- I show how to pour the liquid silicon into a lego box holding the lure your are duplicating! This is a 2 piece mold so a aluminum plate is cut, drilled and made ready for the hot plastic injector! It's easy, tons of fun and we will learn together and make just about anything!
Forgot to add Mr. Roland, you can get a good quality finish as well with a hand pour.. injection is amazing but not always necessary in my applications...Thanks for years of memories with dad watching Ole Roland Martin....
This man most likely makes more in sponsorships than a base ball player, yet he's making his own lure molds. I love this man, he's an every man who happens to be a top notch fisherman
Because he so genuine and loves to pass on that knowledge as I'm sure you know. I'm pretty most of us who follow him all grew up watching him!
Just wanted to say you started my love for fishing as a little kid and 43 years later I still think you’re the best ! Tight lines , sir ! 😀👌🏼
Fellow bait maker here, nothing like the joy of creating something by hand and taking it out to the drink to rip some lips... I need some silicone molds in my life now because of this..cheers...
That’s the first time I’ve seen an injector made like that! Very simple and effective. Great video Roland!
Whoa SON!! Am I glad I found this video! Roland, I grew up watching your fishing shows as a kid. I loved your intensity and your love of the sport. I've been seriously looking into making my own plastics and your ideas are exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you sir! My smelly, fish slimed hat is off to you!
I love watching you Mr. Martin. I watched you as a young guy, and every time my brother and I went fishing as kids, we would sing the theme song for your show. You are a legend. Thank you so much. Great memories, and now new ones. Warm regards from Ontario, Ganaraska River in Port Hope.
Who would’ve known a famous bass fisherman playing with LEGO lol
Mr Roland Martin
I'm a long time of yours! I grew up since a small boy watching you on t.v. And I absolutely love that your still making video's! Always puts that smile on my face I had a kid watching you. So I just wanted to say Thank you for all the years of awesome knowledge learning stuff all the way to bloopers your an true inspiration for anyone looking to get into fishing. Much respect and always tightlines 🎣
You are still a great teacher and instructor! Thank you so much for showing this. I’m sharing your channel with all my fishing buddies. They are mostly salt water anglers..but we fish for anything that swims. You can expect some more subscribers soon Professor Martin🎣. God Bless
Thanks Roland! Love the videos keep them coming. I love how you DYI everything shows people how to save money and customize.
Just started fishing this year and just discovered Mr. Martin. Crazy respect for this dude, living his life doing what he loved and still doing it and still learning new things, including UA-cam, at 79 years old to boot. You can't beat the wisdom of these old timers man.
You ever met someone you know is gonna change your life forever? Well I have
Young man you got those tubes ready yet? nun726258@gmail.com Sincerely Thanks Grady O.
Thank You Mr.Martin! I watched you as a kid and was excited to come across your channel!
Roland, that was a great tutorial thank you for posting! Tight lines
Roland Martin is the man when it comes to fishing for sure!! I’ve watched you and learned off you for YEARS!! Thanks for this video
Thanks for a nice hands on video.
I am new to this soft plastic stuff. Didn't know that the plastisol scrap was re-usable. Looks like it cleans up pretty easy also as the plastisol peels right off the injector. Prior to watching your video I thought cleaning your injector would be a real mess.
John
It's easy
I grew up watching you and I’ve been making baits and molds for over 40years i will enjoy watching your posts
Best fishing class on UA-cam. Thank you again.
Roland is the best!
My freinds dad when I was young used creapy crawler goop in molds to make curly tail jige and stuff. And had lead jighead molds also. We played with it builing stuff for fun. It is satisfiying to make your own fishing lures, My favorite was tying flies. It is so satisfiying to make a perfect royal coachman or ant even underwater flies of various types including baby trout. So I can see why you do this, and thanks for showing me the latest and available products! I may develop a new hobby.
What a guy. Once you get a real nice hobby, which you made a job, you will never get bored. Amazing.
Great video , enjoyed watching and learning.
I've been a fan of you and your shows since I was kid, I'm almost 50 now. Great video, good to see you. I dabble in soft plastics a bit, I noticed your injector was a bit sticky. When you pop the piston out to remove the plug of plastic try dripping a couple drops of worm oil on the o-ring to lube it. I oil mine about every 2 or 3 shots. Great video, keep up the good work sir.
Good video Roland I grew up watching you. I even caught a few on your helicopter lure.
That's awesome Roland.....I need to do that! Thanks so much!
Now you got me experimenting with those frogs. 🐸 Been trying different trailers. Thanks Roland.👍
Thank you Rolland! I just love these videos. What a great thing to play with in the middle of the winter when we are locked in dreaming of being on the water. I love the idea of recycling my broken Sencos and it will be a lot of fun fishing my hand made worms and trying colors. Keep them coming buddy, I really look forward to your new videos!
Helpful hint: So you don't make too much or too little silicone for your mold box, pour some dry rice into the mold with whatever you are duplicating. Then measure the volume of the rice and that will get you a precise amount.
Great tip
Found one of your old pro series drop shot rods at a store. It must've been in a back room since 2007 haha I put a spinner bait I customized on it and caught a 4 pounder ! Gonna start doing soft plastic soon too thanks for the video Roland look forward to more you rock bud!
good video. i have just recently started saving all my damaged plastics.so i can make more.
LEGOS are the best!! Thanks for sharing!! :)
What an awesome video, I thoroughly enjoyed it Roland, thank you!
P.S. Now I know to save up all of my torn plastic worms, I never know when I'll want to melt them down and make my own homemade plastic worms.
Thanks Roland!
Roland great video keep the videos coming god bless
Roland. ive bought some helicopter lures and put it on the end of that frog instead of that paddle tail. works great. u should give it a gander
I've always wanted to make own plastics.
Good stuff roland!
Great job
LOVE THIS VIDEO ROLAND
I'm going to have to start making my own plastics. I have a bunch of legos from my son hahaha
I do the same thing! been making sprinker tails ever since I couldn't find em in stores! Great video!
In a pinch if you need a replacement tail. You can use the boot-tail off like a swimming fluke
This was very satisfying to watch, thank for sharing mr. Martin
i love your videos sir . great video like always
Nice video Roland, but why not just hand pour?
i am thinking about all the torn up worms i have thrown away, had no idea you could melt them down and reuse them. senkos are expensive. thanks roland
Chang the playback speed to 1.75 and learn faster. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the world.
Excellent video Roland! I enjoyed seeing the various power tools in your shop! Can you weld with that old Lincoln I seen sitting against the wall as well? Anyway, I have been watching videos lately about making plastic baits as well and yours was frosting on the cake. Simple and to the point. I think some guys get over involved with some of their processes. I hope you don't mind but I think I will share this video to my facebook page as I have a few friends that fish and are hobbyists and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and may like to see how easy this is. I cast my own lead bullets occasionally so this process seams natural to me even though it is chemicals versus molten metal. The principals are somewhat the same when it comes to dealing with casting in molds. Thanks for sharing Roland!
Thank You Roland... love the Videos...
What is the brand and name of the silicon product you were using to make the mold??
Roland Martin, does your wife let you get away saying "I'm gonna be kinda careful" around the house?
Making plastics is super hard work but it's worth it
You could hand pour those if you wanted to, great information though.
Have you ever burnt glitter while making lures? If so, has it affected your lungs?
This video is a dream come true!
Let's do this roland! Love smashing that like button on your vids
Have you ever looked into a good CNC machines to make molds in aluminum? Maybe 3D printing? Just a thought
Aluminum are the best but expensive!
Roland what kind of baits and colors do you throw on a cloudy day?
Good video 👍
maybe try smaller tails for the double
I’ve got a crawfish that they just don’t make anymore, I think I will try this thanks. Also I’ve been saving plastic lures since the 80s so I got things that are not around anymore.
what is the chance your going to bring that helicopter lure back into production? Back in the day son I had those lures along with the flying lure and boy i caught some nice bass!!!
I'm not going to do that, just having fun making lures
Nice job you got a thumbs-up right when I heard the word logos
Wanting to make the new larger helicopter lure...... Are you going to show us how you made it?
going to use these materials and techniques to make jiggly fire spouts on my goblin wizard miniatures :)
I did the same thing. heck with buying the extra for like 7$.
Hey Roland know any good fishing spots on Okechobee for a tournament next weekend
I was playing cards the other day with a friend of mine. He's in his 20's and I won a game and exclaimed, Son. A little later he said why'd you call me son? I had a he'll of a time explaining myself.
This is just way good stuff.
Good informative video
World class fisherman, World class teacher
A trick in a trick :)
The Helicopter lure lives!!
I would have thought you would have slapped a helicopter trailer on that spro. Thinking the helicopter body would have to be at least half size though.
Thats so cool
I got a baseball bat that broke looking for somebody in the area of Orlando that could make a molding of plastic
Me new to the channel I'm looking to get same liquid silicone and the hardening solution, for it where to buy?
Way cool.
Mad Bassmasters Laboratory
Looks like a ton of work
But it's fun!
if you want another channel to watch for soft plastic making vids check out worlds worst fishing... that guy got me into making all my own baits lol.
wait Roland are you a woodturner too?
He's actually got a video on him making a wooden lure. He's version of a devil horse
Roland can you show me how to make a pre rigged worm mold. You can contact me on my channel. There isnt any info on pre rigged worms anywhere. Ive made them on my own but its a process the way i go about it
This guy doesnt care what drips all over his table or floor or his hands ,clothes, what a Slob !
Please notice me you’re my idol
Its not the same feeling catching a fish when you make your on worm and mold versus just buying a worm from the store.
I agree
I save my tails from the swimin dingers when they are no good and i use them
What silicone is best for it
You can use a gram scale to measure all your materials and you will have much better success. It looked like you added to much catalyst.
Good idea
@@RolandMartinOutdoors I really hope it helps. You share your fishing knowledge with the world the least I can do is help you with some of my own knowledge. I come from the special effects world and we do all kinds of silicone molds. Cheers man keep lipping those big ones.
That’s a lonely house wife sipping on a bottle of vodka 10% 😂😂 10…15..35 who knows lol Roland Martin is the man!
I think you need get in contact with do it molds ha
Espetaclorar meta mais vídeos. Gostava de aprender
Hey!! What wrong with playing with legos? Hehe
So your a wood turner too
I'm learning!
Blue Fox 🦊
Great video, please wear safety glasses, I'd hate to see a sliver of aluminum get in your eyes.
The plate is unnecessary just open pour that mold.
