  • Elvis talks about karate, conspiracies about him, getting his black belt and even Fat Albert from 1974.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
all those who would want information on this appearance should google:
Las Vegas, Sept.2, 1974, Closing Night
    ELVIS LOSES CONTROL
    from KLAS TV Eyewitness News
I guess that KLAS in Las Vegas must have had some reason to cover it.
    ---from that story:
"as Chris Davidson told us, its a shame that a man who brought so much happiness to so many was so obviously
    unhappy himself. "

Elvis was so lonely he took to the stage in the last few years of his life to not only entertain them with music but to talk to them like people he knew his whole life. Artists don't do that today.

You want to know how I remember Elvis? A very, very musically talented man. A man who loved the world. A man who loved people. A man who came from small beginnings. A man who was commercially abused. A man who when he needed help, there was no one there to help him. His story is tragic, but his music will live forever. I celebrate that man, and the music he left behind for the rest of us to enjoy ❤

      @elvispresley9632 Рік тому

      TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!.
HE NEEDED TO VENT, AND HE WAS TRYING TO LET HIS AUDIENCE/ FANS KNOW " WHAT HIS TRUTH WAS ".
UNFORTUNATELY, ELVIS DIDN'T REALISE, OR MAYBE PRIVATELY HE DID REALISE " , HE WAS ABUSING " PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION ". EVEN TO THIS DAY, PEOPLE ON NARCOTICS ETC , DON'T REALISE THEY ARE ABUSING PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION " , BECAUSE THEY THINK, THE DR HAS PRESCRIBED IT , IT'S OK TO TAKE / USE ,AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, YOU ARE NEEDING MORE, AND MORE OF A PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION/ S ,SO IN FACT , HE ,AND ANYONE ELSE, ABUSING ( TAKING MORE THAN THE DR PRESCRIBED) ,ARE DRUG ADDICTS.
IT IS SO VERY SAD , TODAY WE HAVE DETOX CLINICS, AND THERE IS NO SHAME ,OR BLAME GOING INTO A DETOX CLINIC,AND PEOPLE ARE TAUGHT , ( ONCE THE PHYSICAL ADDICTION HAS PASSED), TO VENT, AND ARE GIVEN " TOOLS ," TO COPE WHEN LEAVING THE DETOX CLINIC, IF THEY ARE " FEELING THE NEED TO USE AGAIN ", BE IT STREET DRUGS, ALCOHOL, PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION, GAMBLING ETC, IT IS ALL PSYCHOLOGICAL, ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN " WEANED OF THE SUBSTANCE OF CHOICE ".
BACK WHEN " OUR ELVIS NEEDED HELP " WITH HIS ADDICTION TO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION , THERE WERE NO SUCH DETOX CLINICS AVAILABLE.
I'M A CLINICAL, FOENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST, AND NOW A TRAUMA SURGEON.
ONLY IF " THERE WERE DETOX CLINICS AVAILABLE, IN ELVIS'S ERA , THE DRUG ADDICTION, NEEDED TO BE " NIPPED IN THE BUD ," VERY EARLY ON IN THE PEACE !!!!.
ALSO, BACK IN ELVIS'S ERA , IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN " TAKEN VERY WELL, BY FANS ETC ,AND ALTHOUGH IM A DR, THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL , WOULD I KEEP PRESCRIBING NARCOTICS ETC,, EVEN IF IT WAS SOMEONE FAMOUS, BECAUSE I HAVE MORALS ,AND PRINCIPLES ,AND I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH MONEY, CELEBRITIES ARE WILLING TO PAY, FOR PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION, IM NOT ABOUT TO PRESCRIBE ,WHAT COULD END UP KILING A PERSON, NO MATTER WHOM THEY ARE!!.
LIKE ELVIS, WHEN HE COULDN'T GET HIS MEDICATION FROM ONE DR ,HE WOULD GET IT FROM A MULTITUDE OF DRS , AND UNDER OTHER PEOPLE'S NAMES ". SO NOBODY KNEW, EXACTLY WHAT HE HAD ,OR HADN'T TAKEN.
I REALLY FEEL ,SO SORRY FOR ELVIS, HE WAS TAKEN, WAY TO SOON !!!!!!!!!!.
HE HAD SO MUCH PRESSURE ON HIM ,THE FAMILY HAD/ HAS AN ADDICTION PROBLEM.
THERE WAS NO WHERE ELVIS COULD HAVE GONE TO GET HELP.
I LOVE ❤️ ELVIS, EARLY YRS ,AND TO THE END, AND I CONTINUE TO ❤️ LOVE ELVIS.
      WHAT A TALENTED, GIFTED MAN.
THE VOICE, THE GENEROSITY ( MAYBE TO A FAULT SOMETIMES) , HIS HUMOR ,HIS LAUGH , HE NEVER FORGOT HIS ROOTS, AND ,WHAT A GORGEOUS, SEXY, SCRUMPTIOUS LOOKING MAN HE WAS .
HIS SONGS ARE EXTREMELY RELATABLE TO SO ,SO MANY PEOPLE/ FANS.
AND WHAT A SHOW HE PUT ON ,,, FOR HIS FANS!!!!!!!!!!.
ELVIS, " OUR KING OF ROCK N ROLL,GOSPEL, WILL LIVE ON ♥️ FOREVER, AND WILL NEVER, EVER BE FORGOTTEN.
NOBODY WILL EVER COME CLOSE TO ELVIS!!!!!!!!.
HE HAD THE " WHOLE PACKAGE ".
GOD BLESS YOU ELVIS 🙌 🙏 ❤️, I HOPE YOU ARE LOOKING DOWN, AND CAN SEE " YOU ARE TRULY LOVED, AND ADORED TO THIS DAY ❤️ ".
TC ALWAYS PLEASE, AND GOD BLESS Y'ALL 🙌 🙏 ❤️.
THIS IS JUST MY OPINION ONLY.

@@TM-fu2we I don't find anything funny about this either my friend. Addiction is a silent killer, and I myself, was put on heavy Narcotics, due to a fractured vertebrae, and a collapsed vertebrae ( extremely painful), i couldn't walk. My Dr put me on 2 different heavy Narcotics, and a muscle relaxant.
I was studying medicine at that time, and i was on these damn pills , just to get to class, I was lucky enough, that I was a candidate to have the operation/ s , and then when healed, I booked myself into a detox clinic, and got off all the damn pills. And that IS NOT EASY!!!!.
YRS LATER, im now a Trauma Surgeon, and im very cautious ,as to whom i would, or wouldn't prescribe these Narcotics too. Obviously, the patient is in alot of pain, after major surgery, and of course I won't have them in hospital in pain, but as Time goes on, I reduce the dose of Narcotics, very slowly, and with the hope, the patient leaves hospital, not PHYSICALLY dependent on Narcotics. The problem is, it then becomes a Psychological addiction.
I feel very sorry for Elvis, and unfortunately with Narcotics, the longer you use them, the more you need , to stop the PHYSICAL PAIN, and if you have a history of Addiction in the family, well people will take them, if their sad , happy and so on.
Please 🙏 tc always, and God bless you, and all.

If the new Elvis movie doesn't show Elvis connection association with the black artist who he admired and was inspired and his friendships with Roy and Jackie. African American may think less of it but those like me who no the true Elvis will always regard him with respect, also I'm more than sure he would wanted some small point in the film. Elvis Presley greatly admired Jackie Wilson and first saw him perform in 1956 in Las Vegas while Jackie was lead singer with The Dominoes. Elvis really liked Jackie and thought he was a terrific showman. Likewise, Jackie greatly admired Elvis. Both Elvis and Jackie share a connection with Mississippi. Elvis offered to pay the hospital bill after Jackie's collapse from the disabling stroke in 1975. He sent Wilson's wife a check for $30,000. Wilson had been in a coma and was paralyzed since Sep 29, 1975. Born in 1934, he died Jan 21, 1984. Elvis, born Jan 8, 1935, died Aug 16, 1977. Jackie Wilson was one of Elvis' favorite artists. ua-cam.com/video/_s0mWDSGc9g/v-deo.html www.iheartelvis.net/elvis-pictures/elvis-his-generosity-was-amazing Mar 12, 2011 · In 1974, he contributed to a fund for singer-songwriter Ivory Joe Hunter, who was hospitalized with cancer, and he helped pay for Jackie Wilson’s hospital bills following Wilson’s stroke in 1975. Elvis was a blessing. They wouldn't let black music through. He opened the door for black music."[428] Al Green agreed: "He broke the ice for all of us. I love Elvis. But he was high as hell. People denying that he was high were not only enabling it at the time but they were being very unrealistic with the hardships that comes with fame. I know a lot of us don't want to think that Elvis Presley was on drugs but he was it's proven and it should have been a lesson learned that has never been learned for the famous. Ain't nothing wrong with getting high to tell you the truth as long as it doesn't get out of control but it did with him and he didn't necessarily understand the difference between illegal drugs and prescription drugs hence the illegal use of prescription drugs. There was a dumb side to Elvis yet very lovable he was very naive about the world around him and he built a fantasy up and made it come true. That's an American dream. But the underbelly of that is the drugs and excess that comes with it and human beings are not necessarily capable of having that capacity. He was very strung out during this performance unfortunately. What he was saying was not idiotic or what he was trying to say. In the end he would have probably spoke his mind with or without the drugs but being high he just could not articulate. He couldn't let anyone know that something was wrong.

When you get prescribed something do you go through a month's supply in 10 days and ask the doctor for more? Do you go take 3 or more times the amount that prescribed? The medicine was prescribed but the levels he took was not prescribed. The amounts of drugs and levels found in his system at the time of his death was enough to convince many it was intentional suicide. He wanted to maintain a high at all times. He was a drug addict, plain and simple and he knew it. He told Sonny West, I need them man, I need them.

He sounds completely lucid to me, he was basically venting. Someone ought to put your life under a spotlight moment by moment and let's see how you fair. Jealousy is ugly, don't go there. He was human yet a better person than many who have the cheek to criticize him.

I listen to this sometimes just because I love listening to Elvis standing up for himself and him getting angry. I love it. This isn’t a drug fuel rant. He talked to the audience like an old friend. He couldn’t trust much people. He was right here standing in his truth. And I do believe him. He was so honest but a gentleman. Love him.

EXACTLY! People can not knock him for his prescription drug use because it was all prescribed to him! He honestly in his mind he believed wholeheartedly that it was nothing wrong with it! Honestly Elvis was a little naive in certain situations he trusted doctors to see his welfare thru....

@@donnaking7439 Maybe it's like a "you had to be there" kinda thing with this guy cause most people who think he's great grew up with him on the radio and TV, while other people who saw all this after the fact don't see what the big deal was. Personally i have no clue why he was popular cause he comes across like a poor Vegas act. The Beatles are different, you didn't have to grow up with them, their talent comes through to each generation but this guy...not so much.

Elvis always talked about the man vs. the image, and its very interesting to hear how he felt about a story that was at least based in truth, but was damaging to his image although he was really damaging himself. He will always be my favorite and hearing this doesn't negatively change how I feel and actually makes me care even more about him!
