  • Typically we showcase attachments for smaller tractors on this channel, because that's what most of our viewer have. But we do have some bigger machines and we thought it's about time we try out some bigger attachments. So we set up a 96" HLA 2500 Series Snow Pusher and put it on our Kubota M4D-071. We only have a few inches of snow, so this should be an easy job, right?!

Rim Guard goes right inside your tires, so it's out of the way, it doesn't freeze, and doesn't corrode. It's made from natural materials, so it's safe around livestock and pets if it spills out. We got a foot of wet heavy snow this weekend and it finished off my worn out 35+ year old garden tractor mounted snow blower. I'm now trying to convince my wife that a compact tractor and snow pusher is an appropriate replacement. Wish me luck! 😃

      snowblower is still probably going to be your best bet depending on how much snow you get in your area. If you are wanting to upgrade, take a look at a compact cab tractor with a front mount snowblower and a rear mounted blade, best of both worlds. Snow pushers make sense for parking lots, I wouldn't want to deal with the piles of snow and running out of room to push it after each storm in our climate with significant snowfall. You would need a huge, heavy tractor with chains to push a foot of heavy wet snow with one of these pushers. Compact tractors just don't have the weight behind them for anything more than a few inches at a time.

    "That tractor has too much power."...said no one ever. Great video Courtney! Love that snow pusher! Spray some soap bubbles around the bead on both sides of that troublesome tire. I had leaks on both my fronts at the bead because the rubber tits left from the molding process were pinched between the bead and rim causing a leak path. The dealer tubed the fronts n/c and took care of the problem.

      Using a PTO broadcast spreader would work but the only down fall would be the are designed to throw material out far for maximum coverage but with a driveway you only need like 10ft of coverage so you would need to idle along to slow down the rpm on the spreader so your not salting the grass. May even need to install some deflectors to aim the material down tword the ground. Now personally I would never spread salt with my tractor as it rusts everything it touches, now you could spread sand or if you have a gravel drive you could use the smallest stone chips you can get that way you can have traction with the rust factor

    We just got about 7-8" of snow. Have a walk behind snow blower for now, took 2 of us about 4 hrs to clear the driveway and parking area's and pathways to the animals. Using my 1025R with bucket, slow going, and the walk behind blower. This item is defiantly on the list for next winter, we have a wide area we have to clear so our hay guy can back down the driveway and get his skid steer off the trailer to unload the large bales. I think the snow pusher would work very well for this large area, where as a plough I would have to keep pushing it over. Driveway is a rock/ findings mix that is solid very few loose stones, then turns to grass. Would the UHMW edge work on that as a metal edge might rip it up?

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  Рік тому +1

      I don't think UHMW will work as well as steel, but it is a pretty durable material. If just stone/gravel, then stick with steel edges and runners to be safe.

Same can be said for rain, but I find that happens more with snow than rain. Then it's just a matter of wind, and that can come at any time, and that makes it difficult to get steady shots. Cortney, was wondering how effective is the float function on this tractor? I have a couple of Deeres. A 3 and 75hp 5. I bought a 6 or 7’ pusher from you last year. Because it is a 1500, you said don’t use it on the 5. Got that. So I was wondering what hp your Kubota has a reference point. FYI, we have had a max snow fall of 4” so far this year. So my joke remains, “I buy it won’t snow insurance in the form of snow removal equipment.”

      Hey James, 71HP on the M4. I pop it in float on the smooth straight pushes, but take it back out when turning or transitioning to gravel/dirt. I just raise the pusher slightly above the plowing surface. The snow still stays collected, but don't scrape the ground.

    My place has 6 inches right now, of wet, heavy MUD! It's a mess!

      I have no plans to put any money into my fence. I may take it down in time. We don't have animals.
