Truly, to build a proper team you have to sure up the back first. If the goal is to be high up the pitch then we have to have 8 defenders that can play high. For me that must be the priority this summer. We have to start working on playing the same way regardless of who is injured

Actually, I think it's the opposite (= he doesn't know). To me it looks more and more like he's De Gea and has to start playing out from the back under the new regime. What I want to say by this: The 'public relations'/ media part of football management isn't really his forte (to say the least). But people will have pointed out to him that fan support is deteriorating. He himself will - on a more abstract level- perfectly understand the limitations of his team right now and the (game theory) chances regarding the outcome of this season (or someone has told him). So, he understands that he needs to win back fan opinion to keep his job.
But like in so many things regarding general management skills he fails to implement them professionally. And IMHO it's clearly NOT a language thing; it's more a thing of personality trait. To me it seems, whenever he gets cornered, he tries to mimic Pep Guardiola. And don't get me wrong: He has a different style of football and a different (but equally good as Peps' or Klopps') understanding about the intricacies of a modern football game. But in other fields which are required in modern marketing he's just terrible as a manager.

They said Arteta was given time and it paid off and that what will matter isn't getting Europe, those are silly, short-term goals that can and will be sacrificed to move the team on.
