  • SELF-CONTROL: Fruits of the Holy Spirit | Two Hours of Instrumental Piano. Instrumental Worship Music for prayer, work, sleep, study, and relaxation. All music composed and recorded by Dan Musselman. www.danmusselman.com
Here are some thoughts I had while creating this music:
What comes to mind when I hear "self-control?"
Do I consider myself to be a person with self-control?
I sometimes think about self-control as the personal application of wisdom. It is one thing to know how to act, what to say, or what to think. It is another big step in the journey of a Christ-follower to consistently apply that knowledge into personal self-control.
If the Holy Spirit were to develop in me greater self-control today, what impact would that have on my life and especially on those around me? Would I be a better representation of Jesus?
This is something all Christ-followers wrestle with and can grow in. Consider what Paul wrote in Romans 7:15: "I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate."
I'm praying that God develops in me a humble spirit of self-discipline. Not for self-righteousness or to build up pride, but rather to be a more effective disciple of Jesus.
This is the ninth of nine videos in the series I've put together on the Fruits of the Spirit. As you draw closer to God, as you mature in your faith, and as you hear the call of Jesus, these nine attributes will grow in your life: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. Galatians 5:22. If you are growing in these areas, then you're drawing near to God, my friend!

📖 Galatians 5:22-23 - But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
    📖 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
    📖 2 Timothy 1:7
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
    📖 Proverbs 25:28
A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.
    📖 Proverbs 16:32
    Better to be patient than powerful;
better to have self-control than to conquer a city.
    📖 1 Timothy 3:2-3
That’s why officials must have a good reputation and be faithful in marriage. They must be self-controlled, sensible, well-behaved, friendly to strangers, and able to teach. They must not be heavy drinkers or troublemakers. Instead, they must be kind and gentle and not love money.
    📖 Titus 2:11-12
For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people. That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world,
    📖 2 Peter 1:5-7
So devote yourselves to lavishly supplementing your faith with goodness,
    and to goodness add understanding,
and to understanding add the strength of self-control,
and to self-control add patient endurance,
and to patient endurance add godliness,
and to godliness add mercy toward your brothers and sisters,
and to mercy toward others add unending love.
Thank you again for listening. I love making this music for you, and I sincerely hope that this makes your day better and brings you closer to God. Let's encourage one another and make the world a better place today. Much love. ✌️

Hello Dan. I don't know if you will read this, but I love your fruit of the Spirit series. When I started listening to them I had a Gouldian finch named Kiwi who used to sing along with me while I was praising the Lord with your music. He was my singing little buddy. One of my favorites was "Joy" and he sang with me. But two weeks ago, he passed and it hurt so much that listening to it again was hard and made me sad because it reminded me of him. Then, about three or four days ago I came across this precious melody, Self Control and God made me smile again while listening to it. I felt the power of His healing presence like rivers flowing inside me. Now this is one of my favorites too. I want to thank you for making beautiful music that praises the Lord. And I thank Him for filling my heart once again with the joy of singing for him. I know that one day "Joy" will make me smile again as I find peace at the thought that he gave me the gift of my little bird for five wonderful years. God bless you!

I just discovered your channel as I play instrumental worship music while working, secret place time and sleep. I absolutely love that you did piano music to each fruit of the spirit. I saved all of them in a playlist to have continuous music throughout the day or night. Anointed music shifts the atmosphere and your piano music is certainly anointed. I am going to check out the rest of your channel and I subscribed today. I also lead intercession Zoom calls and am part of a mentoring ministry and will share them in our Facebook group. Thank you and God bless you my brother in Christ.

My life is in such a mess, I cant even begin to understand or see how it can be fixed. But I'm learning to trust our Lord Jesus Christ, He will make a way when there seems to be NO way, and I will rely on Him alone to light my way. Thank you Lord, I love you.
Iv come back to update, that after fasting an prayer,my life is changing. I had to submit myself to the Lord, I can control nothing, the more I let control go ,the more I could see his grace. The Lord is faithful. Amen

    The Stones of Remembrance
BY ANNE GRAHAM LOTZ | JANUARY 29, 2009 | EDITORIAL

When God laid the foundations of the earth,
    hung the stars in place,
set the planets in their orbits,
halted the proud waves on the shore,
wrapped the sea in clouds of mist,
and taught the dawn to take the earth by its edges,
all of the angels shouted for joy at the magnificent display of God’s glory and power in Creation!
When have you, too, shouted for joy over the display of God’s glory wrapped up in His character in each day of every year for your entire life?
In Luke 19:40 Jesus said, “If we keep quiet (and don’t praise God), the stones will cry out.” Why would you and I remain silent, forfeiting to stones the joy of praising God for what He has done?
Samuel used stones as a memorial when God’s people wanted to remember His goodness and faithfulness. First Samuel 7:12 says that when God enabled the Israelites to defeat the Philistines, the Prophet Samuel “took a stone and … named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far has the Lord helped us.'”
Joshua also used stones to help God’s people remember His goodness. After wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, the Israelites experienced the power of God to roll back the waters of the Jordan River, enabling them to cross over and take possession of the Promised Land. Joshua then commanded them to build a memorial of stones as a public testimony of what God had done for them … stones that would remind them to keep on praising Him.
    Read Joshua 3 and 4.
    I. THE LITERAL STONES | Joshua 4:1-9
Read Joshua: 4:2-3, 5, 8. What were the stones of remembrance and where did they come from?
Read Joshua 4:6-7. Why did God say they were to be collected and carried to the riverbank?
What literal objects could you place in your home or office that would serve as reminders to you of your personal experiences of God’s power?
What are some other practical ways you can remember what God has done for you in order to cultivate and maintain an attitude of gratitude?
From the following passages, describe other visuals God gave His people and what each represented: Genesis 9:12-16; Exodus 12:1-13; Matthew 26:26-29; John 20:24-29.
II. THE LIVING STONES | Joshua 4:10-18
Read Joshua 4:10. What was necessary before the Israelites could experience God’s power?
Read Joshua 4:11. What was the living proof of God’s power?
What do you think the crossing of the Jordan symbolizes in the Christian life?
Did the Israelites believe their experience of God’s power meant their lives would be easy from then on? Give a verse to prove your point.
What is significant in Joshua 4:18? How would this affect the Israelites?
Who are the living stones today? See 1 Peter 2:4-5; Ephesians 2:19-22.
III. THE LASTING STONES | Joshua 4:19-24
Read Joshua 4:22-24. What did the stones mean?
Read Joshua 4:6-7, 22. What were the Israelites to do with the memories of their experiences of God’s power?
When others look at your life, do they demand an explanation for what they see? What explanation do you give them?
What testimony are you leaving behind for your children/grandchildren, and how will you be sure they get it?
What are at least two reasons for us to give verbal testimony to what God has done for us? See Joshua 4:24; Luke 1:1-4; John 4:28-42; John 20:30-31; 1 John 1:1-4.
How do nine of the 10 lepers in Luke 17:11-19 illustrate only living stones, but not lasting stones? How does the one leper illustrate both a living stone and a lasting stone?
Take a moment now to reflect on God’s blessings, grace, and power in your life. Write down what you remember and make two copies … one to keep, and one to give to someone else as a witness of what He has done for you. Then praise God for Jesus, His living, lasting Stone.

    ## Thought: Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the LORD on high is mighty! (Psalm 93:4)
I can’t help but think about the children of Israel when I read (Psalm 93:4), their deliverance from Egypt, and their life in the wilderness. There were possibly anywhere from two to three million Israelites at this time; that was a lot of people! The Bible says in (Exodus 14) they all crossed the Red Sea (on dry ground) in one night, consider that for just a second - to get that many people across in one night (march five thousand people side by side) would have required God to open a path in the Red Sea three miles wide. Once across the Red Sea, they would need a camp area 750 square miles, 1,500 tons of food per day to keep them from starving (750,000 quills, and two million gallons of manna), and 11 million gallons of water for their bare necessities every day. It all seems impossible to us. None of these challenges were too high for God!
Friends, aren’t you grateful we have a God Who is mightier than our problems? No matter what you may be facing today, God’s promises are sure. He is a God that is able!
God Bless have a Blessed Day Friends

Thank you for helping through Lockdown to be patient with my household and to carry on a lot of disinfecting tasks. And work on the computer.
Your music is a big Blessing. May the Lord be glorified through your hands.
