My dream school. Coming from a Brazilian native who has been living in Florida for a decade, what are my chances of admission as a transfer student? Currently in FSU - 3.8 GPA, 45 creds. Any insights or opinions are much appreciated, Thank you and GOD BLESS UC BERKELEY.
Tbh, chances are slim, but it's definitely worth a shot. Berkeley, or all UCs, tend to admit transfer students from other California universities. And those students usually have really high GPA, and a lot depends on your personal statement and ECs.
3.8 GPA is solid, think like this: What about yourself is awesome? What makes you special? Why would Cal want you? Everyone applying has a high GPA, Most have impressive lists of EC's(Extra Curriculars). There is a story though that is only yours. Tell that story, and best of luck to you! and make sure you have your Core Requirements, and breadth stuff done!!
Too many Asians at UC Berkeley. Berkeley and LA don't have TAG. Berkeley increasingly admits out-of-state students for extra cash. Fees have doubled. Courses reduced. Graduates take longer to find jobs, if they can find it at all. SF Bay Area rent is a surprising sticker shock. East Bay has higher unemployment rate than the state. You're going to learn just as much going to state college with less debt. Employers: name brand isn't worth it. These truths are never mentioned by Berkeley. No on 30.

Hm, interesting how you'd call a school famous for being inclusive of every minority race, LBGTQAI+ folk, and all abilities and religions and social classes "racist" and "narrow minded" just because SOME of its students wouldn't let an anti-gay anti-POC comedian speak?
Yes, it's pretty ironic something like this would happen at the very birthplace of the free speech movement. But, the school is taking responsibility for finding and punishing any students (they just sent out an email this past week) who were involved. It is one of the most tolerant, open-minded, and diverse schools on the West Coast. And I'd like to put it out there that a lot of the violent liberals aren't from the school but rather the city of Berkeley, which IS a very liberal city, as with most cities in the area of California. Lots of today's angry liberals DO defy logic, but not all of them. Students at Berkeley are not protesting anymore, there are still tons of tour groups and grade-school children coming to tour the campus every day. Society is moving in a liberal direction I guess, which is why you could've been a democrat back in the 70s. And if you're talking about the killing of JFK, weren't you once on the liberals' side in the 70s? He got assassinated before the 70s. I'm pretty sure the liberals just support social justice, as in no Muslims experience racism for no good reason. Plus, doesn't Trump himself treat women badly (even though he says he doesn't, come on, he can't straight up say that)? The USA has yet to have a first female president, while some Islamic nations already have had one.
