Patreon provides a platform for fans to safely make donations to their favorite artist. Its different from other crowd source funding sites like kickstarter or gofundme because it is not about one big project that requires lots of funding. It is for artist like myself who create on a regular basis. Here is how it works: When you become a patreon, you are agreeing to support my work with a tip of as little as $1 or $2 or as much as you can afford every time I release a new music video. I will not release more than 2 videos per month but you can also set a monthly maximum to make sure you are always within your budget. As a way to say thank you to for the donation, I will give away free albums of original compositions, provide the option to suggests any instruments you would like to hear me do an arrangement with, google hangouts and many more rewards. Here is the best way to think of it; if you saw me playing in a street fair or restaurant and you liked what you heard, you would probably drop in a few dollars in the tip jar. Now Patreon allows you to do the same thing safely and easily online.
So what will I do with the money? In order to complete a music video, I have to write the parts for all the instruments and bring in my team of professional musicians who charge by the hour for filming and recording. In addition to addition to this, audio production, filming and editing could really add to the price tag. My hope is that would not only be able to raise enough money to sustain the quality level of my current videos but to take my videos to the next level by moving my piano to exotic locations and hiring top level professional video producers who can help me make videos that don’t just show me sitting and playing a piano but also visually tell the story that inspired the composition
