This is a Great song "You don't know what love is" for lovers who fall out of touch towards the need for each other. I love Sting's smooth singing voice with Chris Botti Trumpet playing as his accompliment.
This is an excellent pairing. Both men seem to be similar personality wise. And they blend well musically. The song itself speaks volumes. Many have no idea what it is to love well.

Not bad. For me the best version of this song is still Nina Simone's. I just feel her pain much much more than in any other singer's version. And ofc. she sings it beutifully like allways.
I personally do not understand why people feel the urge to criticize any cover they hear, especially when the singing artist is a great one such as Sting - but I appreciated that you almost mentioned Nina. I love Chet Baker, but those who are trying to prove their great culture mentioning him, just made fools of themselves. Standards are there for all artists to play them - my favorite is Billie but hell, I would NEVER choose a world where she's the only one allowed to sing a certain song.

I just don't believe Sting when he sings it.
Love his rendition of "I'll Follow My Secret Heart," but unfortunately I'm not fond of his rendition of this song. For me, all the jazz phrasing interferes with the meaningful message of the song's lyrics. Just my viewpoint. I prefer to hear this song sung in the traditional big band style.
