What a great job of showing how to do it. You are so neat and professional.. Thank you so much. as a senior I always have to see how things are done. thank you Troy. pat
I have been learning to make templates for rhinestones using MTC software and bought a brush at Walmart in the paint section that works great. It looks sort of like the one they use on videos. Rhinestones are fun! Thanks for sharing your info.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been searching for a helpful video to do rhinestones with the Cricut Explore. I finally found you, and you have made it EASY to do my rhinestone tshirt. Thanks a bunch.
Thank you very much. I have been looking once every couple of weeks specifically for this infromation for the Cricut Explore and finally found YOU! Thanks again.
Thank you so much for being so generous with your knowledge and experience!! Your videos are wonderful and full of great information. I am learning so much from you and am using my new knowledge every day. Thanks so much!!
Thank you for the explanation. Quick question, would sticky back foam sheets work? It would raise the design up enough off the surface to take the stones into and leave enough surface for the tape to catch...and it's extremely inexpensive (dollar tree available).
Great video! Learned a new technique and the Sure C000uts Alot info was great too. It was good to see the software I'd heard about but hadnt checked out yet!
Very Good video. I like how you go step by step. That explains a lot. I have a scanncut and I will have to learn to transfer my designs so I can use them as fcm file. I will look for more videos on that subject. I do like how you told what supplies you need and how to use each one. I really learned a lot.
I have the Cricut Maker. There are so many fabric settings I don't know which one to use to cut the sticky flock; also when I put it on fabric the Cricut is telling me to use the rotary blade. Could you please tell me what the pressure is for the fabric setting you are using? Thank you, your video is a great tutorial.
This is awesome. Thank you so much I was just thinking about this. I do not have SCAL4 but I do have SCAL3 and I was able to follow along. The brush can be picked up at your local dollar tree or Lowes Home Improvement stores. Thanks again Troy.
+Starr McCollum ok....thanks. I just noticed that etsy have sure cuts a lot but it's 2. But it says I can use my Cricut machine. I think I'm going to try it since it's only 9.00? Thanks again!
Wow! You are an awesome teacher. I noticed that this video was done in 2015. I want to try this with my Cricut Explore Air. Is there an updated version of SCAL 4, or do I still get the 4. You got me excited to try this. Please keep making videos.
hello. having trouble with uploading a rhinestone template in design space. I have done it 4 different times an even download sure cuts alot 3 pro. still having trouble. please help

Will the scal program work with the cricut maker? Everything that I've read so far doesn't have it listed. Would like to be able to do rhinestone designs as well. Is there another program like scal for the maker if it isn't comparable for rhinestone designs?
Great video. I see the Pazzle doesn't make that Rhinestone Kit anymore. Where can I buy just the rhinestone sheets and backboards? I have plenty of transfer tape. Is "Sticky Pink Flock" the same thing? What about the backboard? What is that?
I'm trying to create a rhinestone template with simple text - just a single line of rhinestones to spell out a word. Every font that I choose give me an "outline" of every letter. Am I missing a step? Or is there a specific font hat I need to use?
Hi Troy...i have purchased a pre- designed template from ebay and downloaded it. and then uploaded it into my design space. but im not sure at what size to cut it. it is for 10ss but if i enlarge the pic then that changes the sizes of the stones too right?
I'm a little reluctant at this point to purchase the SCAL version 4 I'm experiencing timing out in design space, I purchased and download 5000 fonts and now when I create a text and attempt to choice another font it's not responding and timing out!
I Purchased the Sure cuts a lot 4v and one problem I'm having is with the Fonts writing a word and change to Rhinestone 10ss it does not give me the size of the word so when I save it to a svg file therefore when I want to add it to DS I do not Know the exact size of the word , now it will show me when I add a shape like the heart in your video, PLEASE HELP ME I figured it out.
Greetings Troy, I bought Sure Cuts 5 yesterday. I tried to make a template for SS10/3mm Hotfix Rhinestones. The Cricut Maker cut the image. However the holes in the stencil were to small for the SS10 rhinestones. I heard you mention that you have to adjust the Cricut settings once you transfer the image from Sure Cuts to Design Space. I just bought the Cricut so I am not familiar yet, with how to do that. Also, do you know a least expensive way to make the stencil? The Rhinestone Template Material/Sticky Flock adds up quick! Thanks for any help you can suggest. 🌬💜🕉💜
First, if you have a Cricut Explore already, purchasing SCAL is way cheaper than purchasing a Cameo 3. Second, if you purchase a Cameo 3 you still have to purchase the upgraded software to Designer Edition in order to be able to do rhinestones, it doesn't do them out of the box.
I love that you go through each and every step. Nothing is a given when you have never done something. And thank you for staying on topic.
Thank You!!!! This is the first time I have seen someone make a video from beginning to end .So Essential for beginners. Can You Do A Few MORE???
What a great job of showing how to do it. You are so neat and professional.. Thank you so much. as a senior I always have to see how things are done. thank you Troy.

Thanks!
I absolutely think you have the most amazing tutorials. Your explanation of how to do everything is superb. Thank you.

I have had SCAL for a long time. I LOVE what can now be done and saved for use with the Explore. Thanks for your help.

You know what I love about your videos? You just get to the point. I get so tired of hearing all of the useless comments on UA-cam.
Thank you so much for being so generous with your knowledge and experience!! Your videos are wonderful and full of great information. I am learning so much from you and am using my new knowledge every day. Thanks so much!!
Thanks for teaching me how to make my own templates really enjoy listening to you .
Enjoy watching and learning from you. Please keep the videos coming.
Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial! I learned a great deal about creating rhinestone designs.
Thank you for the tutorial I was clueless as how to its done! You mentioned making some videos using SCAL 4 that would be GREAT! Thank you again!
The rhinestone brush he refers to is a Shur-line painting trim & touch up pad sold at Home Depot in many different sizes with the Handel and refills.

Troy, do you know if we can use the Sure Cuts A Lot 2/3 versions to cut the rhinestone templates?
Great video! Learned a new technique and the Sure C000uts Alot info was great too. It was good to see the software I'd heard about but hadnt checked out yet!

+Starr McCollum are you able to cut the rhinestone templates with 3?
Yes you are able to. It is SCAL3 Pro.
+Starr McCollum ok....thanks. I just noticed that etsy have sure cuts a lot but it's 2. But it says I can use my Cricut machine. I think I'm going to try it since it's only 9.00?
Thanks again!
+edwanda Cofer This will only work on older Expression machines with certain firmware version
+TroyTube, you are absolutely correct, I just found that out.
Troy where is your brush
how would we do this using words as far as the layouts and sizes to put it.

I have done it 4 different times an even download sure cuts alot 3 pro. still having trouble. please help
do you have to use a rhinestone program to do this
Hi Troy! Great video!! Do you know if scal4 can do a rhinestone scatter effect around words or an object? Thank you!
You can create a shadow around the words and do rhinestones in the shadow. Then you can also cut the word in vinyl and surround it with rhinestones

Very helpful and informative thanks for sharing
Great video. I see the Pazzle doesn't make that Rhinestone Kit anymore. Where can I buy just the rhinestone sheets and backboards? I have plenty of transfer tape. Is "Sticky Pink Flock" the same thing? What about the backboard? What is that?
The Rhinestone World has the sheets.
Sure Cuts a Lot works with DS now? I thought it didn't?
Hello, can this software be used on a Cricut Explore One Machine?
Are you able to type a font and change that to rhinestone template?
Yes
dos cricut support sure cuts a lot?
How can I get he rhinestone option by right clicking it, if I don't have the option.
Not sure what you are asking?
I'm trying to create a rhinestone template with simple text - just a single line of rhinestones to spell out a word. Every font that I choose give me an "outline" of every letter. Am I missing a step? Or is there a specific font hat I need to use?
If you want it solid you need to choose the "Fill shape with stones" when you convert it to a rhinestone pattern
can u still use rhinestones with cricut explore one that has only one blade/cutting tool vs the explore with 2 blades?
+dee rosser All Explore units can do the same cutting.
+TroyTube thank you! I appreciate this tutorial & will be buying my 1st cricut very soon! thank you!
Is there a free software that would do this?
Hi Troy...i have purchased a pre- designed template from ebay and downloaded it. and then uploaded it into my design space. but im not sure at what size to cut it. it is for 10ss but if i enlarge the pic then that changes the sizes of the stones too right?
+Emery Aguirre Correct, that will change the size of the holes needed to cut for the stones.
I know this video is old. Is scal4 still available? I cant seem to find it. Or would Scal5 do the same thing?
Scal5 will work fine
@@TroyTube thank you for the reply and the video!
I love this, thank you
can I make a template using cricut design space image
silhouette has a starter kit for rhinestones
+Brenda Jablonsky Thanks for the information.
Can it be used with the cricut
I only have experience with version 4
I'm a little reluctant at this point to purchase the SCAL version 4 I'm experiencing timing out in design space, I purchased and download 5000 fonts and now when I create a text and attempt to choice another font it's not responding and timing out!
+edwanda Cofer I hope you didn't install all those fonts...
+TroyTube OMG, I did and now trying to figure out how to get them off, so I can finish working on my family reunion tshirt, that I need tomorrow.
+edwanda Cofer I have uninstall but it's still not responding in design space.
You need to clear your cache and probably reboot if you removed them all
Hello, I heard that scale is no longer compatible with design space. I's this true?
In the video I explain that you use it to create SVG files that you then import into Design Space.
TroyTube thanks

I figured it out.
Thanks. Seem like more work than Cameo?
where is the link of the product you used? do an updated video...i can't watch the guy from rhinestone world
Thank you so much.
I can't find Vector Upload on my Explore Air 2. Can you help?
The video is old it's just one upload for images now.
I am watching this video for the first time. Is this still the only option for cricut explore currently? I like your video.
It's not the ONLY option, but it does require third-party software to create rhinestone templates for the Cricut Explore and Design Space.
Thank you, thank you!!!

Wouldn’t it be better to just get Cameo 3?

Troy.... Please start selling rhinestones too....Bulk...
the reason I asked is Sure cuts alot does not work with the cricut or design space
Yes it does, watch the whole video carefully.
