And thank you for showing the drawing of damage that occurs at the end of the ramp when people power load which lots of dummies just can't seem to comprehend.... And is exactly why some ramps post signs that forbid it.. Great job CCC
The 1st Capt. is the same guy who never pulls his tow vehicle forward far enough ahead, to straighten out the trailer before backing up. So it takes 10 minutes to get the trailer in the water to unload and load the boat.
Non-boater here with a question about the diagrams at 4:10. Do the better boat ramps pave down into the wash-out area to prevent this from happening? Thanks
Yes. Longer ramps reduce the problem. Its not always practical to make ramps super long though so its not strictly a better ramp thing just some can be longer and support it some can not and get damaged if people powerload. This dock in the video where they have issues however looks like a pretty crappy dock if it has that much of a square edge that close to shore. I would not return to this ramp if I where those in the video as they where not that far in to the water when if fell off.

It seems to me that most of your boat ramps are a bit short on the concrete. Here at our lakes in Missouri our ramps are very long do to lake level extremes. Most of our ramps are also very steep, so at times four wheel drive is needed. We dont have tides to deal with but sometimes the wakes can be a major problem. Some people should just be passengers on boats⚓️
Everyone telling him what to do! Block out the noise and concentrate on the wind and the current. New boaters stfu and listen to the captain geez!
I just can't believe how horrible people are at driving, docking, and placing a boat on a trailer. I mean, we never take our boats out of the water on the Lake of the Ozarks, but you learn how to dock a boat in a slip with 40MPH winds. I guess it boils down to experience. I was a newbie once.
Are they tracking water moccasins down the ramp? You can tell some of these folks don’t back a trailer, much less a boat, very often.
Why do you blur out the pontoon boats?
