- Dumaguete is a city on Negros Island, in the southern Philippines. The lush, waterfront Rizal Boulevard is backed by bars and restaurants. The Silliman University Anthropology Museum displays prehistoric artifacts from local indigenous groups. Nearby is the 1900s wooden Silliman Hall. Opposite the leafy Quezon Park is the 19th-century St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral and its belfry, the Campanario de Dumaguete.

One of the best cities in Visayas and the 5th biggest commercial center in Negros island after Bacolod, Kabankalan, and Bago Cadiz Cities and followed by San Carlos City.
Bacolod,Dumaguete,San Carlos,Kabankalan,Cadiz,although Bago City well surely boom soon after the construction of SPRING VALLEY IT PARK..

Dgte is the second biggest commercial center in Negros. Don’t base a city’s economic size by the IRA coz ang share ng bawat LGU is based solely on population and land area. Clearly there’s more economic activity in Dgte than any other LGU in Negros except Bacolod of course.

ang negros occidental (bacolod), progressive na kaayo. tag as na kaayo ilang mga buildings. grabe ang improvement. sus ang DUMAGUETE kulelat sa development. grabe gyod tingali ang corapcion diha. dili visionary ilang leader.
Dgte has far fewer people than Bacolod. Check the latest census figures. You seriously don’t expect Dgte to have as many bldgs as Bacolod when it’s so much smaller.
