- 桜の名所としても有名な哲学の道を散策いたしました。桜はまだ満開というわけではなさそうでしたが、久しぶりに銀閣寺周辺を散策できました。
Philosopher's Path（哲学の道） is a sidewalk along the Lake Biwa Canal in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto.

I walked there many times as a tourist, and year after year I meet the same artist sitting painting at a small bridge. And every time I buy one or two of his prints. Beautiful little pieces. Please say 'hello' from me next time you go there. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I just love this area, it's so beautiful and calm (even though there can be lots of ppl). I visited this in 2017 spring and ended up walking all the way to Maruyama park, it was really nice evening walk :)

なるほど昔の文人や哲学者がここを歩いて色々な物語や哲学について考え歩いていた気持ちが少しだけわかるような気がします。多少整備こそされているものの川を中心とした昔ながらの風景は京都ならではで、どこまでも続く桜の木を眺めながら歩いていると世間の嫌な事もすっかり忘れそうになりますね。
こちらはまだ桜の季節は1ヵ月程先ですが一足早い桜の便りをありがとうございました^^

I walked the path last September (22-nd) ,I remember b!ecause next day I ran to Osaka to see the 47 Kansai marching contest.Walking that path has a very calming effect and the athmosphere is peacefull which was perfectly captured by your video.Well done !

おはようございます😊花曇りの哲学の桜道良いですね✨✨いつもながら様々なアングル、そして、カットの切り替えが小気味良いです。人が結構いてもAnna さんの世界は静まりかえっています。桜を撮ってもAnna ワールドは健在です✨✨すごいなあ❣️私も桜を見るロケーションで一番好きなのが疏水のような小さな川沿いです。昔、下鴨の方の疏水沿いも美しかったです🌸長らく行けていません。

なかなか植物を撮る機会がなくあまり自身がないのですがお褒め頂きとても自信につながりました！！私も疎水やホタルが生息できるような小川が大好きです。足を水に浸して一日中本を読んでいたいです。また南禅寺の水路閣を歩ければいいなと思います！！

I got a chance to walk it in the fall and met a friendly tabby cat! Seeing it in the spring is so nice, but a bit crowded.

ここの桜は日本画家の寄贈から始まってるんですね。何度か手入れ、植え替えがあって現在に至るらしいです。桜満開のトンネルも良いけどこういう風景も落ち着きますね。
寄贈から始まったとは知りませんでした。橋本関雪という方のようですね。改めて調べてみたいと思います！！たまには、満開前の桜も雰囲気があっていいですね😊

ニューヨーク在住ですが、その辺りで育ちました。昭和25年ごろ疎水端を毎日歩いて、蹴上から出たところに作ってあった水泳プールに通いましたが、まだ「哲学の道」という呼び名はなく、人通りもほとんどなく、夕方歩くとコンと狐が出てきそうで怖かったです。

南禅寺の水路閣ですか。臆病な中学生だった私は水路閣の上を歩くのが怖かったのですが、友だちに笑われるのが嫌で決死隊になったような気分で歩きました。ところが何度も歩いてるうちに平気になり、スイスイと小走りに行けるようになりました。当時、水流の上には渡しのような柵はついていなかったように思います。
私の父の墓は法然院にあります。

最近の水路閣は上を歩けないようでとても残念です。
法然院は谷崎先生のファンということもあり、度々訪れることがございます！！

そうですか。私は高1のとき、下鴨神社の参道に引っ越しました。谷崎先生は糺の森の潺湲亭に住んでおられ、小川の橋のあたりをよく散歩しておられました。熱海に転居される前です。
後に、昨年亡くなられたドナルド・キーン先生と同じコロンビア大学の教員アパートに1974年から6年間住みました。キーン先生にはよく睨まれましたが、先生の図書室から谷崎潤一郎全集や高見順全集を全集を全部借りてきて読みました。

桜は外国でも知れ渡っているのか、京都はすごいことになっています。比較的穴場の蹴上の公園でお昼を食べるのがお気に入りなのですが、今やここも外国の人だらけ。哲学の道でわらびもち売ってたおばさんも、「半分以上外国の人よ」と。枝垂れ桜の淡いピンク色の花が青空に映えとっても綺麗でした。

I remember walking down this path with her, wondering aloud why it was called "The Philosopher's Path" merely from its appearance. Now, years later, seeing this path again after having lost the love of my life, the profound thoughts and memories of philosophers, pondering over things long gone-yet never truly absent-bloom in my mind.
彼女とこの道を歩いたことを思い出します。その外観だけで「哲学の道」とどうして名付けられたのか、大声で尋ねたことがあります。今、数年後、人生の愛を失って、この道を再び見たとき、かつてなくなったものについて考えた哲学者たちの深い思いや記憶が、決して本当には消え去らなかったものについて熟考するかのように、私の心に咲きます。

実は学生時代、青臭い哲学青年だったのです。
ご存じかも知れませんが京大の西田幾多郎先生が思索しながら散歩されたので、哲学の道 と名が付きました。
西田先生の著書 善の研究 もその当時読んだ記憶があります。
片思いの彼女の家も哲学の道の近くに有り、我が青春の聖地ですね。
