Can you make a video how to make space between your elbows and your body for the forehand swing. I tuck in my elbow once I swing for the ball. Thank you.
Consistency. Nerves. Eye tracking. Clean contact. Please help! P.S. I am a 60 y.o. wheelchair player, returning to the game after a very long hiatus (25-45 yrs!)
Dude! That little speech at the end was TOTALLY AWESOME. It's so true, nobody wants to - as our most intelligent and eloquent president once said - "eat their peas". Nobody wants to a. be honest with themselves in the first place, including facing the ugly fact that "the (video) camera doesn't lie" and b. nobody wants to put in the hard and _extremely_ unglamorous work to change their visual ability, movement patterns, or whatever it is that's holding them back. Myself included. I am Public Enemy Number One when it comes to what you just mentioned. I spend ALL DAY watching UA-cam videos on tennis technique, tennis equipment, tennis strategy, tennis mental toughness, tennis tantric sex, WHATEVER. And at the end of the day: 1. I can't follow the ball well enough and 2. I can't get myself into the proper position before/after/during hitting that little bugger to *save..my..life!* THANK YOU FOR THE WAKEUP CALL!!!
Haha you are welcome. Even within my coaching program i have to kick people off the calls to go do the work. Now close down the videos and get to work on your movement 😂
Helpful teaching. Thanks! The first time I saw myself playing on video was terrible. However it's not the end of the world. I have been working on my forehand and backhand consistently. They are getting better and better and more and more viewable.
Thanks, Richard. Very informative and helpful techniques for forehand. 8 Steps for forehand: 1. split legs ->2. unit turn -> 3. move to the ball -> 4. setup right position -> 5. swing -> 6. contact point->7. follow through -> 8. recovery.
My Problems (basically EVERYTHING haha) PS Subbed and Really enjoy your vids they are very helpful and easy to implement the instruction. Split step: Sometimes I do it Unit turn as I split step: NEVER ( i do it as i'm moving or not at all lol) Swing: Ass - I try to arm / muscle / control shots with my arm instead of letting my wrist relax ... and that makes me not able to use any power and slows the swing but still hit the ball out of bounds. Keeping Head Still: NOPE Recovering: Nah I stay where I hit it from and then run after the next ball Do you have any videos on how to return faster serves? i find it impossible when I don't have anyone to practice it with and I'm just getting like a few reps when i'm thrown into a match and getting wrecked. Then I feel shitty cuz the tennis club i play with does doubles and nothing is more frustrating than F'ing up when you have a teammate and not even getting a serve in play is not acceptable. I'm super hard on myself for being 3 weeks into tennis and everyone is saying I'm really good for being so new but "really good for being new" isn't "REALLY GOOD" it's a nice way of saying YOU SUCK but just not as bad as most new players lol. My Goal is to be at around a 4.0 withing 3 months of starting.
I don’t have any videos with me returning serve, because i don’t have anyone helping me. But my generally advice would be practice the foot patterns for the most common returns. And train my vision / vestibular (balance system). Because they are the things that tend to hold players back.
"Right position" - the space between the incoming ball and torso so that the hitting arm can accelerate freely. Overreach or too close to the body can't produce a balance, clean contact, no acceleration and poor follow through.
What's the biggest thing your struggling with on your forehand?
Extension, too big of a backswing and it preparing early enough.
I need to shorten my backswing and extend my forward swing.
My backhand

Way too much spin and little penetration
Your videos are excellent! 👍👍👍👏👏👏 Greetings from Turkey! 👋👋👋🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
You are really very very good trainer! You really teach in perfectly analysed ways! Thanks a lot for same!
This is a brilliant logical approach to improving one’s game. I play pickleball and your approach equally applies.

Thank you mate, that would probably be an expensive lesson at the club and you teaching it for free.
Thanks. Happy to help.
