- In this video I head out with my Nikon Z 180-600mm F5.6-6.3 VR lens and Nikon Z7 to photograph Australian Water Dragons. The Nikon Z 180-600mm was perfect for this! I was able to keep my distance so I didn't startle the Water Dragons by using the powerful zoom.

FUN FACT! Water Dragons have inhabited Australia for 20 million years and similar to skinks and geckos, they can drop or lose their tail if threatened or attacked and can regrow it 🦎📸
Love the blue tongues! So great to simply be out and enjoying the creatures we share this beautiful world with. May we look after them well. Thanks for sharing Adrian.
Thank you for watching Denise cheers 🍻 🙏
Awesome work Adrian! Water dragons are such a beautiful species & you got some really cool portraits & footage too! Also how cute was that possum😴🥱 haha. Thanks for sharing mate, have a great weekend!
Cheers Peter. That Possum was just drifting off to sleep, pretty funny how it didn't care about the camera. Have a great weekend 🙏
Always fantastic to see the varied wildlife you have over there Adrian. very few reptiles over here although Common lizards tend to have favourite basking sites in the sun. Cheers mate👍👍
Cheers Scott. Yeah these water dragons do have their fav hangouts for sure. Have a great week mate 🙏
Thank you Adrian for sharing, nice vid and pictures, Greetings from Germany Michael
Many thanks for watching Michael 🙏
Great capture Adrian of the Water Dragons, well done for braving the snakes! We have a few here on the campo and I hate snakes! Many thanks for sharing your work and have a great week.
Thanks for watching Shaun. Snakes and I have a deal, they go one way, I go the other. Enjoy the rest of your week mate 📸🙏
I just received my new Nikon Z 180mm to 600mm lens. So far I am very impressed. I have coupled it with my Z9. Great combination. I always enjoy your videos.
Adrian, nice shots and Cool video, always appreciate your content.
Thanks for watching my friend, always appreciate your kind support. Enjoy your week 🙏
Hi Adrian, snakes? Oh, I'm in "love" with them 😆To be honest, I think I would engage more with what is around my feet than with my photography when I know there are snakes around 😬
You got such fantastic shots of water dragons, so awesome! But I also like that one at ~2:37. So cute 😊
Thank you for the video, buddy!
Have a great week ahead,
Christian
Thank you for watching Christian. Yes here in Australia we have to be extra careful where we walk. Have a wonderful week buddy cheers 📸🙏
Nice photos! Very interesting creatures.
Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it 🙏📸
How cute was the possum! Awww. And man that blue tongue looked like a snake for sure, the head is the same, the scales - would have freaked me out. Fabulous water dragon shots - I had no idea about holding their breath - how cool.
Thanks for watching, really appreciate it. Cheers 📸🙏
Great stuff Adrian! Love these water dragons! We had big iguanas and monitors in Florida. People hated them but I loved to photograph them. Definitely wanted to keep your distance though - those rails are deadly! I don't envy you having to keep an eye out for Browns and Death Adders though 😳 Great footage of these guys and some great tips here! Have a fantastic rest of the week!
Thank you Paul for watching. I enjoyed Florida when I was there, the climate reminded me a lot of our Gold Coast here. Yeah I think we both agree on snakes 😂 Glad you liked the vid mate. Enjoy the rest of your week 🙏
I'm from Europe, and when i was in Brisbane, went to the park, sat down, and in a radius of a few meters,i was surrounded by curious wildlife: ducks, swamphens, ibises( bin chickens),aaand these guys, that came right next to me,less than 60 cm. Probably the animals are used to people throwing food,so they check them out.
Awesome animals,great country,fantastic continent!
Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
another great video! i appreciate the 180-600 content, especially your tips on keeping photos sharp. my early efforts with that lens on my z6 have felt soft. can't believe you stumbled on that possum, what incredible footage.
Great shots man. Bet you were thankful that was a Blue Tongued Lizard instead of a Death Adder!
I've stepped on a black snake once before - people with me said I cleared six feet straight up when I jumped! 😂 Snake took off into the bush, while I changed my underpants. Thanks for watching, cheers 🙏
Great video, Adrian!
Cheers Phil thank you 🙏
Lovely ❤
By the way which shoulder strap are you wearing to hang the long lens? It seems it's very comfortable with the shoulder padded.
Thanks for watching. That's my new shoulder strap, it's only a cheap one off eBay nothing special. Cheers 🙏
