I'm not sure whether sales are a good indication by themselves of how good a game is. I work in an office. Most days go like this: I finish whatever is planned within the first hour of starting work, then there's 2 options: You either ask for more work, in which case they'll give you an insane amount of stupid work, which they will use against you if you do not finish in time, or you just shut up, listen to podcasts and act like you are working. So you can guess once what literally everyone chooses. Working from home changes nothing for our company, as all we do is computer based online stuff, productivity (or lack thereof) wasn't impacted at all. Yet, still they are making us come back to the office which is in the highest corona-hit area of the country to basically make sure we're at least acting like we are working. When we were working from home (after 30 people in the company got infected so they literally didn't have any other option), my asshole middle manager was constantly sending skype messages to give us more dumb work, and getting furious when you did not react within 30 seconds "because you were obviously not working". I hate my job, and as soon as corona allows it I'll look for something else and hope it is at least marginally less toxic than the shithole I work in now.

Drek was born on Orxon, an industrialized planet in the Shadow Sector of the Solana Galaxy. At some point, due to overpopulation and pollution by Drek Industries,[4] the planet became uninhabitable. Drek then planned to construct an entirely new planet using the best pieces of other planets in the galaxy. Though he told the blarg and the rest of the galaxy that this was a solution to build them a new home,[5] he was actually motivated by profit and planned to pollute the next planet and restart the entire process.[4] Drek also hired galactic celebrity Captain Qwark to be the highly paid spokesperson for his new planet.[6]

And the incident pyrion is talking about at 22:20 happened when tucker carlson was a host of Crossfire and they had john stewart on. Tucker tried to make himself look important by hurting stewarts credibility as reporter. John stewart countered with he is not a reporter he is a comedian, the show on before the daily show at the time was crank yankers. john tore carlson apart pointing out crank yankers is a show with puppets making prank calls about jacking off. where as carlson is supposed to be a reporter and he is seen as a joke. John stewart made such good points during the interview on crossfire, that the executive in charge of the show said john stewart was right and cancelled the show with in days. if you can find it, its worth a watch the entire interview is gold.

I got Elite earlier this year and put about 77 hours into it. I enjoyed it but did ultimately get bored of it purely because of its slow pace. At the start it was fine because everything I was doing was relatively close so time spent travelling between stars was a lot less but then I decided to Engineer my ship and began the process of gathering the resources and unlocking the Engineers and it killed the game very quickly for me.
I literally for a couple of hours just to make 'reasonable' progress driving a circuit around an abandoned research station picking up materials for about an hour over and over again and that materials I got still only lasted for one or two upgrades before I had ran out again. That and the travel time was beyond stupid, would take me literally an hour to get to where I was going and that whole time was just jumping between stars and scooping fuel, mind numbingly boring. I don't want to play a game for an hour and literally make zero actual progress and have no enjoyment, killed the game for me and I stopped playing.

It is a way they can mask their bigotry, it is just jokes bro. I wish I saved an article that showed how people like Richard Spencer was using "jokes" about blacks to spread their message.
And what people been cancelled for wasn't harmless comments. They been racist comments.
Pewdiepie... with the whole death to Jews joke is a joke, but is a bigoted joke. I don't think he is racist or hate Jews, but I have hard time wanting to defend him after he called someone the n word in heated gaming moment. It came out way to easy for him not to use fairly regularly. And the only people I know that use the N word that often where they can slip up like that are normally bigoted.
And since he is face of youtube with that joke, and that slip of the tongue, will hurt their bottom line. Companies don't want to be associate with that so they will pull ads. Thus taking money from youtube.
      Part of his apology
" said the worst word I could possibly think of, and it just sort of slipped out. I’m not going to make any excuses as to why it did, because there are no excuses for it."
First half is an excuse, and i really don't buy it just slipped out, since he said he was thinking for the worst thing to say.
But I have to say he has done good since then, donating to BLM, and not slipping up. Again I don't think he is racist, but he might be... I don't know.
And most companies if one of their employees did that would be fired for creating a hostile work place. Which is a just firing. Because those foolish acts creates distrust and other negative BS with the company they worked for.
That is about close to over reaction i ever saw from libs/leftists with cancel culture... but UA-cam was going come down on him hard due to what I said about hurting the bottom line.
Many people who are against cancel culture feels entitled to a private owned platform.... and no one is. If you ask me that is where the real entitlement is.
I want to say you have very measured thoughts on this. But lets be real, business are the one with power to cancel people outside the government. Yes, the masses can influence a company protests, boycotts. Which to limit cancel culture could end up limiting people who are calling for people to be fired speech.

    • @DubhghlasMacDubhghlas

@@HellBent_ Yeah, my thing is anti bigotry. Insults are offensive speech but allow them so long the person insulting another isn't harassing them. If I called you dumb, fine. But if I went around and calling you dumb everywhere you went that is harassment. Or spamming it on social media.
So for me it isn't all offensive speech. It is just bigotry, and again I am not calling for government action. And those who want to outlaw hate speech I disagree with. Because if you do they will just go underground. And when underground it harder to know who is a bigoted jackwagon.
But if you try to limit "cancel culture" you would have to use government force to do so, I can't see it any other way of doing it. Because people if they don't like something they should, and have right to speak out about it. And a company should have right to fire someone that would bring bad PR to their company. Thus an actually violation of freedom speech, and freedom of association.
Your right to free speech doesn't trump a business freedom of association, or others right to speak out against you.
You don't have right to a job, if you violate that company HR policy. You don't have right to a privately own platform that you don't own. None of that violates people right to free speech if they get fired because people told your work place about you being racist, or if someone reports you to youtube, twitter for breaking tos. They have right to say what they want, others have right not to associate with you if you do.
Now ask yourself how can you stop "cancel culture" without violating others rights. I don't see how with out having some laws pass that would limit freedom of association, and speech. And for me that is much scary than bunch of individuals using their rights to speak out against someone, or not associating with someone.

The problem with game development, especially indie but applies across the board, it the ability to make money. Game design is like every other entertainment industry the goal is to make money. There's a scope where it doesn't matter if you spend 12 months on a game or 3 year you'd make roughly the same amount of money. So what's happening are Game Devs rather than having a passion project that takes years are churning out 'bog standard' games with just enough development that they work but are ultimately boring in order to keep their revenue up. There's no way to tell if your game is just going to sub par average or sell exceptionally well, none at all its all guess work. So from their pov why spend three years on a game when they can spend one year on it and make roughly the same amount. There's no incentive for developers to really push and dedicate themselves to making a really great game.
That said if their game does do really well its often greatly improved over time, Minecraft been the best example but there are many others. If you look at the best selling Indie games on steam most of them have a varied amount of development time and there was no idea that they'd do as well as they have.

As an American, I have no idea what they're talking about with it being hard to walk places here. Maybe it's just because I'm a Coloradan, but I walk places every time I have to go somewhere that's not too far away. Admittedly, I've never been to California--let alone L.A., but I've never been anywhere across the US where you couldn't walk anywhere you needed to go. When I was still going to high school, I'd walk 1.5 miles there and back every day, and I walk to the grocery store in addition to the restaurants near me all the time.

Theres no combat, everyone is vaccinated against the virus by now. Instead you have to lure the zombies into containment units so they can be cured later. Think that one episode of wallace and gromit with the rabbits, but with zombies.

No reddit user ever use the up/down vote system in the way it's intended. You're not supposed to downvote stuff just because you disagree with it, yet if you go against the grain on any popular opinion you can see your karma start to tank no matter how eloquently you phrase your arguments. Getting actual discussions going is also like pulling teeth, you can make a multiple paragraph post inviting counter-arguments, but the only thing you'll ever get in response is a one-line 'ur wrong' and a downvote. Trash site.

Iratus: Lord of the dead is just Darkest Dungeon, but your the villian. And It's good. If you like Darkest dungeon, you'll like Iratus. It's not a "Slay the Spire" type game. Their both turn based and rogue-likes, but still very different games.
If you don't like the graphics, fair enough. If it's not your type of game, fair enough. But saying it's not good because it's like slay the spire, but worse is not a fair comment. That's like saying "I don't like DOTA because it's like the Sims, but worse". Maybe that's a bit extreme, but it get's the point across.
