Thanks Brother, it is a pretty cool slug. I think it should be reloaded with a little bit more velocity though lol. Man that sucks, slugs are my favorite thing to shoot out of shotguns. Bird/buckshot is still good though.
That 835 Slugger barrel will shoot a variety of slugs but you have to be careful what you put down it. If you're ever in peril about what to use... take a 1/2" dowel and push the load you are skeptical about up the barrel (beach first) and if it goes unobstructed, that projectile will function in that barrel. It is the narrowing cone in the barrel that causes the issue.
FYI Accuracy for these are better in the 1500-1700 range Using Roll crimp Fiocchi Hulls 2-3/4 . 24.7 grain International...FS12 gas seal 1540 FPS 36.0 Longshot x12X gas seal .. filler wad 14FW12 and 38W12 1741 FPS Using the Federal hulls in 2-3/4 its International powder 25.1 grains BRP-12 seal 1555 FPS That is a lot of powder even for a 3". I would reload them again and try to make your own accuracy load to play with ALL components can be found at Ballistics Products. My cousin puts the 38W12 cushion OVER the projectile and presses it down with a MEC. Then Roll crimps to that wax cushion stack. This prevents the tip of the projectile from sticking out into another round's primer. He claims he gets good groups even out to 50-yards and beyond.
Thanks for taking one apart and weighing the components! I’m still trying to recreate 20 GA sabots to use in my SAVAGE 220!
Very nice analysis of 12 gauge sabot 52.6 grains is very much powder it should be slow burning powder.
Thank you, its weird how the powder was clumped together.
@G V Z double base smokeless powder is nitrocellulose+nitroglycerin it is very powerful i think double base powder used in pistol /revolver ammunition
Very cool Slug Brother. I wish My shotgun could shoot slugs, but it can't. I have a Mossberg 835 Ultimag, with a back bored barrel.

@@TheBallistician Your Welcome Broher, Keep up the awesome work.
Ultimag is sweet!
Me too, but I just purchased a slug barrel for it for $130 on ebay

That was like a broken Donut of Slower burning powder placed in!
Pretty light & 3in! but 52gr of powder is odd
Ya really strange
How about a Remington 2 3/4" Accutip
You have anymore factory .500
Sabots you can put in the RSS-12 or BLS-12 carriers?
50 bls carriers are going to rule! + rss12 lbc & new molds
I still have like 95 of the 305 grain 50 cal copper trophy slugs from BPI.
And what were you trying to tell us ?
Awesome !!!
These seem like awesome slugs, cant wait to do more tests with them.
Beast sabot. Anyone have hunting expect with it?
My guess is they use Lil Gun powder.
It's gun powder
