the garden of Gethsemane was so exposed to dread of his coming passion that he sweated blood. Fear in scripture is overwhelmingly a good thing, commanded by God. Again, bad title.
