I live in Jacksonville FL and the Kings are my all time favorite team! I purchased the nba package just so I can keep watching the kings on the east coast even though it means staying up till 1am to do so. This game was worth the money, worth the lack of sleep, worth it all. Kings aren’t back… kings never left! They were just a waiting for the right moment and the warriors were there first meal to feast on!

No, it's not officially the playoffs. If the Kings lose to New Orleans (which they've had a habit of doing this year), they didn't actually make the playoffs. ...But still. The game doesn't count on the regular season standings or stats. The winner plays on, the loser goes home. That's "playoff" enough for me. I'm taking it.

It doesn’t matter because that officially ends the era. No longer a big 3 Klay is washed. Dray and Steph can still do it, but it’s more in spurts now only. We’ve seen it time and time again throughout basketball history; this is how it usually ends when a team’s era is over.

Man, that was an awesome show. What a game for Keegan and Keon, both of them are second-year players but have been showing out like crazy! Our youth has been showing their stripes, especially those two. I honestly think with how solid Keon has been, he's earned either a solid rotation spot, or even a starting spot at this point. Now, we just keep at it in New Orleans, and after we beat them, we'll give the OKC everything we've got!
Keon deserves to be considered a full time starter for the future. What he brings compliments the starting lineup perfectly!!!!

I listened to locked on warriors and the guy on that channel was very classy. He said the Kings fans are hungry, hungry Hippos, and I’m not offended by that at all. 😄 You were spot on during yesterday’s episode with him as you pointed out something to the effect that the warriors hadn’t played our team the way it is of late with Keon. I think they were in shock and didn’t know what hit them. Unlike what some dubs fans say or want to believe, the warriors didn’t lose to themselves, the Kings BEAT them.

Calling back to my comment a couple weeks ago, regardless of how this season ends. This team is trying and playing good ball when they’re at their best. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Believe in the boys, the doomers have made it hard to interact on social media but days like today are the ones we are quite literally shooting for
I think we need to remember that Rick Adelman's Kings didn't get out of the first round until Year 3. They surprised everybody in Year 1 by taking a Western Conference power to a deciding game - then had a lower seed the next year and lost in the first round again.
Sure, they might still miss the playoffs....But they also won 46 games. They've had two winning seasons in a row, and that defense is starting to be a thing. They are still on their way up, no matter what happens Friday (or hopefully in Rond 1 of the playoffs).

Watching the kings dominate in a one game elimination match was what I was waiting for all year. Yes, we know they can play, but can they make it count when it matters. Friday night will be another round. If we win away against a team that whooped us all season long. I’m satisfied.

Yesssss this feels so goooood!! Since the all star break, the kings have been swarming on defense and finally they shot well enough to hold the lead. Another game where the kings shot much more field goals than the opponent...and kept their turnovers down..these are very different from earlier this year. The kings are still limited in their offense and depend on their 3s wirhout monk but they are taking much more shots and need to really have a bad shooting night to lose. Kings are more playoff ready now but of course they still have to shoot well. Pels game going to be tough but its house money after the warriors win.

I got no problem with Warrior fans as a whole but you guys can come into our arena and dance and do night night celebrations on even a damn preseason win and we deal with it but when the Kings knock you guys out in dominating fashion it’s “Act like a champion” as if we can’t enjoy a victory. It was a great win.
This elimination game just solidified a couple of points.
First, that both are jump-shooting teams. When the shots are falling (Barnes 3/4, Ellis 3/4, Murray 8/13 3-PT shooting), it is beautiful to watch. When the shots are not falling (Thompson 0/10, 0/6 shooting), it is "absolutely dreadful" to watch. Both teams took the "let it fly" to heart.
Second, that the key to beating the Sacramento Kings is dominating the paint points, something the g(OLD)den State Warriors were unable to do. But, something the New Orleans Pelicans should be able to do. It would make an interesting game for the Sacramento Kings if Zion Williamson is unable to play.
Good luck Sacramento. As always, whatever happens it is a win-win situation. You win, you advance. You lose, you get to keep that 2024 protected pick.

First off: The Kings did not "end the Warriors dynasty". If it's over, it ended last year. But if the Warriors come back next year with a vengeance, is it really over? Point is, it's either not over yet, or the Lakers ended it last year.
Secondly, this iteration of Golden State is obviously far past it's prime. Time spares no one. This Kings team is supposed to be in their prime. They likely won't even make it into the playoffs. You all have a distorted view of where the Kings team is at because of how much you all hate the Warriors.
Let's put it this way: Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors achieved things every other team couldn't even dream of. Their extended run rivals any run by any team ever, in the entire history of the NBA. Nothing lasts forever, but you know as well as I do that when they were in their prime, the entire league folded. The entire league stood no chance. Pure and utter domination on a scale never seen before.
Meanwhile, the Kings, in their absolute prime, with a ton of advantages given to them by the refs, peaked at 48 wins a year ago, and that was literally their peak. They won't even make the playoffs this year. This was the worst Golden State team in nearly 15 years. Certainly the worst Golden State team with a healthy Steph, Klay, and Draymond.
The shining moment of the Kings entire franchise history is a single 48 win season and a 9 vs 10 playin victory. That's it. For the Sacramento Kings entire franchise history. That's pathetic.
Be humble. Appreciate greatness. You'll never see it again, not like it was between 2015 - 2022.
The real talking point is, how does a Kings team in their prime need all of the following to beat an old, washed, short, past their prime Golden State team:
- the refs to let them foul on every possession
- the refs to let them hold on all off ball action (they were literally holding Curry with 2 hands at all times)
- the refs to send the Kings to the free throw line for touch fouls
- career 20% shooters to shoot 90+% from 3
All that just to barely hang with an old, washed, short, past their prime Golden State team.
And the secret to the Kings rebounding success? They push GS players from behind when the rebound is coming down. For any other player not in a Kings jersey, that's a foul.
Your hatred blinds you to the fact that the refs are the reason you barely won a 9 vs 10 playin game. While you may be riding high now, relying on the refs is notoriously volatile. The second the refs stop handing you a MASSIVE advantage, you don't stand a chance.
The Warriors did the exact opposite. They were handicapped by the refs, rarely given free throws, fouled constantly, and they STILL DOMINATED. History will remember the Golden State Warriors for this historic dynasty. No one will remember crybaby Sabonis or flop artist/free throw merchant Fox.

Idk man... Huerter can't do what Ellis is doing on defense, BUT... Ellis IS doing what Huerter typically does on offense (seemingly with more consistency). I'm starting to feel like, if you don't outright move Huerter in the off-season, Ellis still seems to "fit" what the starters need more than Huerter does. Meanwhile, we don't have enough shooting off the bench, so MAYBE Huerter can fill that role, with less pressure on him.
I wish the kings play this kind of intensity all the time Ellis, Barnes, and Lyles played will and defense is relentless This Friday Zion is not 100% or might not even play Go kings.

Just asking a question I don’t know the answer to. If the Kings get no other win this season, I am happy. This win felt like a championship for me. So question: If the Kings lose to the Pelicans and don’t make the playoffs and retain their 1st round draft pick this year, is that better or worse for the Kings in the long run and why?
Not the end of the world, but either way the Kings would likely draft and trade that player. If they really scout and draft someone they like they’ll keep the player.
It's much worse because multiple draft picks will be tied up and Monte will have barely anything of value to trade with.
Great win against a declining warriors. Fun to watch. I just hate to see a team accomplish something only to see them not get far if they make the playoffs. They might be lucky and no Z when the kings play the Pelicans.

It may be the play-in tournament, but Mike Brown did something that no other Sacramento era head coach including the great Rick Adelman didn't do: win a winner-take-all game.
As for the Warriors, they had a pretty good run with four titles and nine playoff appearances in the last 12 years, but with all successful eras, all good things will eventually end.
