My mom never put me to bed, my sister was the one who did, she mostly raised me in my younger years.
She would play this song to me putting me to bed.
I know it doesn't sound like an emotional story but there is alot more to it that i rather not express to the internet.
The piont though, is that this song is something i cherish so much. For me, it holds emotions that i struggle to express through many other songs.

I have always heard these forms of music as a beautifully saddening and triumphant thing. Say the victorious soldier who has experienced the absolute dark depths of humanity but is alive to find sorrow over all that have lost everything but still will appreciate his life. Say the Mother who did her best and has let her child go to finally find their path but is proudly tearful. Say the person who has struggled and finally has found some solid ground and the veil has been lifted and looks to a new positive experience. Say the rescuer or attempted rescuer of a being in plight and sees his/her attempts were never in vain. Its beautiful. Its retrospective music that will touch everyone.

I believe the name of the piece "悲傷~星華的回憶與想念" roughly translates to “Sadness ~ Xing Hua's recollections and the memories she misses". Xing Hua (星華) appears to be a character from 愛情白皮書 (あすなろ白書): originally a Japanese manga that was adapted into several Taiwanese drama shows. A beautiful piece!

I think there is a lot of confusion copy/paste on the web and it absolutelly does match the Yuki song ion Tsubasa but every Cover just copy the wrong information @@elmore707

I play trombone, and while I would hold the normal “I have the best instrument” opinion that everyone else has-low brass instruments are absolutely gorgeous and my favorite wind instruments, but I must give credit where credit is due. Cello is without question the most beautiful instrument there is, and this piece proves it.

okay. since there appears to be a discussion about what solo means, here is what I learned from my time in an orchestra: a solo is a music piece or a part of a music piece where one single instrument (or maybe many instruments playing the same note, I am not sure about that part) is playing the melody alone and all others are not as important as this one. If only one instrument is playing alone, it is a cadenz

A lite tear begins to form, not of grief but glee as a new sight is seen, a shower of starlight pierces through the leaves in the distant pines, the smiling moon, thin as a nail, shines graciously allowing the needles of white in the black everscape of the now darkened sky.

Online since almost 9 years.... 1.1 million hits..... thinking about it and reading the comments, also assuming that the counter wont increase using the same computer, it could be said a million people heard this beautiful and emotional pure sound of the cello.... and on uncounted places all over the world they were unified for moments, listening to this sound, ready to embrace every other human in mind. This is what is music made for. The world should be fullfilled with music.... not with hassle, envyness and disappointments...

Cello is one of the most beautiful instruments out there. Piano is also a huge favorite of mine. Those two together can create the most beautiful piece of music. Piano is in this too so I would not call it a cello solo, piano had a solo in it also.
I don't think it matters whether it is a solo or not. It's a piece of music that should be listened to, not argued or debated over. Let's just listen to it.

purposefully searched "sad cello music", and quite frankly I'm just in a very sad mood...I was hanging out with this girl for the first time yesterday and I haven't heard back since. Didn't realize it was a date until after it the fact... in that case I wouldn't have been so raw and honest about myself and past. Maybe that turned her off. It's just that for the first time in a long time I met someone that I was genuinely intrigued by. Her mind and energetic personality is very attractive, but it seems that's the cost of being truthful and completely vulnerable. Radical candor may be great for some, but it can only hurt the radical one more so than the others on the receiving end of information..

Vittvind - It is a solo. As I said in my comment you replied to, the piano's just an accompaniment. its like a harmony and a melody. And if you aren't the musical person, which sorry if this sounds rude, but if you don't know this is a solo, you clearly aren't, than it's like subtitles to a video. They're add-ons that help/complement the main focus.

Sorry but in the net a lot of people give to music, covers and songs casually names (as all the "orchestral" covers which have a voice and a violin), excuse me for the prejudice, even if you had too

If I can do it you can too - because it´s mind over matter and nothing else and it takes practice.
