Learn more about Julie Moss' journey to her first IRONMAN finish, and a moment that helped define not only the sport, but the limits of what is humanly possible.
I was there, by the stop sign…. About 14 years old and your strength and tenacity in the midst of you body’s weakness has encouraged me ever since! (I found this after telling my husband your Ironman story)
Such an amazing woman. I would never attempt such a grueling task for my body at my age, and I live here! It’s 2022, and the women’s race. I can hear the “You Are an Iron Man!!” for every athlete who crosses that line, regardless of when, or what age they are. My favorite part is at the very end towards midnight, when the last finishers hear that music that comes to their ears. That’s definitely the best.

Watching this still gives me goose-bumps. What an incredible example of womanhood.
Man! This video has me in tears.
The reason I do triathlon is this lady!!

The final moment of crossing the finish line is hidden behind the ironman logo... editing genius.

I hate to be that guy, but shouldn't she have been disqualified the moment someone helped her to her feet the first time?
