Without a doubt - that is the best and most informative video on dirt bike tire changing ever made. He is a natural at teaching!
Great example of a smart dude really able to refine, clearly articulate and teach his craft. Thank you Anthony and Motion Pro.
I've been spooning tires on cars and motorcycles for 50 years and I have to say I just learned few new things.
"The reason I like to do this... It physically puts your hands on the rim..." I can not agree with this more. That is an attribute of proper workmanship. Using multiple senses while cleaning the work is a great way to notice any flaws or mistakes. Well done.
Easily the best tutorial I've seen yet. Seriously appreciate how you took the time to show specific details, such as how you placed the tire in between the rim lock and rim before trying to mount. So many details shown slowly. Great video!
Yes, be careful for the sprocket… I have a scar on the top of my hand from a few years ago. Nice video with good tips.
Always fun watching a pro. They always make it look easy.
This is a mindblowing video for me. I struggled so many times. Your technic seems so smooth, you make it look soo easy ! I can't wait to have to do a tire repair again using what I learned here. Thank you so much for this great video. Had to watch it many times at 0.5x speed to get it all because there is so many tips. it's like a final bible for mechanics of all the best tips
The BEST TIRE CHANGE VIDEO
Well, I successfully changed two dirt bike tires. Took 3 hours. Thought I should know in case of breakdown on trail. Windex helped soften up the bead stickiness. Dunlop D606's are sure stiff to take off. I thought the take=off would be the hard part. For the install, there are several tips he gives that do help. Like always, lube is good. No wonder my tire guy took a pass on installing them (he only does tubeless motorcycle tires that will fit on his machine). Thanks Anthony!
Thank you Anthony. You are the best teacher ever !!!
Excellent tutorial. This man knows his craft and is a good instructor.
I think that's the best tire change video i've watched and as a new adv rider / motorcyclist, i've watched many!
Excellent teacher. Very well done. I like the emphasis on safety tips.
Glad to see this. The technique to remove the second bead (worn tire) is the "bomb". Cheers!
The best video on changing motorcycle tire I had seen so far. Very good work, very clear and clever. Thank you for doing it.
It's interesting to see the Dunlop specialist putting the beadlock in first, in my experience tires seem to go on tighter if you initially have the beadlock inside when you're levering them on. I would guess the beadlock pushes the bead of the tire out of the center valley and gives you less room to move, especially when you're at the last stage where the bead is almost on, but you just need that extra little wiggle room. If you end on the beadlock, you don't have to worry about it. This is more of an issue on really thick hard compound tires or ones with like 4-6 sidewall plies. All the tricks in the video are solid, I definitely learned some new stuff! Thanks for the vid.
great vid. The best how to change a dirt bike tire change video. Very detailed explanation of the technique on each segment of the tire change cycle and great camera shots throughout the video to go with the narration.
Great video man! Thanks for teaching us the easy way.
Very well done!
Awesome technique! Thanks!
Great video! I learned a lot. Truly. Thank you. Now then, I’d like to see the same instructor go outside on the side of the road do it again from beginning to end with traffic behind him and all the problems that arise as a result of not having the same tools and conveniences. I would learn a ton more watching that second video as well. again, thank you!
Great video! Thank You!
Great video! 👍
Lovely job
Great video
Good instruction video! Powerful
Super cool!!
well done bro
Great video! How does this process, starting and ending points, etc change if you don't run rim locks?
I do tons of tires. Yes, watch out those sprockets. They’ll bite. Busted and split my nail on the tip of the sprocket. I did make my own tire stand but love the motion pro bead breaker. I would recommend adding bead lube after the inner tube is in. I do also love the Motion Pro rim shields.
By the way, folks at Motion Pro, I could use a smaller bead buddy for smaller bikes.
Great video, I wish that I had watched before I changed tyres on my tow Transapl's, that had saved me a lot of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 🤣
Just a suggestion but a bit more on the actual technique of spooning the tire would be awesome 😊
Good video, I recommend watching in 2X speed, you will get a more fluid video experience.
Great video on changing your tire in the comfort of a fully stocked garage! Now do one that shows how to do that in the real word out on a trail without all those wonderful Motion Pro tools, but instead the bare essentials that you would find in your small toolkit and no fancy stand.
Great suggestion!
@@MotionPro84 nothing wrong with tyre changes in a workshop, you might be putting your own tyres on before a trip. Saving money, learning new skills, practising with some controls in place, use whatever to your advantage.
Search Brett Tkacs and one handed tyre change, for the alternative. He uses only one hand and a set of Motion Pro combo levers.
Sometimes you need the fundamentals, then can go the next level. Working on the trail is when ypu and your mates start havi g adventures, working in your shed is just as motivating to get on the trails.
Good info either way. Just ride and have fun.🇦🇺
I love how all tyre change video's renoving tyres are brand new tyres, old work tyres are totally different story
sir where can i buy the dunlop yellow sticker that put in the side of the tire ,thanks
how important it is to use tire paste on the bead before putting back the tire ? I mean, if i'm in the middle of the wood and dont have some, whats the purpuse of that paste except helping the tire to get more easily in ?
Question from a 1985 or 6 ktm 250 motorcycle owner. I have a new motor that has the drive sprocket on the right side. I need it on the left. Can I just flip the rear rim to fix this issue?
Where can I get such a stand to place my wheels on?
Donde puedo comprar las cucharas q usas para cambiar la llanta xfa te lo agradecería mucho
🤔 WOW I really wish that he could have explain more just how you put the spoon and what side of the spoon you should be on.To know the right direction to put the spoon it get the tire off and to get it started back on the rim.
What about scratching the wheels? I had a try at removing my back knobbly with wheel protectors and they seem to make it much harder
A few things not mentioned on this video: 1) line up your valve stem with the red dot on your tire. 2) check to make sure that the arrow direction marker on your tire is the correct way it should rotate on the wheel. 3) Be careful as your seating the tire to keep the valve stem straight and perpendicular through the rim. I’m a newbie and did all three of these things wrong on my first attempt.
what red dot of the tire??
@@BixenteDelBosque Dunlops have a yellow dot, I think METZELER and few others use the red dot. And I can see in the video the valve stem was lined up with the yellow dot.
@@BixenteDelBosque Not every manufacturer does this, but it indicates the lightest point on the tire. SO you want to align it with valve stem of rimlock since there is more weight in the wheel assembly for the purpose of weight balance. Even if you don't intend to balance you wheels, this is a good practice to balance the weight of the components
Silly noob question.. what does the bead buddy actually do? I've seen about 6 videos on them but i don't see it's purpose. How does it make it easier? What would happen without it?
Hi - I have a T7 with a tyre 150 tyre and larger rim. The standard bead buddy is not big enough. Any thoughts on what I can use?
Unfortunately, we do not have anything at the moment that can work with that rim width. We have our T6 Trail Bead Buddy®, but we do not feel it will push the tire down far enough to the drop center of the rim.
Block of wood?
I’ve been told not to use lube cause the tire could spin on the rim but it looks like everyone uses it
god i wish you could take the eo7 off my rear rim. I thought i was going to have to call an ambulance today! Still havent broken the bead on one side.
👍
Is it just me or did he never turn to do the sprocket side of the wheel??!!
I am very new at this and can’t understand the mounting after installing the nut on the valve.
I look and look at this video and he is always working with the disc facing up while mounting..!
I don’t understand.
What tire lube paste did you use?
Soapy water will do
Much easier if you break the beed on both sides before you start removing the tire
The rim protector is a great design item for the wall :/
Easy as pie. Yeah right. Like anything if you do it all day everyday 40 Wheels a day.
Thanks, but poor filming. You should do much more zooming in and not showing the technician standing there working on the tire. Excellent technician on explaining the procedure.
Terrible camera work should have been much more zooming in
