Wonderful band and what a line up they had. I've been watching Glastonbury this weekend and these would blow most of the acts out of the water. We were really blessed to have bands like Squeeze and of course the inimitable Free

my mom’s girlfriend used to make “Tracy comps” and i found myself becoming addicted to her eclectic taste in music. i still have many of the cassettes. i find myself singing many of the tracks throughout the years. love this band though ❤️✊ reminds me of a wonderful time in my youth. miss you Tracy, rest easy
He quit the band...twice. Jools first left after the 1980 album "Argy Bargy", one of their BEST. Jools then came back in 1985 then left again after the 1989 very underrated album "Frank" for good.
@@KeithPudliner-ns3wq Paul Carrack was a better keyboardist and singer than all of them. He sang Tempted and it's easy to see why it's their biggest hit of all time. Paul Carrack is better than everyone else!
It may have been their biggest hit in a country that only accepted them for 2 songs, not in their native Britain where they had a string of top 40 hits which reached higher than Tempted. As great as Carrack was, you reckon a man handed the words, handed the music, and told "here, sing this" was their best? Then you'd love The X Factor, that's packed with singers. @@James-if3kc
That's Top of the Pops and the BBC for you. When Dexy's had a hit with 'Jackie Wilson said' They put up a giant billboard sized photo of him behind the band as they performed live. Only problem was, they put up a picture of Jockey WIlson. a fat Scottish darts player. That's the BBC for you. If they're not mixing up black American soul singers with obese middle aged white men, they're turning a blind eye while all the dj's fiddle with kids.
Possibly one of Britain's best ever bands. I listen to their greatest hits quite often. Labelled with love is my favourite.
Definitely storytelling at it's best.
All their songs are great stories. @@stephenpayne2151
Could almost make this song into a film, love the way they paint pictures in my head.❤❤❤❤
I saw them in Aberdeen last night, can’t get this song out of my head.
one word for this FANTASTIC

So long since I heard this song. Sitting alone in melancholy mood with bottle I wonder sad 😢 beautiful

Magnificicent song, but a very strange choice of model to play a haggared sixty-odd year old. Kind of contradicts the lyrics.

Mr Blue : this isn't Top Of The Pops. This is Dutch TV
@@mrblue193 well said re BBC however
@@mrblue193 I remember watching that !!
@@mrblue193 Jockey Wilson would have only been 32 when that Dexy's song came out, so he wasn't middle-aged.
Video is bad Tommy
