PSA: I just downloaded an apartment lot and it showed up in the regular Lot Bin (not specialty lots). So, look both places if you can't find a lot you downloaded! It may also be at the very end of the list if it's not showing up at the front!

Yeah, if you install more than one lot at once, the game will shuffle the earlier ones to the end of the list. I have a tendency to keep the lot bin empty or nearly so by placing lots I'm not going to use immediately in a storage neighbourhood.

i recently bought the sims 3 after getting so bored of the sims 4, and oh my goodness it’s so much better. i play on mac, so i think i might be able to get the sims 2 as well. i don’t think i will ever go back to the sims 4 😳
I just want sims 4 build mode/cas with the gameplay from 2 or 3
Even just the buy mode search bar made such a big difference

I wonder how EA would respond if everyone, including UA-camrs, went on strike and started playing the Sims 2 instead of the Sims 4. I wonder if they'll actually give us what we want or not.

This may be true, especially with bigger simming UA-camrs. But if Sims 2 was suddenly all the hype again and the audience suddenly starts watching more Sims 2 related things, big simming UA-camrs would have no choice but start uploading more things about Sims 2. I swear a lot of viewers on UA-cam underestimate themselves because we are more powerful than you think. Creators have to go with the flow of what people want to see to get paid and stay relevant.
I guess I've been on strike since TS4 launched 😆 I have never played more than 30 minutes of that game

Just as a caution when downloading custom lots, there is a chance you may encounter the super duper hug bug (SDHB) from other creators that have the bug while uploading lots for you to download and thus spreading it to your game. It is by no means malicious but it is VERY annoying (essentially the bug prompts the game to do an action that doesnt exist thus it defaults into forcing your sims to interact with each other via hug, this can result into a large amount of unhappy sims).
Luckily there is a mod out there that can catch these bugs and supress them, alerting you of potentially infected lots. I recently encountered this bug and was able to "clean" the lots that had the issues.
I use BO's no Sim loaded mod to prevent this! And you're right, it can be very annoying!
Reminds me of the corrupted ragdoll that infected TS3 CC
@@EnigmaticLucas it's not corruption, it's Maxis code from the install files that has become active. it's used by modders to make social mods and it should stay where it belongs-in the install files. Active in your game it is an annoyance is all it is and No Sim Loaded will easily hide it. Hide not remove it. best not to uplaod lots from a folder with it since it will travel with the lot.
@@joandsarah77 I know, but there was a corrupted CC ragdoll toy that got attached to lots on TS3 around 2010 or so. Just pointing out the similarities between the games.

I do recall that installing a lot via body shop duplicates all maxis lot from the bin... every single time for every new lot... well at least it used to do that for me and I still don't know why. Clean Installer is such a relief.

It’s good to know this so thank you! I’ve been using the installer that came with TS2 lately but I knew there was another way that I used to use back in the day. Is the ‘Teleport’ folder where the Lot Bin files are saved? I’ve always wanted to back the Lot Bin up but never knew where they were saved!
The files will only be in the teleport folder until you load the game. Then, the game moves the lot file from the Teleport folder into the Lot Catalog. You will find all your lots in the Lot Catalog. Hope that helps!
@@PleasantSims Thank you again! My laptop died recently and I had to go back to an old one and re-downloading all my favourite lots was a pain! I’ll keep that folder backed up in future!
Clean Installer is very important for lots not uploaded to MTS. MTS checks lots but away from there people may accidentally include global hacks, and a million trash bin,stair and mailbox recolours.
Clean Installer will show any hack in the lot package in red. If it's a modded item you may want it, but this is not the way to install global mods. It will also show if someone has packed sims in the lot -you DO NOT want those it will corrupt your hood.
Clean Installer will allow you to install CC free lots WHILE the game is loaded. All you have to do to get it to show up is load a sub hood or sometimes even another lot, go back to hood view and it should be in the lot bin.
Heh, I just relearned this a few days ago. I downloaded Clean Installer because I’m pretty sure I used that method back in the day!

I REGRET DELETING MY SIMS 2 HSHSHSHSH- 😔
I dont think the teleport is moving files to correct place. When I start game all the files are moved to the downloads folder. Non go to the lot catalog folder. And some files were not renamed properly to know which file it is for me to move to the correct place
I never knew how to install these type of content and now I'm installing my ass off because it's so easy hahah. Thank you very much!

Hey so, it won't let me install the clean installer because it's saying I have a old version and it asks if I want to uninstall the older version, I click yes, but then nothing happens after that. What do I do? I've downloaded the clean installer before so idk why this is happening.

I think you forgot to mention something very important for starters: lots infected with the Super Duper Hug Bug. If any of you didn't know about this yet, there's a page on it in the SimsWiki. Relatively "harmless", but annoying and contagious. All you need to protect your game is download Chris Hatch's SDH remover (modthesimsDOTinfoSLASHshowthreadDOTphp?p=5670978#post5670978), and BO's Sim Loaded.

Thank you for the video! Is there a way to delete lots from the bin that won’t affect bad on my game? Not only the downloaded lots but the ones I put there during my game.
I am having problems uninstalling Clean installer! When I go to my PC Settings and then on apps, Uninstall it says cannot find the .exe I removed it via recycle bin first.. OOps now I cant even use it I don't know what to do xD!!
I had downloaded a lot for The Sims 2 as I worked Sims Clean Pack installer to download it and the houses did not show up at Lots and Houses bin. Started reinstalling the game in late 2020.
It takes forever on my computer for the window to pop up.. sometimes it feels like ten minutes lol but worth the wait

What about if you're trying to restore lots from an old Sims 2 Backup? I have the UC version on my computer, but I had some lots made on my old laptop that I have on an external Hard Drive. I used to play with the actual disks back then. Does anyone know how I can import these lots into my current game?
