I beg to differ the vocals are amazing and the sound is trippy and spiritual, there's no percussion but drop this at peak time in a big room it sounds fucking awesome, mixed out into a heavy beat bass tune...
Although I still dislike this track despite giving it a few subsequent listens through gritted teeth or should that be 'gritted ears', it is definitely not a 'grower' and just doesn't do it for me, I still bought the album on C.D. as I thought I would do after hearing it the first time! As the rest of the album is pretty much fantastic and an 'Electronic-Symphony' of sorts, but this last track did put a slight doubt in my mind as for me it just does not sit right'!! I just don't get it that this track would be included in such a piece of work, as in my opinion it jars not only musically but with what is the otherwise wonderful flow of the album, even Head and Shoulders works, and that video is a piece of genius!! Although I don't follow these things that closely the Album should win, should have won best Electronic Music Album at least, and likewise the video for you guessed Best Video, or certainly an animated one!! compared to the many brilliant tracks on their album leftism this is utterly dreadful. leftism is still one of the most brilliant edm albums ever made. The same kind of thing happened with zero 7, their first 2 albums were brilliant. Anything produced after these albums was dreadful. The moral here is that if you have lost your ability to create excellent music, then don't bother trying by putting out this kind of garbage.
this track is kind of poor but in their defence it is not easy to come back from a band split and 6/7 years in the wilderness. A lot had changed since they were last on the scene (Gaga and Coldplay) but progressive house had not progressed that much. Cue 'universal everything' - for me this track is as strong as anyting they have ever done. Alternative Light Source and Shaker Obsession are astonishing live (saw the 2015 shows at the Forum & Roundhouse London. As was Little Fish and Storms End which was used to segue Phat Planet. It was telling that at those 2 London live shows they did not play Levitate, or head and shoulders, or Bilocation - I think Neil knows these tracks are weak and will not form part of the live repertoire going forwards

Their "new" album is really good, way better than this one
