yamato was only spectating, didnt try to get aggro and pop evasion, nothing, but starts complaining while his warr is dying its not just pirate, so much went wrong
@@Chakabaka No one's saying its only on pirate, the whole group did pretty bad. Everyone is saying that he roached out and didn't try a single bit to help, thats it. Of course its not his fautl for the pulls or the lack of rogue stuns, but he could have easily help avoid those deaths with all the control his class has. And everyone is even harsher against him cause hes convinced hes in the right and hes smug and cocky about it.
True, but mage has the ultimate toolkit for CC and survival. He used nothing to help. And when Snupy was almost out, Pirate was still arguing on comms meanwhile one frost nova could have saved him. Pirate was never even in danger. Ice block with cold snap up. All around fail from Pirate and his subsequent attitude and ego trip is unbearable.
The wild thing is when trying to discuss this from a "everyone made mistakes". Im getting a lot of "stan", "simp", "glazing". And that its his fault on many threads / reddits. Like the only one here that performed here imo was the healer. Who sadly made the sacrifice to try and save others.
How come no one is mad that the rogue didn't admit to mistakes? The rogue literally rattled off every other persons mistakes and said his own mistake was "not stunning two ogres" (one of which is not cc'able). There's definitely a double standard here. It's easy to blame someone for running when you have vanish to get you out of a sticky situation.
he cast ice barrier 2-3 times also and blinks 2 times lol. He has a mana gem right there also by his spells,,,he sees it he knows,,,,hes perfectly calm no fast heart beating cause hes safe,,,at no point in time pirate had to fear for his life. Meanwhile Gimli comes running in and pulling orcs onto the fellowship. And Frodo sits on the ground, and makes some noise through the arm in his mouth asking "Gandalf why are you walking?"
I think its pretty simple why people blew this to way bigger proportion than it needed to be. The moment he pulled the "I'm right, you're wrong." card, and stopd on that, it was over. The moment he kept that going, everyone was going to scream louder and louder about how wrong he is. Either he accepts he was wrong, or they keep yelling. Just how the internet is.

You should talk over that, otherwise you're going to listen to someone rant nonstop over the same point. Classic debate tactic.
I think Pirate is an example of someone who knows what should be done in a situation, but when that situation finally appeared for himself, just instantly ditched all the protocol he preached and panicked

Even after they called to re-engage the druid gets told to just run again... doesn't and then pulls another pack. I don't really have a huge knowledge base about WoW, but idk why you don't just reset and go again with the entrance so close. Rogue saying "are you running bro!?" is not irrelevant banter. The mage running is vital information for the rest of the grp. If they know that the mage is gone EVERYTHING changes for them. Everybody is calling for the mastiffs to be killed but without the mage that call can't be executed. Pirate should've just answered clearly "yes" instead he answered with sarcasm and rhetorical questions, and further on started arguing and justifying the roaching whilst party members were still in the dungeon trying to survive.
He didn't call run tho. Someone called run twice and he did exactly what he was supposed to. Pirate isn’t solely responsible for what happened but to not even be able to take an ounce of accountability over pixels on a screen takes a special level of narcissism
His responsibility in this situation is close to zero. The rogue has done NOTHING except for standing close to the group. The druid ninja pulled while jumping from the ramp (which the major reason for the deaths). They should not have stopped. The issue is you're watching everything out of chronology and context. Yamato was incredibly rude to Pirate in a discord call between the party prior. Yamato only toned down later. Because what Asmongold said was inherently stupid, anyone who plays mage, hunter or warlock knows that was a salvageable situation. Turning off your brain and running was not the correct play since you can't outrun dungeon mobs without slows or CC.
@Infidel. the rogue actively did none of his CC. The druid but pulled another group. And let's start with the fact that they stuck around on stairs when pulling the boss in the first place so another pack of adds was added to the fight. So there were a total of 4 packs of mobs added to the fight all of them not his fault. And ontop of the run call being canceled which caused 2 of the pack adds AND send the dying tank back into the fight that the healer could've started healing once los was created from him running over the rand instead of standing still. Asmon`s main reason is prob cause hes defending his friend while being too ignorant to actually understand whats going on in that group
So can someone explain this more coherently? The boss was immune to CC, the Raid Leader screamed run away, Pirate ran away after he cast 1 blizzard and saw the Immune pop up, and everyone is having Drama over this?
He max rank blizzard for 1 tick which uses a ton of mana and does nothing. He could spam rank 1 blizzard endlessly and cc most of the mobs. A single nova slows down the mobs enough for the tank to walk the boss out. This is dad gamer levels of play, he really played this poorly and should've just apologized.
@lavalamp505 ok but unless im misunderstanding something here the group was already trying to flee, if he spammed Blizzard 1 he wouldve CCd the small guys but then the CC Immune Boss wouldve just walked over, punched him in the face, and he wouldve died so the group could flee? He's being canceled because ue didn't stand and die on Hardcore after the Tank and Raid Leader screwed the pooch?
It’s easy to armchair coach this, but in the moment there was a lot of confusion. The run away was called. This whole situation is laughably insignificant. This is minor guild drama that blew up for whatever reason. I was a GM for a raiding guild in TBC, if a “run away, we pulled too much, going to reset” is called, it’s every man for himself to get out. I couldn’t imagine at hardcore server stakes too. In normal situations, the tank would hold the mobs as long as possible to let everyone get out and spirit run back, but this is obviously not that. Ego’s got too big and no one backed off their side. It was ultimately good that he left the guild, but should have been an honest discussion between Pirate and Soda offline. Tell him that it’s best if he left on his own accord to help him save face and keep dignity. Soda making a grand gesture of it to churn content is gross.
@@lavalamp505 Solution run away reset then just pull again... Seriously any blame for the tank and what not for sitting there and just dieing because reasons? Litterally all of them have ways of getting away annnd they chose not too is on them for dieing.
@@bonel0rd326Hi, no. The tank had aggro on the boss and would have continued to take the hits while the healer keeps him alive, everyone walks out safely together because they have a Mage class capable of CCing the smaller mobs, who are the biggest problem.. Even in Softcore WoW, calling “run,” means we all walk out together. It means we take care of each other, CC the best we can, and slowly but safely move out. The reason for this, is that in Softcore corpse runs are typically long; dying is expensive; if armour is broken then even more time is wasted having to repair, and summon back at the stone m. In Hardcore, if it’s “every man for himself,” then someone will die, every time. Usually, first the tank or a high DPS, then next the healer. A Mage and/or a Hunter will always live. Rogue can Vanish in a pinch, and usually be safe. So, in Hardcore, we cannot have a concept such as “every man for himself,” that guaranteed will get someone killed, because then no one would play tanks or healers. No one would play with the player who roached out (Forrest Gumped out) of the instance. I fully agree, the tank, the Druid and the Rogue buggered up proper. They are newbies. Pirate plays a Mage. When the call for “run” happens, his role switches from DPS to controlling the battlefield. It is now his entire purpose to simply slow, root and polymorph whatever can be slowed, rooted and polymorphed. Nothing else matters. I also agree that zoning in on Pirates mistakes is kind of like saying “hey, why did you shoot those people? When the person asking just accidentally set off a nuclear missile. What matters is not the lack of proper play, what matters is the mindset of “I am super important;” “I am leaving you behind.” It’s his reaction, because if he gets invited to another group, we cannot trust him to try and help when it’s his literal role to do exactly that. It’s his inability to just admit fault. And then, it’s the fact that it seems to be a recurring theme. It keeps happening. And he keeps deflecting and putting his mistakes into others. I know that it sucks, I have been I similar situations, in which people made mistakes that got our group wiped, and then the first thing they do is zoom in on my gameplay. It sucks, because all I am thinking is “you have NO right to even look at me right now, and whatever mistakes I made, I will analyse and correct at a later time, you have no business talking about it and I have no desire to talk with you about it.” That is how I feel. But of course is not how I will act. Mostly because it’s super easy to just say “yup, I cocked it right up,” and then leave it at that. I don’t have much to prove to other people so I don’t feel the need to pursue these things. This is where Pirates ego comes into play. It shows people that playing with him is not going to be fun. The mistake itself is absolutely not a big deal. It is his reaction to it all that people dislike, and rightfully so.
Saw a comment on one of his YT Shorts, they were complaining about Pirate's 'mightier than thou' attitude, and while I didn't agree with it at the time, these clips convinced me otherwise. Turns out the guy is a huge nuisance.

ngl.... I've tried REALLY hard as somebody who has never played WoW to understand this drama and the more and more I watch, read, etc... the less I feel like this matters lol. Like... it looks like the whole team sucked and immediately the finger was pointed at Pirate so he got defensive... which, yea... duh. And instead of everybody just being like "damn, we sucked, let's move on" they pushed and pushed for Pirate to accept blame or apologize and he's apparently too hard-headed to apologize for his piece in things so ...... gkick lol. This whole drama is dumb all around. Everybody involved kinda sucks for it. The drama that ensued afterwards is 100% ridiculous too and everybody involved with it should be embarrassed.
You’d be right if this was an isolated incident. However. 11:34 *in another dungeon run Pirate runs too far up ramp and pulls an ogre from behind him, then he runs off and leaves his team to deal with it.* 18:48 *Pirate blames **_group_** for bad pull despite him being the one that pulled the ogre from the top of the ramp.* 14:43 *Pirate is already out the door in the process of abandoning his team despite no call to run being made by anybody at any point* There are clips of him in another game called Ashes of Creation where he was blaming and kicking people for a mistake that he made, and when someone linked him video footage of his mistake in slow motion - he banned them too and called his team idiots. The guy is a problem in any social setting he sets foot in. Textbook narcissistic personality disorder. That’s why he got gkicked.
I would like to see an apology video from all the members for gettin the healer killed. You got one guy who choked and pulled too many mobs. Another bozo who choked and pulled even more mobs while running out. Another clown whos only backpeddling the entire time and choking on his arm. Also the apprentice wizard who cannot perform in a stressful environment. The guy has the scriptures memorized on how to be the greatest wizard in all the lands..... but forgets everything when the pressure is on.
its a video game. why should anyone need to apologize, it be a matter of ego, blame and right and wrong. when i play a game, its to relax and enjoy myself and have a good time with friends. maybe its not like this for everyone. there are competitive games and it sucks to lose a lot of time, money, and progression into something but when it gets to this, its just toxic. i dont watch pirate but everyone name calling and badmouthing them is bad manners. its not like they were intending for this to happen.
How can you all miss the point here? It's not about WoW itself. That was just the context in which it unfolded. Merely a stage where it all played out. I only knew Pirate Software from clips or short videos. He seemed quite wise and his insider knowledge of the IT/gaming industry was interesting. He always took a strong ethical stance. Sometimes he told anecdotes from back then, such as how he got himself into a confrontation with a superior who wanted to use anti-consumer practices. How he stood up for a person against harassment or how he mentally outplayed the evil antagonist in this company he worked for.. I'm paraphrasing strongly, but the point is, he did seem like a decent person allaround.. but I was suspicious of him for some reason. It was just a feeling, intuition, without me being able to find a rational explanation. Until now.. he's obviously hiding a gigantic ego.. maybe even Musk or Trump sized. Like Pirate S. can't make mistakes, even though it's obvious and everyone can see it, he will not admit to it and die on that hill. He rather uses every rhetorical trick in the textbook, Deflection, Blame shifting, red herring, strawman, ad hominem. Nobody said the other group members didn't make any mistakes. It's not about making mistakes, it's not even about being a selfless self-sacrificing party member. Pirate could have said that he panicked or even that he didn't want to take any risk at all and let them die. It's egoistical and would still arouse some hatred, but at least he would be honest. He obviously has no inhibitions about changing the narrative in his favor in order to maintain his infallible, omniscient image. He's not just a passionate storyteller, who likes to dive into anecdotes.. now it seems rather calculated and manipulativ. Tales of heroism for self-aggrandizing storytelling, the veracity of which I now very much doubt.
if he had stayed then nobody would've died, running away "every man for himself" style was a mistake; and he refused to own up to that mistake every step of the way.
Yamato also used NONE of his CC. Called RUN then randomly second guessed himself which got people killed, then also took 0 accountability for any of that. But none of you care. Enjoy mediocrity
He did fuck up, mostly because he was too busy focusing on what other people were doing while doing nothing himself. But he did take accountability afterwards, everyone did part from Pirate. Don't know where you're getting that opinion from.
Wanna know the difference, ya ferret dckrider? The rogue actually TRIED to do something instead of beelining for the exit. People like others who actually TRY to help instead of doing nothing.
isnt Yamato a League player? Pirate supposed to be a WoW veteran mage. Did you know he worked at blizzard for 7 years? He knows EVERYTHING about game mechanics! Jokes aside, rogue stayed with the team. He didnt do anything, true. But he was ready to help. He was there to take the opportunity and turn the fight around. If Pirate didnt roached. If Pirate stayed to fight - Yamato wouldve instantly jumped in. Rogue didnt do anything, but he was in position to do something. Pirate didnt do anything and wasnt in position to do anything. How does it feel, knowing that LoL player did better, than WoW veteran ex-blizzard employee?
No. HC has a community at higher levels. You'd get kicked from your guild and no one in their right mind will play with you anymore if you're max level or close to max. Things going wrong isn't a question of if, it's a question of when statistically speaking. You gotta do something to help others when that happens like Pirate claimed he does (he literally said that he took improved blizzard for these exact situations). He could literally save people with zero risk to himself, but refused to do it for no good reason.
The second clip in DM where they ran and no one died, it was Pirate causing this aggro. He roached w/o doing anything while the rest of his group (not responsible for the aggro) worked as the team to make it out alive. Like bary said, you can play like that but not for long because NOT A SINGLE GUILD will want to play with you.
11:34 *pirate pulls mobs from top of ramp, runs off and leaves his team to deal with it.* 18:48 *Pirate blames **_group_** for bad pull despite him being the one that pulled the extra mobs.* 14:43 *Pirate is already out the door in the process of abandoning his team despite no call to run being made by anybody at any point* Textbook narcissistic personality disorder.
after saying that mages are meant to be utility bots that save bad situations and stay with the group, etc. Then going onto say how he couldnt watch bad mages that did what he did? YEAH NO LMAO.
1. Tank didn’t abandon healer 2. It’s literally a mages job to save the group when things go south. It’s been that way for 20 years, even Pirate knows this. 3. This specific pull is irrelevant. It’s not something he *did.* He *does* this. He has a personality disorder. 11:34 *pirate pulls mobs from top of ramp, runs off and leaves his team to deal with it.* 18:48 *Pirate blames **_group_** for bad pull despite him being the one that pulled the extra mobs.* 14:43 *Pirate is already out the door in the process of abandoning his team despite no call to run being made by anybody at any point* Textbook narcissistic personality disorder.
god complex blindness, can't cope with the fact he's not good at the game and getting any blame at all when his huge internet personality cannot take any criticism at all.
As a longtime Pirate fan, I gotta say running so early was dishonorable and selfish, but okay. Then he doubles down and tries to convince everyone he did the right thing. The 'as much as you're angry right now' is incredibly patronizing and belittling. Then the community backlash happens - he doesn't deserve deaththreats and harassments, but tripling down is just not the move here. Admit your mistake. Show humility.
I mean looking at how his first reaction was to try to gaslight an deny any mistake I would feel safe assuming the death threat thing is just him lying.
they called run and after 30m again run. so they´ve to run. when some dudes ran back, their problem. look at the druid pulling a third group. no blame for pirate, if u call run, then run. look at yamato: makes a call and does nothing. he is n middle range as a meelee but is having sprint and vanish, he could have done more. so when he fucks up he can´t blame other for fucking up
Dude yall are cringe about this. Whoever pulled the pack and the boss is to blame, period. Yall are mad he didn’t risk his char to save the people who actually put everyone in jeopardy. Whoever called the run shouldn’t have called it if they wanted to fight. The rogue 100% got the healer killed by telling him to come back. How many mobs the the rogue attempt to blind or CC? He was doing like 37 dps. Yall are mad that a guy didn’t apologize for something that clearly wasn’t his fault
you cant blame a man for following the run and blaming him for not being as good as your master mage bullshit if your calling shot your the shot caller
doing what you tell him makes him a roach so play wow with you makes him a roach got it you cant give a command and go back on it is was a simple misunderstanding that your blaming solely pirate but you failed to inform him of the social expectation or failed to explain what run means and the mobs were patrolling and walked into the patch they were fighting no one pulled it the group as a whole failed to move the mobs out of the path
pirate wouldn't have had to apologize if he didn't roach. he made every terrible decision he possibly could and then tried to make out like he alone did nothing wrong the second people asked wtf he was doing.
After seeing the threats made against him and how detailed and disturbing they are, I can certainly say I'm done with WoW specifically because the community is just atrociously narcissistic and cowardly. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
@@KrazyKruse-dw8qg thats the disconnect with streamers. The game is their life and losing a hard core character is months to years lost. But that's why I'd never play hardcore.
You are wrong. You failed to mention that the druid pulled a 3th pack. They stopped running to try and save it. If they didnt stop running the chances were high every body madr it out. Pirate stopped and looked back. Waiting for the party to come. But they didnt. Because they decided to attack again.
such a simple thing to do. "we fucked up, I heard the call to run, was low on mana, so I ran, maybe I could have done more, but I didn't and I apologise for my personal mistakes." but can't say you're the greatest mage, gamedev, councillor, life advisor of all time if you do accept your part of the blame.
Uncle Soda, would you read us a bed time story please? Hereeee we go, once upon a time not long ago when Mages wore robes and lived life slow, when laws were stern and justice stood, where Mages were behaving like they ought and should. there lived a little mage who was being misled, by his little ego this is what he said: "Me and my staff are gonna make them mad, roaching all out and making a dash." He did the job, death came with ease, but once he started running it's like he had a disease, he watched another, and another, a sister and a brotha, die because he was a roach undercova. @@FringeSpectre yes he's a autist who doesn't know how to say sorry and chokes and makes mistakes and blames others. doesn't justify a harassment campaign. I don't think he has the same type of content brain as these other guys do, he wasn't willing to drum up a plotline over this, which you NEED to do if you're gonna play the heel a*sshole on a reality show like this. so instead his defensive rhetoric turned off over half the guild, who were ready to move on to farming content over the NEXT death instead of getting lectured by Pirate. so he got voted off the island. Doesn't justify going out of your way to show what a tough guy you are writing this kinda garbage. have a good one.
HE didnt get anyone killed, there was so many misplays from the group,. Blaming it solely on Pirate is insane, the druid pulled too many mobs by not watching what he was doing, they tried ccing the wrong mobs. The shot caller said run but the other clowns were indecisive and kept stopping, once it was called they should of ran like pirate did. Sure there were things that could of been better, like staying on the og pull and fighting it out, but they should of all stayed as a group and ran. The major issue was the boss not the mobs.
Agreed, but the issue is that he won't take any responsibility and rejects all criticism. It's not that hard to just say "I probably could have done better, but I really didn't want to die. Sorry" That doesn't mean it's his fault and that doesn't change the fact that the others fucked up with the pull. Also, most people know run means run, but also try to help each other lol. It doesn't mean, hey fuck you guys every man for himself. While choosing to save yourself isn't inherently bad, it's not a good look when you refuse to take any blame after doing nothing at all to help anyone. Especially as a mage which pirate himself acknowledged plays a big role in saving teams with their crowd control etc. Why would anyone want to group with a player who openly says their own life is worth more than others because of their role in the guild? If you're not a team player then you don't get team benefits. G kicked.

I mean blaming the mage instead of the guy that over pulled. Or yh3 guy that pulled extra mobs while running. Or the fact they almost wiped right before that. Really makes me think people don't understand the situation. The rogue just runs his mouth while doing just as many bad things. The druid pulls an extra group. But everyone is like...why didn't you save the group? Why can't you take blame? Blame for what? He didn't mess up he just ran out. Don't fuck up, and you won't need to run.
Next time I play hardcore WoW, remind me to risk my life to save people who don't know what they're doing despite them calling to run like two minutes before, and they didn't run.
Collectively, the whole group was at fault. Too many egos colliding. Pirate was right it was a gross overpull in Dire Maul. It's wild saying Pirate is scared, and sucks, when Yamato did nothing to help the entire time they are backing out lol. Not only that, but Yamato panicking and saying "Run, run, run, run, run" implies shit is bad, we're getting out of here. Pirate did right, and nobody would have died if they pulled out and healed whoever was getting the beatdown on the way out, instead of stopping not once, but twice, while pulling 3 packs of mobs, AND a boss. Could easily have left, came back on a fresh attempt. Instead, Yamato kept calling people back up, and got the healer killed, which then resulted in snuppy dying on the way out due to no healer.
Healer got called back because the druid and warrior were going to die. If the mage used nova, blizzard or cone they live. For some reason he didn't want to, he choked or griefed.

It wasn't exclusively Pirate who made mistakes, but he got the full punishment. rogue was roaching too, people die at least twice a day at max level in their guild, there's no reason just pirate should have been kicked for this.
What matters is not the lack of proper play, what matters is the mindset of “I am super important;” “I am leaving you behind.”
It’s his reaction, because if he gets invited to another group, we cannot trust him to try and help when it’s his literal role to do exactly that.
It sucks, because all I am thinking is “you have NO right to even look at me right now, and whatever mistakes I made, I will analyse and correct at a later time, you have no business talking about it and I have no desire to talk with you about it.”
That is how I feel.

False. Rogue killed 2 dogs. Pirate did nothing.

Pirate: "I worked at Blizzard for 7 years"
If someone pulls multiple packs and a boss, you have every right to roach out. Period.
Like bary said, you can play like that but not for long because NOT A SINGLE GUILD will want to play with you.

god complex blindness, can't cope with the fact he's not good at the game and getting any blame at all when his huge internet personality cannot take any criticism at all.
A bad mage and an even worse person.
That's some crazy main character energy coming from Pirate
they called run and after 30m again run. so they´ve to run. when some dudes ran back, their problem. look at the druid pulling a third group. no blame for pirate, if u call run, then run.
look at yamato: makes a call and does nothing. he is n middle range as a meelee but is having sprint and vanish, he could have done more. so when he fucks up he can´t blame other for fucking up
Dude yall are cringe about this. Yall are mad that a guy didn’t apologize for something that clearly wasn’t his fault
you cant blame a man for following the run and blaming him for not being as good as your master mage bullshit if your calling shot your the shot caller
hes saying that you failed far before he did yet your blaming him before you looking at yourself
the team failed before the boss was even touched the mechanics and start should be sold from the start and using pirate as a scapegoat is sad
ROACHIE? you told him to run he ran what the problem
doing what you tell him makes him a roach so play wow with you makes him a roach got it you cant give a command and go back on it is was a simple misunderstanding that your blaming solely pirate but you failed to inform him of the social expectation or failed to explain what run means and the mobs were patrolling and walked into the patch they were fighting no one pulled it the group as a whole failed to move the mobs out of the path

None of them are entirely blaming one person
@@lookitsgordo They are trying to split the blame equally while most of the blame is on druid who stupidly jumped and then pulled even more mobs.
Sorry but the rogue made it personal. IMO he should be kicked and offer an apology directly to pirate for instigating and acting like a tool.

Pirate shouldn't need to apoligize until everyone does to him for making it out like he's the cause of all this bullshit.
pirate wouldn't have had to apologize if he didn't roach. he made every terrible decision he possibly could and then tried to make out like he alone did nothing wrong the second people asked wtf he was doing.
After seeing the threats made against him and how detailed and disturbing they are, I can certainly say I'm done with WoW specifically because the community is just atrociously narcissistic and cowardly. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Pirate has been voted off the island 😅
I'm a total outsider who's only interested because I see Pirate's shorts every now and then. My take is that Pirate is surprisingly pathetic in his inability to take any blame at all. It's just a game. The obstinate, smug defensiveness is cringe. You fanboys coming in to run defense for your internet daddy over video game guild drama reeks of parasocial brain rot, and you should really touch grass.
He f*cked around in an ecosystem where he was not the biggest fish, or the biggest ego, and he found out. Doesn't justify going out of your way to show what a tough guy you are writing this kinda garbage. have a good one.
he obviously feels more comfortable in situations where he is the only voice of authority, and he should probably work on that.
The major issue was the boss not the mobs.
its more about his actions outside of just this specific clip
