Would love to see a video on the 2 different annealing methods
This was a very informative video. One question regarding brass life. If you do everything correctly how do you know that your brass has had it?
Could you make a video on " Can competition bullets be used for hunting" (excluding head and neck shots)
I'm quite meticulous about reloading, and have been since I started about 36 years ago, and in that time with thousands upon thousands of rounds fired (probably more like 150,000 rounds), I have only had one partial case-head separation. The head didn't fully separate, but it blew out about a third of the way around the head-rim junction. This was in my match grade AR-15 that I use for high power XTC (across the course) NRA/CMP National Match competitions. Thankfully it happened as I was just practicing, but when I fired the round, it blew out the bottom of my magazine, spewing the magazine base plate, mag spring, follower, and a few rounds that were left in the mag, plus all the hot gases, down the magazine and onto the ground. Needless to say, I almost needed a change of underwear that day. 🤣
I've had one case head separation in my gas gun. Luckily it was during a class and the whole case ejected. The head was hanging on by a thread. My instructor and I started looking at the cases and I had several that showed signs of "belts". I sat those rounds aside and the rest of the time in class all was fine. Since then I inspect every case and trash those that showed signs of belting. Interesting thing, I was using rcbs small base dies. I stopped using those and switched to hornady dies and haven't encountered it since. (6mm ARC) Still haven't figured out if the sizing die is the cause or if it was the load or if it was just the hornady brass. Haven't encountered this problem with any other cartridge I load for.
Would like the video of amp vs gas anealing with testing
When are you going to show us how to paint chassis
303 British brass is bad for CHS. Best to neck size only for 303 BRitt from the rifle the cartridge brass was fire formed to. Full length sizing 303 BRitt will give you 3 to 5 reloads.
Thank you for the information.
Sir, do you clean your centerfire supressor? It will change poi with buildup inside?
Question: Nickel plated brass, the only cases I’ve ever had an issue with, and I am what some call overly cautious, what I have seen is splitting at neck, why?
Hey Pieter, hoop dit gaan goed? Lanklaas 'n range oefen video gemaak 🤙✊️
So then... Do I use my bore scope and trim my brass to the maximum length my chamber will accept or trim to SAMI length as I have always done? PS I get an extractor mark on almost all my cases.
Hi Pieter,
Im in the process of getting my first rifle. Would you recommend a .308 as a do it all cartridge? Using it for hunting and also shooting matches.
Or is 6.5 creedmoor a better option?
Can you maybe do a video about your opinion between those 2 cartridges? Having in mind all the details like ammo price and availability. Distance at which someone normally would hunt. And if a lighter bullet in a 308 would compete similar to a 6.5creedmoor( have more or less same trajectory)
I am also from South Africa (Cape town)
Takeout the expander from your sizing die. Stop torturing your brass. Even better; use Kiwi neutral for acase lube, spin the case in the can run thru full length sizing die no need to clean lube. Case life x 3. Try it, also cuts down on case trimming.
👍🏻👍🏻
No need annealing video.
If You want it ,just buy Amp.
OMG God is truly watching over me! That's all I will say!
By the way, your Brownells affiliate link is missing.
UA-cam doesn't allow links directly to any website that sells firearms. Gotta be careful with the links in your description. They will give your channel a strike if you link to a site they don't like. I barely put any links in my videos. Always afraid if I link a site that doesn't sell firearms or ammo currently, then they do later, UA-cam will come back and give me a strike, lol. Another of the non-sensical rules of the UA-cam game!
@@IMPACTSHOOTING Alright, thank you thank you. I used the Amazon link, hopefully you got a kickback from that. I'll reuse your affiliate link everytime I use Amazon.
I would love to see an Gas vs. induction annealing comparison specifically as it applies to shoulder bump variation.
