I've got a plastic door stop. Seems like it would be similar and a more handy size to keep in the bag. Ill try it out Thurs before league, see how it goes! Thank you for the video, Coach!
Great drill, thanks. It compliments a tip I got years ago. "If you've ever played tennis, racket ball or ping pong, how do you put topspin on the ball?" "Now think of that as you try to put topspin on the golf ball" "You never will, but you will always be in the right place for good compression" Cheers
@@oceanyt8 your probably not staying down in posture through impact. Try getting the handle of the club to win the race to Impact. This usually helps staying down. So you want the feeling of your hands and grip to be past where they were at set up, before the club head impacts the ball. It’s my “go to” swing thought if I’m not striking it well. Always seems to work for me to get that compression back.
Cool and easy to Set up Swing help! Only think i dont like is when i get close to the Ball the wedge interferes with my backswing. Not sure if thats a swingfault of me aswell.
“Hitting down” can be confusing because the hands and the handle actually are moving up through impact. Club moves down as hands move butt end of the handle up
3:41 is great - how about that ball rolling back up the ramp again to prove Coach hits 'em straight! I've used a wedge under the lead foot for trying to improve forward rotation (Giles G tip) but it's not ideal to carry around. I use a long piece of string - the type one uses to tie together an oven roast which I position quite close to the ball (half a ball to almost a ball away). if it's long enough it prevents it from flying down the range if I hit a fat one. First aid I used was a pivot board, a pretty cheap Amazon one which I don't recommend: if you use that on a mat it flies down the range, if you peg it down on the grass you tear off the edges if you hit it really bad.
Good video. I’ve seen something similar with a folded up towel behind the ball. My daughter tends to hit down on the ball with the driver. Got anything for that?
Matt , i get it , but , picker and digger different way of playing golf !! Im a once a week 61 year old picker !! 1.3 handicapp !! Sooooo great vid but a massive but , what is the way you swing the club ! As harvey penick said , beware of the man with a strange swing !!❤❤❤❤
If you don’t want to change from a picker to a “digger”. You can use this to help you on the course in different situations. Thick rough, down slopes, you need to move low point more forward 👍👍
I've been doing something similar with a towel but I like the wedge to add a bit more challenge. For a driver, would I put the wedge on the other side? And if so how far away would you say for an average high handicap? Thank you for all of your videos they are amazing.
Using a block of high density foam, like a yoga blovk. For an orange/grey tee cut a wedge from one end measuring 20mm high going down to 0mm over 75mm. Put the wedge against the tee and practice hitting the ball without hitting the wedge. I cut the yoga block in half lengthways and made dozens of wedges. Some of you will think I am nuts, but sitting around recovering from a chest infection, but Coach's idea is brilliant but not really suitable for the driver. Use less/more than 20mm depending on your preferred tee height.
I’m definitely a ‘picker’ of the golf ball. I find it hard to feel what I’m doing. If I’m more committed and confident and focus on the target ahead of me I hit a better shot (generally) when I get stuck over the ball obsessing about my swing that’s when it goes tits up.
I just focus on the turf a couple inches in front of my ball and let the golf ball get in the way. It works to get you back on track if you start hitting it fat and thinning shots. Im sure this is a better fix here in this video but focusing in front of my ball worked like a dream for me. I still do it to this day. Staring at the golf ball doesnt help, lol.
It works wonderfully I tried it and I love it.

Love the feedback tool! Great stuff Coach! Visuals and feedback are so helpful.
Great idea love you videos

Never worked. It topped the ball. Just don't know what went wrong

@@richardwhite9028 thanks I will try your method and see if it works.
The izzo flatball disks also work, place one about three balls distance behind the range ball. Stores in your pocket.

Tight Yorkshireman here Coach: 14 quid for the wedge thing! I'll carry in with my towel.

Correct 👍 very good. I have plenty of videos on this 👌

Great drill for sweepers who don’t get compression
50% of Tour pros are sweepers, I think they can survive..
LMAO at this comment.

Can you put it on the other side of the ball to help hit up on the driver?
Yep 👍

100% do it with driver too. Will help hit up on it 👍
I would start with two foot steps in front of the golf ball
@@CoachLockey excellent. Thank you so much

Do all the foam wedges come with autoreturn? 😄
😂😂

Do what works 👍👍
I know some people who use the foot wedge technique…
I just use a towel for this drill 💪🏼
Works just as well 👍👍
Good stuff.....thanks for posting
I shifted but club face open or tweak resulted horrible strike. Impact is totally out..
Any chance of a link on where to buy the foot wedge? Ive looked on amazon but cant find the one in the video.

Nice!!!!I think i'm trying this soon!
Go for it! Great drill to work on low point control 🔥
@@CoachLockey that's the área I need to improve more. Thanks for the advice
Dang early extension.
If you start at fifty fifty why not swing to the top and keep it there with no weight transfer at all
I use a towel
Nice 👌 works just as well.
Looks good for overly shallow swings and straighten up that bloody picture in the background 🙄
I’ve found that the mat gives you a false sense of success
Not just you bruh
The shoe rubs both ways= one way is not better than the other
