You're welcome! Rediscovering a song that you haven't listened to in a while is always the best feeling!
It felt like a song I was looking for my whole life
Bro I know the feeling
Finally finding the song after hearing it is better than fucking sex
@@AgelessIlluminate Shazam helps a little
Her’s has a lot of great tracks with addictive riff from both guitar and bass
🥀
Stephen and Audun never seemed to disappoint
as someone who plays both guitar and bass their music is always the most interesting, inspiring, and difficult songs to play and they are my favorite band. rip 💐
gota love hers
rip hers ;-;
So happy that backseat lovers get recognized. They are incredible
Yes for sure, songs like pool house and heavy show how cracked they are at guitar even better than Kilby girl
@@elijahleblanc6489 maple syrup is a goat
They are my absolute favorite band. Every single song is special to me and they are unbelievable live too. I love the song “Just a Boy” and “Elevator Days” the most
Drowsy - Banes world
Black - Professor Caveman
Jackies 15 - Jordana
Ramen Waitress - High Sunn
Thy Mission - The Garden
Believe - Dameer
Talk About It - Kate Bollinger
They all easily deserve to be on this list
RAMEN WAITRESS YES
Wow, it really goes to show how influential Johnny Marr was
fr like sm of this reminded me of some of the smith's tracks
He was a game changing inspiration for me wen I picked up guitar!
This list is dope, although I would say this list consists of a very specific type of indie music, mostly happy upbeat indie. Lots of other greats, I think Snail Mail deserves a mention, she rips the guitar. Real Estate too!
Oath snail mail is different gravy
I just love this is in my recommendations because I have literally all these songs on my playlists so the existence of this means my music taste is VALID AF.
Bro loved the list but it's a shame the solo in Tommy's party isn't on the list
greatest indie song I've ever heard
Thank you for this list! Such a good mix of music that I hadn’t yet heard for the most part.
Wow this list is perfect, was both surprised and excited to see hippo campus and Mk.gee
I love the thumbnail including hello anxiety, one of the best riffs of all my existence
Thanks for this. Awesome guitar riffs
I haven’t heard phum in so long! Thank you for reminding me of his music
yooo did not expect to see Benee in here!!! She's tied with boy pablo for my favorite artist, I feel like Happen to Me is so underrated (I might be wrong, it seems like one of her deeper cuts to me at least before she made a video for it) so it's awesome you chose it ❤️❤️❤️
Yes! She's awesome! I'm actually going to see her next year when she goes on tour so I can't wait!!
@@puretunes2995 Omg thats awesome! From the live stage performances I've seen of her, she has amazing stage presence, but I don't really like how she overstylizes her singing live lol. I'm sure you'll have a great time, wish she could tour near me :)
god undercover martyn is such a BANGER
This is the video ive been needing all my life
So good!! Honestly discovered new artists here too, so thank you!! 🎶🎶
Thank you so much for this I always thought this was my favorite element in music but never really knew how to describe it or identify the sound--true audible nectar
YES. THIS COMMENT. MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
Peach pit has endlessly great guitar riffs
Mk. Gee and Far Caspian are so fucking awesome. Oh, who am I kidding, everyone in this list is incredible.
Thank you for this. Made my Indie playlist v v tasty. I honestly lost it when I saw Two Door Cinema Club, Mkgee and Kilby Girl, those are favourites 😭
Last Dinosaurs :(
How is this only at 4k views. I just got a whole new playlist for free lmao. Great songs

More of Hippocampus' discography deserved to be on here, they're so damn good

Knew most of them, but just found out gotta get away, what a banger
THANKS 😭
I swear this video is a compilation of all the indie songs I know how to play
I love indie it's very youthful!
I love ❤ i need moree
Hell yea, lately I found a few songs on Spotify but didn’t knew what type of genre it was and I couldn’t exactly categorize it, then I get recommended this. Thank you FBI agent listening in to my phone…
Maybe next you should put Castlebeat, Fazerdaze, Reality Club, Dayglow, and Last Dinosaur
The intro of Can i Call you Tonight definitely should be in here
i’d say current joys or surf curse deserve to be along the line somewhere 🤷🏼♂️ but great list none the less
COIN!!!!!!!! was not expecting that in here! and since this video has come out, they've written an even better riff with "chapstick"
Ode To Viceroy (Mac DeMarco) Backwards (The Rare Occasions)
they have a very good guitars
Love it
niiiice thanks!
Very coool!
Current joys deserves a mention
Thank you ❤😊
thanks
If you want a perfect indie riff, look up "Stars" by HUM and then go to 3 mins and 52 secs mark. There you go.
saved the best one for last
Frank Demarco's Freaming Out The Neighborhood is the best one
The first guy it's me when i listen rock with my airpods in public
Beach Bunny have many great guitar and bass riffs, especially during the breakdowns on some of their songs :)
THANK GOD someone else knows Vista Kicks
Found them recently and they are great
I didn't even realize that I already heard most of the artists here
thank!
guitarists in indie must be the most overlooked in the guitar ethos
Because they aren't always shredders or blues artists (that boomers love). but they write really catchy or "vibey" riffs, and while they may not always be the most technically advanced (kilby girl using 2 chords for the solo, but that solo being a banger live), they always work to get a crowd going, or a mood set
@@1stargazer12 amen. the most beloved guitarists outside the blues and shred in genres of indie and alt like Johnny Marr and Jeff Buckley and Ed and Jonny from Radiohead to name a few on top of my head, they were never known specifically for guitar prowess but their vibe and tone and all.
Yasss 🔥🔥🔥
Boy Pablo is goooooooooooood
Here’s some good ones:
Baldemar-Fell in green
Kisses- weekend in Brooklyn
Arbes - key largo
The cads - skin
Love Hala
insert mellow fellow - bestfriend
"Best Indie/Alternative Guitar Riffs"
I'm 1:54 minutes in and they've all been guitar solos? 😝
I'm still enjoying it though, good stuff.
I was waiting for hippo lol
Damn this song names are the definition of teenager
wallows also has great ones 👌
Not a single Parcels song? I hope there is a part 2
Definitely should’ve but Her’s medieval, what once was and she needs him are top notch

treacherous doctor by wallows deserves to be on here lol
wooo two kiwis!
sol del sur by sun room is a good one, too!
anything by last dinosaurs
to clarify, that's not a song title, they just have so many amazing riffs lol
PHUM VIPHURIT IS SO GOOD
No disrespect to the other artists, but one of the big thing this video shows me is just how huge Mac's influence on indie rock/pop has been.
Check out Audrey Tell Me by Juice, it's riff kinda 🔥
Oh yeah and for those looking for a deep dive in indie, check out my playlists
god I love boy pablo
post demarco core
I wanna know sorry’s tab
Is incredibly how all sound generic till freaking out the neighborhood starts, Mac is something else
You
should really hear "Ayer - Berserk" in spotify if you like this kind of riffs
Phum viphurit💕💕💕
