So many guys start with the crown. I remember a guy in France pounding a crown for 30 minutes on a large quarter panel hail dent. Once he started finally pushing the dent, all that force at the crown could be seen because the crown fell in to its own dent. I say always start where the initial force hit the metal, then if the crown is stubborn, knock it a down a little at a time in between progress on the dent
